Wallabies squad announced for opening Bledisloe Test

sometimes, KPM, it’s okay to look at the facts.

ROBBIE DEANS interview (pt.1): Wallabies need an attacking mindset

I agree that barnes isn’t exactly the answer and when Leali’ifano returns things will be sure to change. But i think that at this moment in time if Quade wants to start at 10 he needs berrick at 12 to reduce the pressure on himself, especialy against the Ab’s

Who will wear the 10 for the Wallabies?

That is exactly the dream backline that i have in mind.
But for this test series, especially against the AB’s i would be very worried about having Quade starting at 10. If he starts at 10 he definitely needs a ball playing 12 on his outside. He hasnt shown yet that he can take all the pressure himself by having crash ball 12’s like McCabe. Beale doesnt need to be a ball player at the back, if he can concentrate on running through gaps and counter attacking with Barnes and Cooper providing for him then i think that is the right combination. On the other hand if barnes starts at 10, he does have the cool-headedness to take the pressure, but he needs someone better than A Fainga’a and McCabe at 12. Preferably Tapuai IMO. Although i am interested to see Anthony back in the 12 jumper for the first time in a while, but our weakest link will again be Horne. Yep he can tackle… what else? not good enough, not even close. Tapuai, Cummins, Smith and even Inman should be playing 13.

Who will wear the 10 for the Wallabies?

i’m not saying he wasn’t in the past. he also brought genia, cooper, O’connor, Beale, etc. But he has become very complacent and isnt willing to change his formula, which hasnt really been a winning one!!!!

Wallabies Rugby Championship squad announced

i agree 100%. ANYONE BUT BLOODY HORNE, PLEASE!!

Wallabies Rugby Championship squad announced

I mean Robbie was great in bringing new players in when he first started but that doesnt mean he has to just stop. If Robbie deans was coaching NZ atm there would be no Savea, no Aaron Smith, no Brodie Rettalick, no Sam Cane. Also Mania, yeah maybe “it cant get any worse than what it already is.” but we are number 2 in the world. although fundamentally, yes it cant get much worse.

this team would win.

This is getting ridiculous. The consistent selection of conservative players will never make us world no.1. Rob horne and ben alexander are bloody useless. Why on earth did they not keep tapuai? surely even if he was not 100% they could keep him in the squad for after the matches against the All Blacks. Cummins is 50 times the player Horne is, and thats in a team that is even worse than the waratahs. I love the reds but man Samo is so old, and Mowen has been excellent at the brumbies this year. It makes me sick the amount of NSW bias bull$&^+ that goes into this team. Douglas and Timani over Neville and Pyle, drew mitchell and even benn robinson are underperforming. If you want to win, pick players that are playing good rugby, simple as that. Not because you’re scared of losing support of NSW powerbrokers. Don’t get me wrong I like Robbie Deans. But man some serious sh*t needs to be turned around if we ever want to be the best team in the world.

That is so cool, Australia’s time zone really does suck. I imagine in South Africa you can watch european sport, asian football maybe, australia and new zealand sport and maybe catch the test match in the west indies, all at a decent hour? lucky.

What about a Super Rugby Super Round?

he wasnt very big until the last few years. He put on 8kg from 2011 to 2012

Ex-gridiron junior Gill a Wallaby chance

you didnt answer my question

Deans says Wallabies in the deep end

it’s also pretty handy if you can tackle

Mitchell, Turner return to Wallaby train-on squad

yes he bloody is, on what grounds do you base him not so?

Mitchell, Turner return to Wallaby train-on squad

please tell me what on earth rob horne offers to a rugby team?

Deans says Wallabies in the deep end

Although he is probably the best counter attacking player in the world. I’ve often thought about it myself and JOC could go to 15 but i think JOC puts his body on the line more and is much more courageous

Wallabies centres must dare to dare

Mate before I used to read too much of you I took your opinions well. And i dont like it when people criticize others on here cause it is opinon, but seriously. I’m a massive reds fan but this constant blowing the sunshine up the @$$es of F’Sautia, UJ, JORDAN Rapana, etc is bordering on insanity. Can you please have some common sense and patience realise that they are not the answer…yet. While were on this i watched a video analysis of TIMANI on green gold rugby and his so called increased workrate was non-existent. For a tight forward he was out of position 70 times out of 148 at ruck time. He was extremely lazy in defence – defending in the backline, going way too high in contact and letting others make contact first. He was extremely lazy in support, even TPN provided better support. He was hitting rucks when they already finished, the list goes on. I’m sure you’re a nice bloke but man you need to open both eyes to actually see how some players play not their size.

Wallabies centres must dare to dare

I agree 100% with that backline. I’d throw Tomane somewhere in the mix, maybe not in the team but very close to it. Reserve half Nic White. It will be really hard for selectors to choose between Barnes and Cooper for the RC. I mean after guiding the Wallabies to a 3-0 (unconvincing) series win over the top NH side, you’d have to earn some brownie points. He would deal much better with the pressure against the Blacks and the Bocks and if he had the ball playing inside with him he would have more options than McCabe and ^&%ing Horne. But maybe Quade will prove us wrong in the next few months to show he is capable under pressure? But then again Cooper has always played better with Barnes outside him? Who knows what the selectors will think but it will be interesting to find out.

Wallabies centres must dare to dare

I saw Cameron Smith tackle Tony Williams. Thats 25kg+ difference. I like McCabe but we need to move away from this one dimensional style of play and go back to playing how Australia has always played best with fast feet, hands and minds.

Wallabies centres must dare to dare

To be honest i think the reds have a very high chance of making the finals due to two results that need to go their way. If the bulls beat the sharks this week and the chiefs beat the hurricanes next week, providing we win the rest of our matches, we’re in. Simple as that. Also the brumbies only need to lose one and we top the Aus conference. So much for everyone saying there will be only one undeserving Australian team in the finals!

Super Rugby season gets even more unpredictable

But then again, i know you dont like McCabe but atm there’s so many flaky players in the line up that a player like McCabe is needed to keep the backline consistent. JOC i think is fairly consistent but KB and QC on their day are horrendous. If Australia wants to play that creative, spotaneous style of backline play then i think McCabe’s stabilisation is key for creativity at 10,14,15

The evolution of the rugby backline

Robdog, when Leali’ifano comes back he would be my no.12. And maybe move McCabe to 13, if not my good mate Tapuai. Can’t agree with AAC like you said the other day haha, perfect bench player but has lacked effectiveness over the last 2 years

The evolution of the rugby backline

no johnathan davies? He was the best centre in the six nations, not saying i’d have him in front of Roberts or tuilagi though. Am i right or wrong that Paul O’Connel didnt play in the six nations? is he injured or retired?. I do agree with you with the lack of english players. I’m in the process of my own lions team and they’re just no world beaters in their team anymore.

Welsh whitewash would leave the Lions without a map

yeah i see what you mean, those two are huge. Tomane at 13 seems a good short term option for the lions series but as we can both see the future is hazy. Definitely agree with the rugby league idea, jeez. I wrote an article on Rugby league players in a union team last year. Luke Lewis inside, Greg inglis outside. both huge, both can pass and both are smashing defenders. And they’re only two, there are heaps of league players that can players that could play centres in union. I know it’s said a lot but i often lose my train of thought when imagine Australia with only one football code

Wallabies team for third Test

agreed but i think tapuai is good enough for 13 and with barnes’ defence at 10 JOC at 12? So many options its good when you think about it but it’d be easier if we had that game breaking centre who could tear defences about but as you said there are players in the future that will be able to do that, i guess we’ll just have to have patience
