Nicely played Stu….took me a couple of paragraphs to tune into the satire…..

It says a great deal about the current APL (and good satire) that it had uncomfortable level of believability.

Touche!

Does the A-League have the clout to make a UK-bound event round work in season 2024/25?

Strangely as a Spurs fan I find myself hoping for an Gooners win.

I have no animosity towards him, but the Curse of Harry Kane is just too funny a story for it not to come true.

UCL Preview: A blockbuster in Bavaria, Real troubles for Man City and PSG revisit the scene of the crime

Yes, much to my shame .
Fortunately my parents died without ever knowing.

How can the APL convince casual fans the A-League Men is worth supporting?

Fabiiiiiii….oh, : (

I don’t live in Melb….but Team 11 seemed to be a no brainer , I wonder what really happened behind the scenes with the bids.
Likewise MC need to develop an identity beyond ” we’re not Victory”….is it too inconceivable to relocate them to the south-east?

…so an unreliable memoir!

I’m perfectly happy with a little creative license.

Season 1-10ish I went to every Sydney FC I could…including away games in NSW.
These days I only make it to 4 or 5 games a season in total…and to make things worse I live 10 mins walk away from the SFS.
Why?…well I’m not exactly sure, I never made a conscious decision about it, I just got out of the habit.
Contributing factors?….life, work, cost…odd scheduling, not just kick off times but the fact that the draw has no observable logic or structure…
I would have bought a season ticket to Stadion Neu Allianz…but the place I like to sit is all corporate now…..Match day sales are a mess with it being unclear if tickets are sold or being witheld for later release…and in the end it’s often free on TV….
And a glut of streaming options for OS leagues…I probably am actually watching more football these days, just not IRL.
The expanded league has, from my perspective has just left us with more missable games….
And I’ll out myself as a theatre-goer which is now poisonously expensive….but I’d rather see an interesting new play than a snooze fest against Perth in an empty stadium.
So if you have any ideas run them by me… because I’m one of the people who has stopped coming.
What I can assure you though ..it’s not because my club hasnt engaged with me.

Why exactly is SS exercising his right to personal choice problematic?

Spurs put on a masterclass of entirely ineffectual possession football…..73% worth of sideways faffing around.

'I was concerned with all of it': Ange sounds form warning as Spurs drop out of UCL spots after thrashing, City go top

Funnily enough clubs are focused on collecting points…..strange world!

A-League clubs air grievances after Nestory Irankunda's shock snubbing of Olyroos duty

Surely Frank Lowy is somehow involved in the as well.

Yes, Sydney enjoying the protection of 5 highly questionable red cards this season as well.

Yet another example of blatant South Coast Bias!!!

At least it’s good to see they have a solutions based mindset….rather than the perpetual whining from our red cousins.

Wristbands are a bit dull though…..I vote for Public Enemy style clocks on chains 🙂

Irankunda sensationally turns down Olyroos spot in baffling update - and Vidmar left in lurch on eve of qualifying

From all accounts the kid isn’t very smart, isn’t very mature….but then few athletes are.

He’s about to move to the other side of the world, alone, into a new language and new culture…into a very , very, conservative and conspicuously white community. These are sizeable challenges for mature professionals let alone kid footballers.

He deserves the space to focus fully on those challenges.

Is that for policing purposes….or is it some new gender identity thing?

Ridiculous isn’t it ….what’s next GT7?

That and far too many flags of convenience. The last Mexican softball squad had 17 Americans in it, only 2 Mexicans.

Theres still enough real sport to keep me interested for the moment..but my interest is becoming much more selective.

The Olympics would be a wonderful experience, but you have to imagine he will prioritise his first pre-season at a new club.

To 119th ranked Tanzania ?…
or 140th ranked Burundi ?….
both of whom have never qualified for the WC finals?.

Rodwell is the best player in the league…. when he actually plays. It’s amazing to watch him closely, he always knows what he is planning to do with the ball before he receives it.
Such a shame his body is so fragile.

Mariners close in on premiership, derby delight for Victory, Irankunda omitted from Olyroos
