There are 2 Sports I love more than the rest Cricket and Rugby. I also like Rugby League, football(soccer) and occasionally other sports.

When it comes to batting between Australia and New Zealand in the upcoming test series, it will be which team can score runs in the middle order. I think australia has a slight edge in that department. Bowling is about the same, with australia having slightly stronger wicket taking spinners. When it comes to the batting I would like to see NZ rely less on Kane Williamson getting the runs in test cricket.

Smith's time is up: Selectors miss golden chance to look to the future with short-sighted leadership decision

It would be great for test cricket to somehow make Pakistan, South Africa and New Zealand as consistent in tests as the big three of Australia, India and England in terms of winning percentage. This is a monumental task though.

How Test cricket can shake off five stages of grief to not only survive but soldier on for another 150 years

It’s quite easy to merge the bbl and NZ’s super smash. Might have to add a couple of extra australian sides to make NZ competitive though, add Canberra, a second Perth team and the Gold Coast.

Talk is cheap: Only real investment can stop Test cricket ending up like rugby league

Right after the month of the world cup nz played bangladesh in bangladesh in a two test series. They then came home to NZ to play 3 odi’s and 3 t20’s. In January NZ has 5 t20’s against Pakistan. Then after that is the 2 tests against South Africa, 3 t20’s against Australia and 2 tests against Australia in NZ.

‘Is this a defining moment in the death of Test cricket’: Steve's right to be on Waughpath over pathetic Proteas squad

This is a bit premature as we don’t know how australia are going to perform in NZ later in the summer. We know how great australia are at home in test match cricket. NZ conditions might test them in the batting department.

Gap's never been wider between cricket’s Big Three haves and the have-nots ... and it’s only getting worse

Hopefully one day the bbl merges with nz’s super smash. Everybody plays each other once. The bbl adds Canberra, a second Perth team, the gold coast. Then you’ve really got a good competition. NZ teams might need an extra overseas international per team though just until they get used to the bbl.

If you combined Auckland and Northern Districts this is the team you would get.

Time for Test cricket fans to do the annual ‘give BBL a try’ merry dance - it's not for everyone ... and that's OK

Fully agree, NZ also need to perform better in subcontinent conditions also.

Do Australians love Test cricket or just watching the baggy green side win at home pretty much all the time?

The icc, should imagine it wouldn’t cost too much, except maybe travel costs, accommodation etc.

What would make NZ better at test cricket is if they got used to australian conditions. I propose canning NZ’s Plunket Shield and adding NZ teams to the australian domestic comp. Of course the NZ teams would get flogged at first but overtime they would get better. It would expose up and coming NZ players to some of the best test players in the world.

My mum once boasted that the wallabies were going to lose an all blacks test in wellington when talking to Herbert, eales and Gregan. She jinxed the all blacks that day, Herbert scored the opening try. The conversation was had at sydney airport(true story) and I gave my mum a hard time afterward.lol

'What a shame': McLennan GONE as Rugby Australia name World Cup-winner chairman to bookend wild year

Hamilton is better because then there is the rivalry with auckland. Assuming the warriors revert back to being called the auckland warriors. Hamilton would need a couple of Australian players though as it hasn’t got the depth auckland has.

Madge-ic: Kiwis 'shock the rugby league world' as Maguire masterclass hands Kangaroos record defeat

I bought a green zone ticket on the day and went because it was a warm sunny day. I have seen super rugby chiefs matches get smaller crowds than this occasionally. Hamilton is a rugby city. Sometimes rugby doesn’t get large crowds either.

What happens to the Bledisloe cup?. Currently australia and nz play 3 tests each year for it. I always thought it would be good to drop it down to 2. If the nations championship goes ahead the Bledisloe will be one single test a year I guess.

The final is not at eden park it’s apparently at fmg stadium in Hamilton. It’s advertised with tickets on sale at ticketek for there.

Pacific Championships Team Lists: Meninga delays decision on sick Munster, Jillaroos bring in new faces

As a nzer I would say the two best sides at this world cup are India and South Africa. Australia have just played the two hardest teams. It only gets easier for australia as the tournament progresses.

Twin DRS controversies leave Aussies fuming as latest collapse, fielding nightmare sum up huge loss to Proteas

Australia’s form in rugby actually hurts New Zealand in the future. We play Australia alot and we need Australia at its best. NZ may have to play northern hemisphere sides more often to get the competition we need or 3 matches each year against the Springboks and only 2 Bledisloe cup matches. Not sure what the solution will be.

'Bloody disappointed: Wallabies OUT of World Cup as nation to miss finals for first time, Eddie fights for survival

I think the main point of my statement is South Africa and England have beaten the all blacks at Twickenham in recent times.

'It stings, it hurts ... we got exposed': All Blacks alarm bells ringing after Springboks dish out worst EVER defeat

Wouldn’t read too much into it, Twickenham isn’t a happy hunting ground for the all blacks. Yes we won a world cup there but in between South Africa and England have beaten us there before. South Africa’s pool at the world cup is going to be interesting they will be tough to beat.

Test cricket is still popular in NZ but only on TV. Aside from boxing day tests, gate takings are low. T20 gate takings in NZ are much higher. The ashes was on free to air TV in NZ over our winter. I think the bbl and NZ’s super smash should merge together into one competition. It might free up space in the calendar everybody to play each other once. After all the only long flight for teams would be when the scorchers play in NZ or vice versa. The NZ test players pretty much don’t play in the super smash.

The death of Test cricket, and the Australian summer, is nigh

There are a lot of broncos and sea eagles fans in NZ. Warriors vs broncos would be great but Penrith are the team to beat. Can any team beat Penrith in a final, I’m not so sure.

ANALYSIS: Warriors grip on top four tightens with Tigers win - and Sheens fires up over bumper bars

There is hope chiefs have beaten the crusaders twice this year. The whole of Australia and most of New Zealand will be wanting the chiefs to win.

'Gutted': Five-minute horror period ends Brumbies' Super Rugby hopes as Chiefs set up final with Crusaders

Robertson should be able to rebuild the all blacks with the talent pool available from super rugby. If he can’t then perhaps All Blacks Management have chosen the wrong coach. Plenty of young talent in super rugby.

'It'd be a disaster': Outgoing All Blacks coach clashes with successor as tensions build

I feel that Ireland and too a lesser extent France are peaking too early. Australia will be better come world cup time as will the all blacks. Most people are writing off the all blacks based on their performance lately between the last world cup and now. The aim is to peak at the world cup not 1 or 2 years before. Only time will tell if my theory is correct.

Overlook the All Blacks at your peril: they are masters of reinvention and the smart money has never left them for RWC

Is there a reason all games this week are in Melbourne? Seems strange to me.

COMPLETE SRP Rd 2 teams: Wallabies wildcard's Tahs rebirth, Larkham sticks with halves combo, Reds' huge boost

It’s going to be entertaining when Australia comes for test matches here, our pitches have been green this year due to the heavy amount of rain. Last year they were dryier. Depending on the weather conditions you can get turning pitches at Auckland, Mt Maunganui and Christchurch and fast paced ones at Wellington, Dunedin and Hamilton. So it all depends where the test matches are held and at what time of the year.
