Very good points Rick. There will always be push back on new techniques and change. Nothing wrong with the crouch at all, but just about every coach that I have been involved with has a mental block of established procedures regarding the squat.
Would like to see some of the better keepers trying the crouch method, but it is probably too late.

To squat or not: Why are wicketkeepers maintaining redundant positions?

What is wrong with trying to manufacture a spin bowler. That’s what Lyon totally is, just a combo of input from various coaches and “experts”, and hardly anything original.

The 12-man squad that Australia should have picked for Sydney

The short episode in the game when Smith and Maddison bowled was just laughable. Smith is not a serious bowler these days and just bowls lolli drops now. Maddison looked like he was practising for next weeks T20 with his rapid fire tripe. Smith just gave away runs to Pakistan and undid some excellent pace efforts in at least controlling the run rate. Ali and Shafiq will know what Christmas presents look like now. If these bowling options are in preference to a all rounder or fith bowler then we are in trouble . This cannot go on.
Our spin bowler just cannot bowl to the captains plans either, really cannot blame Smith for not backing him.

Bowling to tail-enders could could cost Australia the second Test this morning

Why would we need a spin coach for 1 bowler, who is supposed to be the GOAT. Surely Lehmann can see the obvious.

When is Lyon ever going to wrap up a game for us. The crowds usually cheer the team dunce and it was on again in Brisbane.

Nathan Lyon and Jackson Bird stopped Pakistan winning at the Gabba

I found this test uninteresting as a day night fixture. Two innings of sloppy batting, a slogfest third and a dreary last. Looked like the crowd was 50% drunken hoons although the camera loved this aspect raher than the cricket.
Even Smith is now converted because he had a win, saying it is here to stay, right down the CA lines.
If that is the best DN cricket can offer it will not last long, and crowds will depart, unless we keep winning of course.
Bring back cricket played under natures gift of radiant sunshine.

Night cricket works, let's stick with it

That’s a lot of Euros getting knocked back. Well done Rory.
If that’s the sort of dosh for a year in France we will losing a few more.

Australian rugby locks in Rory Arnold with new three-year deal

He is in the record books with great company. An impressive effort.

Pakistan's smiling leggie Yasir Shah a record breaker, even at age 30

Another pink ball disaster. Johnson is correct it is un-test like but good for egos when we win.

We still have the batting weakness at 6, Maddinson is obviously not the answer because we might as well have Mitch Marsh batting 6 and playing a second spinner. Before we indulge in a victory that cries out for an unchanged side our selectors need to think a bit and give someone else a go. Plenty to choose from.

Pakistan fall apart as dropped catches lose matches, frustrate bowlers

Have to agree with view of John Eales’ media role. I could understand his appearances if he was discussing board issues or ARU direction, but as an attempted TV journalist he does appear more as a plant and pacifier.

The Wallabies need to change for 2017, but don't hold your breath

Bailey out. Head to 4 and Maxwell to 5. Marsh if he has to remain at 6. Simple.

Maxwell misses out again on Australian selection

I suppose if you get thumped you may as well be humble about it all.

Kiwis bemoan ODI series sweep but praise Australia at home

There was no way Maxwell and Wade would play together in this series. In fact for the first time in years the Australian “leadership” has gone out of its way not to rest or rotate players whereas previously Lehmann would be bubbling over with the great opportunity for Australian cricket that it would be.
Next time Wade and Maxwell will play together maybe in the Shield games next February? What a joke.
