Cats, don’t think Broich plays, also think Heart are going to stick with same lineup from Morewell, so probably no Terra or Shroj.

Far out you Wannabe supporters are an edgy bunch.
Still, a few decent runs on the board over the next few years and I’m certain alot of those insecurities you all seem to have should subside somewhat.

Wallabies eye rugby's No.1 spot in 2012

What a crazy comp.
I’m 0-2 already this week so go Roar!

mmm, I dunno I think McCabe goes alright. He may not be the punchiest player out there and there was alot of love to have his position filled by Barnes in the RWC, but he definately never let his team mates down and is a great defender. He gets given a job to do and does it.
If being world class can be catergorised by lifting to the next level from club rugby to test level and against opposing players who also have the ability to lift, I’d say he holds his own.

Ioane to make call after UK rugby tour

Nailed it.
Great post.

Robbie Deans and ARU take the long view

where’s the edit button thingy gone?

Wallabies Spring Tour 2011 squad named

doh, just I read this article .. explains a little. http://www.theroar.com.au/2011/11/07/oconnor-for-bigger-wallabies-tour-role/

Wallabies Spring Tour 2011 squad named

Seems like a pretty solid calendar to of only named 1 first-five, how do others see the backs lining up if Barnes goes down?
Who would be up to it, O’Conner? Would AAC then move to fullback or Turner and someone else takes a wing position.
I dunno, seems like a wing short or a 10 short.

How do others see it?

One other thing, where do others see O’Conners role in the future?

cheers

Johnno my personal choice would be –

1) Rugby
2) AFL
3) League
4) College Football
5) Netball
6) Football
7) 7’s rugby
8. Cricket (when 2 good teams play)
9) Surfing
10) Horse Racing

That’s enough to keep me happy.

Who is the greatest sporting nation in the world?

My comments were all tongue in cheek Johnno, so no, I’m not serious. chill mate.

Who is the greatest sporting nation in the world?

You’re missing the point Johnno.

1) I would rather have Jake White managing the AllBlacks than Jones or McKenzie.

2) I do not want Jake White.

3) NZ does not need to have a non-NZer to coach their national side.

Henry backs Hansen for All Blacks coach

Great article. As Johhno suggests the figures could be a little skewed due to participation numbers of Asians in Cricket and Hockey.

There needs to be a ‘care factor’ element, afterall the only handful of sports people really care about are Rugby, League, Football, Netball and Sailing.
NZ have a couple of America’s Cups, the current RWC, the League WC, No.1 in netball and the only team to go undefeated at the last Football world cup. I’d say the’re travelling alright. 😛

England with a RWC and Football WC is a top effort, probably only France can match that in the near future. Maybe Argentina and Italy oneday too.

But hey, take nothing away from Aussie being great at hitting things with bats and sticks. 🙂

Who is the greatest sporting nation in the world?

My point exactly Johnno. Jake White is obviously a great manager, as was Clive Woodward.
That said, how come Eddie couldn’t weave his magic with Australia? doesn’t he have the lowest win-loss ratio of any Wallaby coach?

And for the record, Jake White is hardly a favourite, though I would be more comfortable with him managing the AB’s than Jones or Link.

Cheers

Jake White (a manager of men) on the other hand …

Deans and Eddie Jones are proven Super rugby title winners too.
No thanks.

Henry backs Hansen for All Blacks coach

I heard it on a couple of occasions it was twice. He got signed for a further 4 years then during the world cup resigned a ‘to be sure, to be sure’ contract where Wales upped the ante to avoid poachers. Haven’t been able to find anything to back it up.
Still, a contract these days means very little.

He would be in with a chance, but it’s whether or not he yet wants to take that chance.
If he took the job and the AB’s were to stumble over the next couple of seasons he may find himself looking for new employment.
He may see himself on the brink of something special with his young Welsh side. If they were to implode, he’ll never get a shot with NZ.
That’s probably the punt he has to take.
A good showing in the 6 Nats and a semi (maybe a final) in London WC might be enough to get him the AB job after 2015. That would be a minimum of 6 yrs of secure employment at least.

Think he’ll stay with Wales. Good on him too.

Tricky race alright!

Going with Americain and Niwot based on last outings. Jukebox Jury, Moyenne Corniche, Duneden and Shamrocker for the minors.

Good luck!

His management demaded it, they wouldn’t budge on any further time line.
To be fair, his management is paid to do whatever best suites SBW. I don’t necessarily agree with it, but can understand it.
SBW is a marketing dream so the NZRU have probably taken the line one year is better than nothing at this stage.

Mikey, Mikey, Mikey.
Will be a refreshing relief the day you can actually post something on The Roar without having to resort to your usual ‘bitterness and insecurity’ jibes.
Careful Mikey, people may start thinking it is infact you who is bitter and insecure.

Winners are grinners and losers rewrite their history

I told you my thoughts Cameron, had you forgotten? France v AB’s final all the way were my exact words.

You couldn’t even get one of them right. Stick to AFL mate.

We have a replay of 1987 in 2011 RWC

Yeah, it’s going to take a lifetime to shake a record equalling 2 world cups and the best winning percentage of any nation on the planet against any other nation. ‘cough cough, splutter splutter, choke choke’. I guess when all is said and done, only South Africa can ever legitimately rival the might of New Zealand in rugby as they also have 2 world cups and a history of destruction.

Then of course we have the also rans, Australia with their 2 world cups and sweet FA else, England with their single rwc win and FA else, France the “new” choke with the ability to actually (as opposed to the majority of other nations) beat the All Blacks (even once) but make 3 (count them folks -3) finals apprearances and walk away with jack.
It would seem Sports Illustrated & other drop kicks are totally on the money, New Zealand is far from out of the choke woods yet.
Hahaha it must really suck being a fan of a team who is not the MIGHTY AB’s!

Imagine that, 3 rwc finals and nothing to show for it, oh the pain. So painful infact, I’d probably turn to tabloid news magazines for support.

Dear Aunty SI ….

Winners are grinners and losers rewrite their history

Good call mate.
