Though I believe East Coast Positive is prefered in the community

The Roar's A-League Men tips and predictions: Round 26 - the jostle for finals positions is on in earnest

Yep, JackJumpers certainly show the power of parochialism…but im not sure the NBL offers any meaningful point of comparison…..What they celebrate as outrageous success is no healthier than our doomsday scenarios

The Roar's A-League Men tips and predictions: Round 26 - the jostle for finals positions is on in earnest

Sometime back there was a Tassie born poster on here who seemed convinced that it had no chance of success…that Hobart and Launceston were not big enough and that neither would support the others team….

But I guess that was back when we had higher expectations of our clubs than 5k attendences.

I’m willing to bet that when the season ends, Fabio will be revealed to be a Samba teacher from Florianopolis who has been taking part in a Brazilian reality tv show.

I predict that someone will buy a pie thats not quite warm enough in the middle….It will be Frank Lowy’s fault. The death of the A-league will be pronounced along with the onset of the apocalypse .
It will be forgotten and replaced by next weeks catastrophe when Allianz runs out of almond milk.

APL's spin doctoring insults Australian football fans' intelligence - and might well be the last straw

What an amazing achievement by the Mariners !!!!….. Notably zero interest from the MSM or this site’s eds..

Not interested….tell me about the Mariners!

I vaguely remember a very short news clip of Milos Ninkovic in a badly fitting tux…his wife is classy.

Not needing something…or even wanting, is no impediment to having a whinge on the internet.

Its an astonishing spend on something that would almost exclusively be professional services….so much so that I have to wonder if theres any truth to the number.

Seriously, if you’re reduced to quoting Waz then it’s probably time to book a holiday Mike.

It's time the APL came clean on the state of the game in the A-Leagues

Nicely played Stu….took me a couple of paragraphs to tune into the satire…..

It says a great deal about the current APL (and good satire) that it had uncomfortable level of believability.

Touche!

Does the A-League have the clout to make a UK-bound event round work in season 2024/25?

Strangely as a Spurs fan I find myself hoping for an Gooners win.

I have no animosity towards him, but the Curse of Harry Kane is just too funny a story for it not to come true.

Yes, much to my shame .
Fortunately my parents died without ever knowing.

How can the APL convince casual fans the A-League Men is worth supporting?

I don’t live in Melb….but Team 11 seemed to be a no brainer , I wonder what really happened behind the scenes with the bids.
Likewise MC need to develop an identity beyond ” we’re not Victory”….is it too inconceivable to relocate them to the south-east?

…so an unreliable memoir!

I’m perfectly happy with a little creative license.

Season 1-10ish I went to every Sydney FC I could…including away games in NSW.
These days I only make it to 4 or 5 games a season in total…and to make things worse I live 10 mins walk away from the SFS.
Why?…well I’m not exactly sure, I never made a conscious decision about it, I just got out of the habit.
Contributing factors?….life, work, cost…odd scheduling, not just kick off times but the fact that the draw has no observable logic or structure…
I would have bought a season ticket to Stadion Neu Allianz…but the place I like to sit is all corporate now…..Match day sales are a mess with it being unclear if tickets are sold or being witheld for later release…and in the end it’s often free on TV….
And a glut of streaming options for OS leagues…I probably am actually watching more football these days, just not IRL.
The expanded league has, from my perspective has just left us with more missable games….
And I’ll out myself as a theatre-goer which is now poisonously expensive….but I’d rather see an interesting new play than a snooze fest against Perth in an empty stadium.
So if you have any ideas run them by me… because I’m one of the people who has stopped coming.
What I can assure you though ..it’s not because my club hasnt engaged with me.
