Cameron, Hughes averages more at three than opening
It's time we all forgot about Phil Hughes
@ Muttoman
Hughes averages the best at 3 in his test career ( apart from number 5 where he played one game) following are his averages:
Opener: 34.58
Number 3: 37.2
Number 4: 1.00
Number 5: 81.00
ASHES: Talking points from day one at the WACA
Hughes has hit two centurys in three matches away from Adelaide.
Hughes should replace Watson in South Africa
Thank you for that, very helpful for future reference.
I’d just like to point out that Hughes has the most runs at the highest average in the first list.
Hughes should replace Watson in South Africa
Hughes has got 2 hundreds and 2 fifties in 5 matches against South Africa.
Hughes should replace Watson in South Africa
I think Bailey has done better. He has averaged 30 and Watson has averaged under 20. Watson has done well with the ball but under 20 is not good enough at 3.
Hughes should replace Watson in South Africa
He’s scored 2 centurys and two half centurys
Hughes should replace Watson in South Africa
In that series we had Doherty: enough said

What do you think about Joe Mennie, Ronan
The Gabba: Australia's fortress and crucial to an Ashes victory
A punter.
Mennie has a better average than Cutting
Joe Mennie should get an Ashes start
Sorry just realised that Faulkner also has a better strike rate than Mennie but he gets his wickets at the most bowler-friendly pitch in Australia, while Mennie gets his at the most batter- friendly pitch in Australia.
Joe Mennie should get an Ashes start
Khawaja is not good enough to play test cricket, its that simple. He just can’t play spin.
Klinger has left his Ashes run too late
How about Dan cullen, Mark Cosgrove, Graham Manou, Callum Ferguson, Peter George and Shaun Tait
How can WA cricket reclaim old glory?
The line up should be:
Watson
Rogers
Hughes/ Khawaja
Clarke
Khawaja/ Hughes
Smith/ Warner
Haddin
Pattinson
Harris
Lyon
Bird
12th man: Warner because hes good at fielding
Batting coming together under Boof, now for the bowlers
Watson should be banned immediately. The AFL has to do something about it.
Watson? More like Watsoff about Jobe
Are you prepared to throw a player that has never played for Australia in any format into the first ashes test?
That’s a lot of pressure…
Lehmann has done a Lazarus job, already
Looking into the near future Rogers, Harris and Haddin will all retire. I would replace Rogers with Hughes but I would put Watson opener and Hughes at first drop. This way they are both at the positions where they average the most in test cricket. If Bailey doesn’t earn his spot in the next two matches then I would put Smith at number six and Clarke at number five. I would give the free number four spot to the batsman whoever shows the best form in the second half of the shield out of Maddinson or Silk. I would then do two straight swaps for Haddin and Harris bringing in Wade and Pattinson. In case you are lost the team now would be: Watson, Warner, Hughes, Maddinson/Silk, Clarke, Smith, Wade, Johnson, Pattinson, Siddle, Lyon
The next group of players to retire would be Watson, Clarke and Johnson. I would move Silk up to opener and put Maddinson at number 4. Because Watson is out I would bring In Faulkner for Clarke and put him at seven, moving Smith and Wade up a spot. I would then replace Johnson for Starc. This would leave the team as: Silk, Warner, Hughes, Maddinson, Smith, Wade, Faulkner, Starc, Pattinson, Siddle, Lyon
Eventually Siddle woud retire and I would replace him with Mcdermott or Cutting
It's time we all forgot about Phil Hughes
