Brendan Goddard’s mark in the 2010 grand final was worthy of mention taking into consideration the time and score.

Masters of the Air: The ten greatest AFL 'speckies' of the 21st century - and #2 wasn't even Mark of the Year!

Problem with Freo’s drafting and retention since 2018 is that they were not able not to make the hard decisions with regard to players like Banfield, Blakely, Crowden, Hughes and Bewley who were off/on and redrafted to rookie list. Obviously there has was no interest from rival clubs during this time period so why were they not delisted. Schultz was also moved to the rookie list in 2021, played 20 games for the season and talent wise was undoubtedly underestimated or not developed appropriately and has moved to Collingwood for season 2024.

During this time traded players included Neale, Hill, Langdon, Acres, Hogan, Cerra and Lobb together with the retirements of Ballaytine, Sandilands, Hill and Mundy account for plenty of experience.

Will Dockers come to rue lack of trade activity?

The Brownlow predictor had Neale winning with 32 votes. Hardly an upset, together with the fact that the Brisbane midfield virtually had no other standout vote catches during the year with McCluggage well down early in the season when Neale consistently polled ones and twos.

COMMENT: Lachie Neale's baffling win proves it's time to take Brownlow voting off the umps

This season by Dusty can be argued that it is equal/better of his AA season of 2020.

The Roar's predicted AFL All-Australian team: Dusty must make the cut... but who should be left out for him?

Bontempelli shaping up as one of the best midfielders of the last 15 years. Martin, Pendlebury, Dangerfield and Selwood ahead of Fyfe.

Durabilty the common denominator.

Six Points: Defending Daicos' 'dive', the moment that summed up Saints' slide, and why Mitchell is the AFL's best coach

Would appear that Liam Henry is on the move.

Longmuir addressed all statements reported above with regard to Liam as he, him and he’s. Did not mention his Christian name once!

AFL News: King close to Saints return, Dockers star a flight risk, Buddy may play one more year, Bombers star re-signs

Ladder points allocation of 4 for a win 2 for a draw is also archaic. There is no points reward for winning a quarter of football. There should be some reward for a team that outscores the opposition in 1, 2 or 3 quarters and eventually loses the game.

TOM MORRIS: Footy has never had less integrity - and the AFL wouldn't have it any other way

More like the difference between finishing the season in 15th position on the ladder and losing all 5 remaining games.

AFL News: Rioli lucks out at tribunal, Crows make Walker contract call, Dockers duo out for year, Lions lock in rising star

Contracted until 2029.

Six Points: Why Ashcroft should still win Rising Star, and a message for Collingwood fans

Freo along with St Kilda the only two teams in the competition to lose 4 out of their last 5 games. Freo playing finals in 2023 is a pipe dream with a percentage less than 90% and 1.5 – 2 games behind teams currently sitting 6th – 11th on the ladder.

Reality is that Fremantle has won 7 games of 17 played and only 4 home wins against interstate teams.

Race for the eight: Every run home analysed - here's how your team makes it to September

Should the Bulldogs be in freefall then the Dockers just softened the crash.

The Bulldogs are in freefall - and only radical changes can save them

I have the Cats in 5th position with 13 wins – superior percentage, with the Bombers, Freo and Adelaide all on 12 wins fighting out the last two positions. Saints, Richmond, GWS, Carlton & Suns all missing with 10-11 wins. Positions very tight re 5 – 13.

Footy Fix: Anyone who seriously thought the Cats were missing finals... here's your reality check

Sicily tackle will be ruled out and free to play round 15. This is a contact sport!

Hawks skipper, Tigers forward facing hefty bans as MRO verdict drops on controversial incidents

You misinterpreted the reply post. It was not about Collingwood, but the quality of the teams that were beaten by the Pies around a straight kick. Had the Pies reach the GF in 2022 it would have been interesting.

Michael Voss has Carlton shaping as a bottom six candidate

Collingwood were only winning by narrow margins from midway thru the season 2022.
The Pies defeated Bombers, Adelaide, Kangaroos, Gold Coast , and Hawthorn by 7 points with four of the games being less than a goal. Can also throw Port in there as well during the back end of the season.
All of the first listed five teams finished no higher than 12th on the ladder in 2022. Doubt whether the Pies can be a true guide to where teams are at coming into season 2023.

I believe Freo’s winning record is far superior when Fyfe has not been on field as captain.

The only year that Freo has a better winning percentage when Fyfe is on field as captain was his first year 2017 when they lost the only game that Fyfe was missing for one game.

For the record with Fyfe as captain 39.8%, without Fyfe 53.7%.

Footy Fix: Boring, brainless and utterly broken - it's time for Freo to find Plan B

Thats due to the Ross Lyon legacy.

Footy Fix: Boring, brainless and utterly broken - it's time for Freo to find Plan B

Serong has gone past Brayshaw, has a more rounded game, similar to Noah Anderson v Rowell.

Fremantle just does not have the 200 game players as a backbone. Fyfe and Walters are the only players in that 200+ bracket.

They are 2 years from challenging for the flag.

Footy Fix: Boring, brainless and utterly broken - it's time for Freo to find Plan B

The team that Freo fielded last night was still a very young and inexperienced side with average age being 24.5 years and 68 games. Elder statesmen were only Walters & O’Meara.

Got ahead of where they are at due to finishing ladder position in 2022. Have an abundance of same type of players that need to be sorted out who can play and in what role. Must in 2023 to finalise same.

Footy Fix: Boring, brainless and utterly broken - it's time for Freo to find Plan B

Draw evens it self out over the season.

The Bulldogs have a dream run from round 12 with Geelong (H), Port (H), Saints @ Marvel (A), Round 15 bye, and Freo (H) in round 16 which is reciprocal of the draw for rounds 5 & 6 with regard to Port & Freo.

Plus a round 17 home game against the Pies. Thats five (5) consecutive games @ marvel with a weeks rest built in.

Six Points: 2023's biggest umpiring farce, Kelli Underwood's commentary, and was Gather Round really THAT good?

A little bit harsh on the young Daicos. Averaged 6.4 contested possessions in season 2022 playing of half back and this year is averaging 9.0. Sam Docherty has never averaged 6.5 contested possessions over his whole career and similarly Daniel Rich averages around the 5 mark for past seven years.
Just bring up footy wire stats and have a look at the midfielders who in 2023 are averaging 9 or less contested possessions per game to date this year.

Six Points: Finlayson deserved better than awful question, and the Swans who stuffed up in crazy finish

No it’s Freo from not being able to kick a winning score on the board in finishing last.

Six Points: Finlayson deserved better than awful question, and the Swans who stuffed up in crazy finish

Just got to accept the norm that around Easter time the tracks in Sydney are heavy 9 or 10.

The Everest prizemoney should be spent on upgrading the Randwick track

In addition his career highlights since moving to the Lions in 2021 are 8th for time on ground in 2021 and 10th for score involvements for same year.

Contracted to end 2025 and will be 32 years of a age into the new season.
