Good point with Slater. Although I dare say he is probably stinging for it after coming so close to another title last year. If he had not been injured and had gone to Rio he probably would have taken it out.

Fair point. Perhaps they are thinking even more long term towards the ashes- trying to give as many quicks as much test level experience as possible? 10 ashes tests in a row will require depth in fast bowlers, which we now have in abundance, but some of them lack experience at test level.

Yep Billabong dropped it to “seek to identify cost savings”, its now a qualifying event for the World Championship Tour, rather than an event on tour. As yet I don’t think another sponsor has picked it up yet.
