According to the Australian the contract is worth at least $3 million. So that’s $2.25 million to two players a year for the next four years at least. Others should look at going overseas and cashing in.

Hi Cliff they are related to my comment just above in response to big baz’s comments.

Wasn’t enough to keep them and Fuimaina. Then you have Luatua. These are the blokes you want to keep.

Particularly with a player who may not reach his peak. Too many unknowns.

Read the tea leaves, Michael Cheika

NZRU did this by offering 4 year deals to Ben Smith and Cory Jane while Charles Piatau, Aaron Cruden, Tawera Kerr Barlow, Lima Sapoaga and Melikai Fekitoa left in their prime.

Markus the Brumbies had a strong forward pack then who scored the bulk of the tries as they couldn’t trust the backs with the ball. Having watching that side lose the plot I don’t blame them.

Super Rugby you need to develop players to win. The Stormers went down the recruitment path despite having a superb local schools and club base to recruit from and it didn’t work. Luke Watson, Joe van Niekerk, Jaque Fourie, Bryan Habana, Duane Vermeulen, etc were brought in but didn’t win them a title.

Brumbies have got to get dumb decision making out of their game.

Turn up like they did for Beale and O’Connor?

Riddler he is right the Brumbies went down this path and it was a disaster.

The Wrap: Red cards ruining rugby? Think again

Exactly.

Time for Cricket Australia to end the Smith, Warner and Bancroft bans

‘I totally agree. The bans were totally over the top as was the reaction. The condition of the ball wasn’t altered according to the umpires. The attempt was amateurish and the guys, particularly Smith, were feeling hard done by.’

Then why would the players not be up front with the umpires and later on publicly at a press conference…. The SA production leader Fanie de Villiers a former test Cricketer knew that the Australian players were up to no good well before the sandpaper came out and got the cameras in hook, line and sinker.

Scariest thing is that South Africa used to be outsmarted by Australian Cricket and Rugby teams now it has turned around. We wonder why we are clueless and lose the rag when we can’t dig ourselves out of a hole.

Time for Cricket Australia to end the Smith, Warner and Bancroft bans

Absolutely. Unless they are still discussing it like good bureaucrats do there has been little to come out from the ICC in regards to this. Most of us would have got constant emails from the ACB in regards to the Cape Town incident and apparently to some they weren’t transparent at all. The ACB in what they could say publicly were quiet clear as to the player’s charges, punishment and that the players were entitled to legal representation to contest privately or publicly as stated in the release.

Time for Cricket Australia to end the Smith, Warner and Bancroft bans

Given that Warner has a lifetime leadership ban, was touted as the ringleader (clear his name), a family and is older than the other two players he had far more to lose from this. If anyone was going to challenge their ban it was Warner and he didn’t.

Keith did you read the charge sheet which for each player? Neither player took up the option of challenging the suspension as they were entitled to do.

I heard you the first time. It never looked like a good, solid and fair hit. Cane had been cited not so long before that for a shoulder charge to a Jaguares’ player’s head.

Then there was comments from Smith in the press conference about the leadership group which didn’t go down well with Starc and Hazlewood. The only two from the squad really to comment publicly about this.

Certain individuals who were involved with match fixing got life. Azharuddin, Cronje, etc. Still not related to ball tampering.
