1st Pick of the 2nd round goes to the Buck, Damien Inglis from France, nice young SF. Project player, unlikely to see him in the NBA this season.

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

From Wade’s perspective he would be crazy to opt out, no way he makes that kind of money in Free Agency. depends on how much he buys in to the sacrifice for the greater good.

That Ends the First round. Some big winners so far are the Top 3 picks.
Cleveland and Milwaukee got guys that should make an instant poistive impact in Wiggins and Parker.
76ers playing the long game by taking potenailly the best player in the draft. If he and Noel pan out and heal properly from their injuries they will have an amazing defensive front court.

I like the Picks Utah have made in Exum and Rodney Hood, Exum has the potential to be a big name player and Hood is a very nice peice for them.

Miami was a big winner, that Shabazz pick will certainly endear LeBron James and I think he is already a better PG than any they currently have on their roster.

I think Toronto had a horrible 1st round, Lowry likely to get a big deal and could leave and picked a player that would be lucky to have been drafted at all inside the Top 20 in a really strong draft. I think they will rue that pick

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

The San Antonio Spurs select Kyle Anderson from UCLA. A SF rated as the best passer in the whole draft. Similar size to Boris Diaw. Can see San Antonio grooming him to play a similar role.

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Yeah i agree, but if Wade and Bosh don’t opt out of there contracts James isnt going to pin his hopes on a rookie PG no matter how much he likes him. They need more cap flexibility to sign pieces. If Wade and Bosh take the money James almost certainly leaves. If they opt out as well and give Miami some flexability he’ll be back

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

OKC selecting with 29th pick Josh Huestis. A defenisve specialist from Stanford. looks like a nice player but I’m not sure thats the type of player needed. Jeremy Lamb will need to have a breakout year offensivly for them

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

The Los Angeles Clippers select CJ Wilcox with the 28th pick. A specialist scorer, should add some wing depth to play of Chris Paul.
But there isn’t a lot of size on the perimeter. Can see a trade coming to possibly make a play at LeBron James.

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Pheonix Suns picking again with the 27th pick select Bogdan Bogdanovic. A Euroleague Guard of the Year and won the Rising Star award. I like this pick for them a Jack of all trades guard. Might not be over straight away but a good draft for the Suns so far.

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Miami takes PJ Hairston with the 26th pick. Hairston comes out of North Carolina but played in the D-League last year. A prolific scorer in the D-League, great shooter. Almost certainly being traded to Charlotte for Napier. If he ends up in Charlotte should be a nice player. Will spread the floor for them. Extra offence on the perimeter

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Yeah i’m pretty disapointed. Really don’t like Miami that much and I was really hoping that Napier managed to fall the the Hornets for that Kemba reunion.

But LeBron got what he wanted and if Bosh and Wade opt out of their contracts LeBron will almost certainly stay.

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Houtson picking with the 25th pick select Clint Capela a PF from Switzerland. I can’t see him playing for Houston this year though. Houston are clearing as much cap space as they can for a run in free agency.

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Well take that back, word from Shabazz’s agent is that Miami have made a trade for him. That is even better for him. Goes straight into a winning environment. Miami have gotten a fantastic player. LeBron rates this guys as well. Becoming more likely that LeBron stays in South Beach

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Charlotte Hornets take Shabazz Napier with the 24th pick. I really like this pick. A winner in college, won NCAA championship. All the PG skills you need. Led his team in rebounding and plays tough defence. Also allows Kemba Walker to play off the ball and be a scorer for Hornets.

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Utah with the 23rd pick take Rodney Hood. Led the ACC in 3pt shooting at 42%. Nice size, left handed SF. Love this pick, lottery level talent. Giving Exum and Burke shooting to spread the floor.

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

They may not need to trade up at this rate, some left field picks since the 20th pick.

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Exactly OKC really need plays that can make teams pay for packing the paint on them, like the Spurs did in the WCF. Can never have enough shooting on a team

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Memphis take Jordan Adams with the 22nd pick. A scoring SG, I found him a player that didnt alot of things ok but nothing great. I again would have looked at Rodney Hood.

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

OKC pick Mitch McGary with the 21st pick. Multi skilled big man. Good passer and rebounder. Should provide intagibles for OKC, i Like the pick for OKC but I would have picked Rodney Hood. He would have provded some shooting and then pick McGary with the 29th Pick

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

He would be a massive upgrade from Chalmers and Cole. Miami don’t have alot off desirable assets to make that trade though.

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Toronto picking 20th I’m sure they were high on picking Tyler Ennis but now that he is in Pheonix they have picked Bruno Caboclo from Brazil. Described as a swing for the fences pick. Likened to a Brazilian Kevin Durant. Best reports suggest that he is a few seasons away from being a viable NBA player.
Big question marks on this as a 1st round pick. Surely could have picked this guy up in the 2nd round.

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Chicago picking for Denver with the 19th pick have taken Gary Harris. Easily the steal of the draft so far. A really good shooter and should fit in well with the uptempo offence in Denver. I wonder if todays trade for Aaron Afflalo would have happened if Denver knew they could still get Harris this late in the draft.

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Suns pick up Tyler Ennis with the18th Pick. My favourite PG in the draft. really smart player. kinda liked him in Toronto to replace Kyle Lowry. It’ll be interesting to see how Phoenix manage him, Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsloe

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Boston picking with the 17th pick have selected James Young from Kentucky. Looks like a guy that can provide so back court offense for the Celtics

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Chicago picking now but due to the Doug McDermott trade this player should be going to Denver. The pick Jusuf Nurkic from Bosnia. A 7’0 foot centre.

2014 NBA Draft: Live blog, updates

Really touching moment from Adam Silver with Isiah Austin. Player that no longer can compete due to being diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome. really good to see him atleast walk up those steps.
