Billy Brownless slammed for views on women's football
Former AFL star Billy Brownless has come under fire for his views on women’s football, after the media personality said he “still doesn’t know” if women should play the game at the highest level.
In an episode of Channel Ten’s ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’, Brownless was asked by fellow contestant Erin Barnett about his opinion on women’s football.
“I don’t know if they’re built to play footy,” Brownless said.
“It’s not being sexist or anything… the thing with girls is they get hurt, because they don’t know how to protect themselves.”
Brownless’ comments have been heavily criticised on social media.
I mean it's true, i saw an AFLW game where BANG, 27 players did collarbones
I can't as a delicate little lady get to the TV bar I'm bumping into things!
We should totally stick to Brownless approved non collarbone endangering activities
