What a navel gazing RANT.

This is why fans of football should be very wary of Brendan Gale and the suggestion he could take over from Gil because he’d likely try and turn it into something like the failed European soccer super league under the guise of it being good for the fans.

You want to know what’s got no soul? Everything that’s come out of Richmond the past couple of months. Precious? No. Self entitled, self serving, soapbox grandstanding.

If a Richmond fan wants to know what everyone’s thinking, imagine West Coast coming out and saying this rubbish.

Are Tigers fans precious about Marvel Stadium?

What nonsense. The legacy of Selwood won’t stop when he retires. He’s as much a part of the fabric of the club from now on. He’s got a couple of brothers in the back room recruiting and coaching and I dare say he will have a role when he’s ready.

You look at these players from other clubs as mercenaries, we look at them coming home – Danger, Rohan, Dalhaus, Higgins and Cameron – they’re all local boys. Throw in the likes of Menegola who no one wanted, same as Jenkins a couple of Irish boys, one from Carlton, who along with Henderson were offered raw contracts in an organisation that was mismanaging and what does that leave you Isaac Smith chasing one more flag. If he’s your mercenary, then we’re happy for the IP.

And if your worried about our soul, just have a look who’s in the coaches box and who’s likely next coach in line Scarlett. Why don’t you tell him there’s going to be no soul down geelong when Selwood and Hawkins leave.

Why 2021 is this Geelong side's last shot at premiership glory

Esava just needs to consistently clunk some marks and get his confidence back shooting for goals. I suspect his runs in the ruck have pushed his endurance. Another season and preseason under his belt and there’s hope. Geelong have Otten’s as the ruck coach so they’ve got the right man there, sometimes I just think Chris Scott demands a bit much from a ruckman, but who am I to judge him.

The real thing that gets me is Chris Scott is superb at developing plans to combat opposition teams, but he hasn’t been able to against the current Tigers unit. Higgins and Smith with a healthy and focused Clarke should give them that outside run and penetrating delivery that could be the secret. Then I for one would put Blicavs tagging on Dusty like he did a couple of time’s on Pendlebury. He has the speed and strength to match him and he likes a simple job that he can really focus on

Why 2021 is this Geelong side's last shot at premiership glory

The ruck Geelong actually look like they’ve finally bitten the bullet and decided to look to develop someone with Sam de Koning, Shannon Neale and rookie Tsapatolis to go with Esava and Darcy Fort.

That’s exactly it. And this years draft will not be the mystery the 2020 draft was. Even so Wells seemed to know exactly where a diamond was to be found in the 2020 draft and reports are already positive particularly with Nick Stevens

Yes when Hawkins goes where will we get a key for… no wait that’s right we just recruited the 2019 Coleman medalist. And didn’t we reach a grand final without Selwood’s usual commanding performance. This all looks like more wishing Geelong will fail rather than analysis.

There’s a cluster of young kids that can’t get a game, but they’ll get opportunities this year while Geelong implement their squad approach to a fuller year with longer quarters.

He’s never been a lockdown defender, he’s played intercept goal keeper as a defender

JK and West Coast with 11 games is ambitious as a prediction at the moment too

The fallacies behind Collingwood's trade reasoning

Divide and diminish: The AFL’s failed decade in Queensland

It would be quite something to beat the Tigers by that margin on Friday.

Another slight error by omission is Geelong played two games in Sydney – the pre-lockdown GWS game and the traditional SCG match up with Brisbane. ;). That might prove interesting if our first final is against them at the Gabba. The margin was a couple of goals and playing at Brisbane’s home ground is surely worth that amount.

Geelong can take another big step this year

Who'll end up really winning the Tim Kelly trade?

COVID-19 will change Rugby League irrevocably in the next 3 years. They’re reliant on TV money and they won’t be able to compete with the soccer spend let alone AFL.

V'landys is out of touch and losing his battle with AFL and rugby

Seriously! You have never played AFL if that’s your thinking. It is so much more physically demanding than you could imagine.

Well it’s not North Queensland if that’s what you mean

Well you’ve sure got your opinions. How many League teams will survive 3 years?

AFL is the number 4 most attended sport per match in the WORLD not state, not country.

Last year across the state at some level 265,000 people participated in some way in AFL. That’s why the Suns are getting their millions from head office. https://www.aflq.com.au/afl-participation-in-queensland-reaches-record-high/

AFL top 100: Geelong versus Hawthorn

Could it be that Lumumba, Malthouse and Buckley are all in the right here? There was racism, Malthouse didn’t know, but Buckley knew the culture and player attitudes absolutely needed to change.

The throwing Eddie under the bus comment is for me the one that feels like pretty poor form. Eddie three homself under that bus then back the bus over himself.

Malthouse slams Buckley over Lumumba

Not just press conference every message coming from Richmond is coached the same way.

Cotchin 2017 head high bump on Shiel

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Preliminary finals

As mentioned it’s a PR exercise, they never miss a chance to mention it, even you must be sick of the narrative.

Ok how about Cotchin? Oh wait that’s already happened before.

Richmond full stop. So here and there. Hardwick today “after what we’ve overcome this year with the injuries”. Honestly give it a rest. God forbid if what happened to Greene happened to Dusty.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Preliminary finals

Mate all year we’ve heard this Tigers tripe about the injuries – David King had a list on AFL 360 at the time about the clubs most effected by injury based on ratings – Tigers were fourth behind WC, Pies and GWS.

All I’m saying is if this is the Tigers narrative for the year, they’ve got. Bloody good PR team.
