Hey there Ken, thanks for commenting mate. I do remember people saying Queensland were on their death bed at origin level, but I always thought that without a dynamic attacking half option NSW were never going to beat Queensland. 2004 saw the return of Brad Fittler to remedy the attack and leadership. 2005 was Johns return, and the other options they had were no match for the opposition, at least in my opinion.

I agree the best option is to let Carney mature more, but I do also believe he has the goods to compete at Origin level too. Can’t wait to see what happens next year.

Brian Smith: Doing the Blues a favour

Not as consistent as the All Blacks true, but besides England I think the SH teams are fairly consistent at beating the NH teams.

Who will step up in the Autumn Internationals?

Just out of curiousity, are these stats games played in the NH or both? To me personally besidees England the rest of these sides seem to struggle no? And where is Wales in this comparison? They are a part of the NH aren’t they?

Who will step up in the Autumn Internationals?

Just my opinion, but I think England will struggle against the Boks. The only guarantee in my eyes is Samoa. All of the NH teams struggle against their SH counterparts.

Hope I don’t breed hostilities!!

People need to lay off Elsom, his transition to captain hasn’t been the easiest and it clearly affects his game. I expect him to have an absolute blinder for the BaaBaas. Without the pressure of captaincy he will thrive against the Boks
