I don’t doubt his ability at all, in fact I think he would be the better option. However, I don’t believe Daley will be chancing his arm on a bloke that has been a first choice hooker for 5 games in his career.

NSW Blues halves pairing looking very murky

You’d have to be extremely naive to believe that Peats honestly has a chance in playing Origin this year. He’s played 5 games of footy this year (he was suspended from one game) and yeah he’s been in good form but when you’ve got blokes like Ennis and Gidley who are experienced origin campaigners you’d be silly to think they’re not the front runners.

And the veteran spinner retired mid series, both replaced by Monty Panesar

Comparing the 2006/07 Ashes to the 2013/14 series

Being a queenslander i’m actually excited about the waratahs next year. Cheika’s hardnose approached is sure to make a few highly talented players play to their potential and will also allow the team to play for the whole 80min. Both Timani’s especially i think will be able to develop into great players.
Agree the team will look alright, as far as i can see an inside centre is all that is missing
1. Robinson
2. TPN
3. Kepu
4. Timani
5. Douglas
6. Dennis
7. Hooper
8. Palu
9. McKibbon
10. Foley
11. Mitchell
12. ?
13. AAC
14. Turner
15. Barnes

Anyone who would suggest Rob Horne as either centre is a fool. Tom carter maybe? 😛

Wallabies must keep winning after responding to fans' message

I’d say very high. I’ve looked at the injury toll from super rugby – Aus 116, NZ 85, SA 79. And from the RC Aus 13, SA 5/6 and NZ only 3. Something is very very wrong with the management of these athletes.

Alexander forced out of Wallabies squad

I’m a reds supporter and to be honest i’d rather see Kepu at 3 with Slipper on the bench. As you said Kepu is the better scrummager which is what you need early on and Slipper’s pace and workrate for a prop is excellent.

Alexander forced out of Wallabies squad

i agree Kuridrani is a massive talent and has a lot of potential. Only 21 years old, 196cm, 100kg and he’s quick. I’m not sure our Betham has been playing but I know he certainly hasn’t been able to hold down a super rugby starting spot let alone a bench spot. I do hope he’s getting some good experience in the ITM cup though.

Wing crisis claims eight Test finishers

That Cummins knock-on was Samo’s fault. He was waiting to receive it early and scoot away down the sideline but Samo held it too long so Cummins overran it and it went behind him.

Wallabies hold on to win in Argentina

Lats, Tapuai played 13 in all his games for the reds this year and although i think he is suited to 12 , there’s no doubt he would be fine at 13. That being said having a player like McCabe at inside centre will hamper his ability to make an impact.

CAMPO: Australian rugby at the lowest ebb I've ever seen it

Every single one of them has been part of a wallabies squad in the last year, except leali’ifano who would easily be the wallabies 5/8 if he wasn’t injured

CAMPO: Australian rugby at the lowest ebb I've ever seen it

i’d love to think that but sharpe as been playing 5 and TImani has been playing 4…
Mogg could be an option for 15?

Wallabies team to play Argentina announced

i don’t think there’s a difference between non passing centres and centres that can’t pass just to clear that up haha.

Anything is an improvement on Berrick’s method of retaining possession. I agree with all of what you’ve said Harry. Especially Greg Holmes. We really need some mongrel in that front row, and Robinson has none. I’ve been one of Ben Alexander’s biggest doubters but he’s playing pretty well and I don’t think the props were given enough praise by Roarers for the scrum performance. Everyone was saying their scrum wasn’t fantastic but it’s sure as hell been better than Australia’s for a while. Dennis has been fairly anonymous in most of the games but he still deserves a bench spot. I would even have Ben Lucas in a best Australian 22 for a utility player/halfback, don’t know how Sheehan was selected in front of him even though Ben was selected for last years trip to Europe. Tapuai’s non selection is most baffling, easily the best centre in Australia, not even playing. Unexplainable. Lastly, even as a red’s fan I can’t agree with Morahan. He’s really too soft and doesnt seem to have an impact, perhaps Foley? I don’t want to add any more waratahs though. But… as usual, centres that cant pass, soft locks, wrong selection at 6, non-passing centres. When will it end?

without your man Timani, KPM, i can’t see this pack hurting anyone but the St. Mary’s U13 girls side. Understanding what Robbie is thinking is like trying to understand women, simply impossible. I am really, really scared that we will be very, very embarrassed come saturday night.

Wallabies team to play Argentina announced

i think that statement is unjustified

The “Australia doesn’t have the cattle” myth – Part 1 (Piggies)

i dont think there’s much point comparing the tight five at all, rugby league is a much faster game and most forwards are leaner and faster and suit anywhere from 6-15. That being said, I’m all for the development of rugby through grassroots, schoolboys, etc but at the moment there simply isn’t enough high quality supply to meet the current demands. Until we have our own 3rd tier national competition and an U21 Super Rugby Tournament our stocks will continue to disappoint. Unfortunately for these mistakes to be realised something terrible has to happen first a lah the 2011 Ashes series. But for the time being I think many NRL players would awesome in Union.

Not many of these players would be picked over current wallabies but this would be an NRL union team from 6-15.

6. Myles (might a bit slow, could go for Tariq Sims, Tamou or Ellis)
7. Gallen
8. T-Rex
9. Farah (Smith would be way too slow and i’m confused of everyone’s view of his possible capabilities in union.)
10. Cronk
11. Uate
12. Lewis (Foran, Dave Taylor, G Stewart, Bird could be here too)
13. Inglis
14. Slater
15. Hayne

19. T Sims
20. Benji/JT
21. D Taylor
22. Josh Morris

Rugby lacks the talent of rugby league

youre right they’re both heads down bums up workmanlike players. i guess if they changed their physique to carrying less weight and more muscle they could maybe play lock.

Rugby lacks the talent of rugby league

i agree Enright, whenever i think of rugby league players into union, there’s no way you can compare the tight five. Nate Myles is more of a 6, Paul Gallen a 7 and Kasiano an 8. Conversely, i think Higginbotham/Dennis would play second row, Dave Pocock would play lock and Palu would play front row.

Rugby lacks the talent of rugby league

FOS i think Leali’ifano deserves his spot as he has the ability to ignite the backline as well as play it conservative when needed. I think with cooper at full confidence he could play 10, Leali’ifano 12 and tapuai 13. i also wouldnt mind 12 O’Connor, Tapuai 13; Tapuai 12 and Cummins 13 or Tapuai 12, Inman 13.
I know your a die hard reds supporter FOS and so am i but you cant deny anymore that Timani has to be playing for the wallabies for the pack to have any element of size and aggression.

Robbie Deans and Wallabies must beat Springboks at Perth

This would be my team
1. Holmes
2. Moore
3. Kepu
4. Horwill
5. Sharpe
6. Higginbotham
7. Pocock
8. Palu
9. Genia
10. Cooper
11. Ioane
12. Leali’ifano
13. Tapuai
14. O’Connor
15. Beale

16. TPN
17. Slipper
18. Timani
19. Samo/Hooper/Gill/Mowen/Dennis
20. White
21. McCabe/A Fainga’a
22. AAC

Wallabies better, but still not good enough

Channel 9 hasn’t failed to disappoint within 5 min. Spelt “Ben Robinson” in the line up instead of benn. And counting down from 15 in the lineups, the captions above the players read “15 – Fullback,14- Wing, 13- Wing, 12 – Outside Centre, 11- Inside Centre. Oh man channel 9, just give it up already

Wallabies vs All Blacks: Bledisloe Cup live scores, blog

i agree 100%, i just posted that above without even seeing your comment haha. I’ve seen that combo now several times from roarers, and i cant see much wrong with it.

Wallabies in 3D: desire, discipline, and defence?

it really does defy belief that tapuai and cummins were cut. I’m a massive reds fan like you red kev but i dont think cooper is the man for the AB’s, the pressure would be too much him. Barnes has a cool-head and seems to rise to the occasion in test matches where he isn’t succumbed to a ridiculous game plan. I’m looking forward to fainga’a back at 12 i think he will shut down SBW quite well but Horne vs Nonu will be an absolute nightmare. Injuries have been terrible for us this year and if we dont win we cant be too disappointed. I just cant wait until this backline runs out one today.

9 – Genia
10- Cooper
11- Ioane
12- Lealli’ifano
13- Tapuai
14 – O’Connor
15- Beale

21- McCabe
22 – Tomane

(count the waratahs there?)

Wallabies in 3D: desire, discipline, and defence?

andrew smith as a candidate for 13, not better than tapuai, cummins, fainga’a maybe better than inman.
Kuridrani is a bit ambitious but he has a lot of potential
