It’s interesting the term “Football act” is not tackling a Football act, I felt that many of the suspensions this year for tackles where a player’s head hit the ground were “unintentional” as well, and in many instances unavoidable, due to the force of the tackle and momentum of the tackled player prior to the collision his body can end up in an awkward position. The Tribunal sometimes uses Legal precedents to adjudicate on decisions, like for instance, the tort of negligence, but around finals time these precedents seem to be forgotten, feel like a lot of players who were suspended this year would look at this decision and feel a bit ripped off, I’m slightly ambivalent about the decision, I guess its how much of the rough stuff they want to stamp out of the game, do they want to reduce it to something like touch rugby, The game will continue to evolve down this path but unfortunately people haven’t, most of us want to see bravery and a bit of blood and guts, my local tavern is always Packed when the UFC is on

Today we have midweek city meetings at Sandown Warwick farm Belmont and Doomben, there is a country meeting in Mount Gambier, tomorrow its Bendigo Wagga Home Hill and Northam, not sure where you have been but i will confirm your suspicion yes us people who live in the country love our animals but no, lots of us want to race them myself and 80000 other people Australia wide work in the racing industry. you can pretend we don’t exist and hope we go away, Like the ABC does. very polarising,its kinda like going to Fox News website then go to CNN to completely different realities, a lot of country people rely on ABC for weather and Bushfire alerts but not much else these days. yes Gary the ABC has an agenda against horse racing and gambling too, you’d think them being lefties and all that they would be promoting a sport that males and females compete together on equal terms, but they only report when a horse dies, or somebody is cruel to their dogs, the only positive stories in the last ten years have been about Jamie Kah and Michelle Payne, the reporting may be balanced but returning to the same old agendas is predictable and somewhat tiresome, Ita’s gone now, you can rest easy bro!

i think Phil Egan was a poor choice, not because of the recent allegations, innocent until proven otherwise, but because he played for Richmond when they would be flogged by Hawthorn in the 80’s, Brereton and co openly admitted that they used to get under indigenous players skin to put them off their game, he may well have held onto some resentment from those times, but i suspect this is Jeff’s last parting shot at Clarkson, as he was unhappy with Alister’s list management over the last few years.

good analysis of the game, as a neutral i thought the saints were lucky with a few umpiring decisions that led to a couple of their goals,looked like the power were switched on in the first, i was already nervous cause i tipped against them. 2 teams in SA is enough, the AFL should have gone to Tassie and NT before having Suns and GWS. Trawling through the stats for a ray of hope as you do when your team has bottomed out, it seems the Hawks only win was in the midfield, they got it forward but Sydney intercepted and raced it down for a goal, that’s how it was for the whole game, the back six seem to have lost the ability to zone as they used to, might have something to do with Mitchel’s game plan, think it would have been wiser to have only offloaded only one of either Mitchel or O’Meara, they need to replace Jiath with Scrimshaw, He is an exciting player but he leaks goals.

agree the midfeid is thin, i’m more hopeful that Ward and others will develop this year we have had a stroke of luck with Newcome, looks as though McGuiness will have Tag role from Sheilds, I don’t rate Worpel, but I hope you are right, If Ward becomes a 25+ possession winner in midfeild then we only need another one or two like him to compete there, more excited about Tyler Brockman’s return than any other player at this stage.
