Roar's Asian soccer dream hangs by thread

Brisbane Roar are in balanced they have to many Irons in the fire they’re trying to qualify for the HAL finals also its to much for them, I wouldn’t be surprised if they come out this weekend and win. Seoul were quite good in my brief assessment of the match …

With the financially injection to PSG and Man Cty the bigger more established English Clubs have suffered The Man U’s, Arsenal’s and Chelsea’s cant sustain the quality of player they use to , subsequently their results are quite poor all English Clubs could be knocked out in the Rd of 16 phase ,unprecedented ..

PSG always looked in with a show today even with Ibra off the park, couple of cracking headers ,boom.

PSG send Chelsea packing in Champions League

Also one should note NYC.FC have purchased Villa, Lampard and allegedly Xavi Hernandez that’s $20 million in salaries easy, the MLS probably wont tolerate that …

Weary Wanderers beat City 3-2 in A-League

I thought last night’s match was a great game end to end stuff. Possibly a GF prelude that apart from Syd FC . Drive By’s to win tonight although won’t be the best team on the park ….

A nice tribute to Phil Hughes too I might add …

[VIDEO] Victory surge after 3-2 win over Adelaide

I’ve not witnessed at least in flat racing the level these activist have stooped to , they must pray for deaths in feature races to get their measly voices heard what’s also concerning is they’re being give more oxygen through media outlets in the modern era .

They remind me somewhat of the anti abortionist from the deep south of America ” we have to kill to prevent deaths” . ..

Bullying a child at the races... really?

Hawkspur seems to only win at a price ?. Criterion was disappointing . Thrilling run and win by The Cleaner nice run also form The Offer .

Fair tipping Brent well done ….

I’ve um just been going through my subscription feeds . Ian Syson’s article is a lovely read unfortunately the thread turned into conflict though. I know you love your sports history (http://www.theroar.com.au/2011/04/22/how-football-contributed-to-the-anzac-spirit/)…

Service, sacrifice and, um, selling the game

Good points Fuss , I’d suggest that would be a similar fee $7 to an Arsenal or Man Utd .com monthly(probably less) I think I use to pay $40 a year for Arsenal.Com years ago.

That $10 for Non Members you’d have to be a hardcore fan for that. A great initiative though.

What's the difference between a sports journalist and a blogger?

Ch 10 appears to have purchased well or the right women, this thread has outdone the drugs in afl stories on this site.

Channel Ten's gain is A-League pain as Mel McLaughlin makes switch

Amazing scenes there prior to the start of the match, nice goal too.

Well done K 92.

I like that Pommy M Stephens every year he deathrolls an Australian team for 80 mins and he ends up with egg on he’s face every time.

I always felt the Moose was a grumpy old ba####d.

I like the way Sterlo explains the movement and phase of play, one of the best technical analysers of the game.

You know cricket and marketing, why would they use Watson there with Cahill in the ad “its on green and gold” and not Clarke ,Watsons just stood down from Vice Cpt hasn’t he , a strange bit of marketing.

And also I think exactly the same way as Fussball he’s not from another planet ,we all think the same way about Mandic and business, its just business.

Sorry Harry, you’re just no longer that Kewell

Fuss,

“From what we’ve seen of GWS, if they needed a $200k player they had to source poorly qualified labour – the market didn’t determine the player’s value”.

That’s what I like about the sport, market value or corrections I.E. A Caroll to Liverpool FC. The players salary is dictated to by the club that wants him most.

What about the players under Sheedy’s wing there. Is this what they thought afl was meant to be ?, playing in a region where they know their profile is low to non existent they generally never win and get beaten comfortably they play most of their home games in Canberra and live in Sydney and when they do play a home game at Homebush nobody shows, is that what they grew up thinking afl would be as their profession ?.

Spare a thought for the players of this football club.

I think he’s a shy kid, not as good as dad.

All I am saying is give Pearce a chance

I was having a look at a Paramatta Eels team photo the other day half of the team was non white 50/50, half of the team are of Oceanic Pacific Rim background.

Redb,

I don’t mind the Australia’s game bit it doesn’t bother me but you say its Australia’s game but half the nations watching NRL at the same time ???

Redb,

Do you notice you never mention Australia as a sport there its always Socceroos why ? we are Australian aren’t we. Look how you post, Rasic coached the Socceroos, why not mention Australia instead of Socceroos as a nation that’s who we are aren’t we ?.

And again second last paragraph you write Rasic gives he’s thoughts on the 2006 Socceroos and also he’s greatest ever Socceroos team. Why don’t you mention the word Australia when mentioning the National Team you make reference to Australia once but somebody moved here.

Socceroos is a nickname every National Team globally has one, its funny how some of you never make the link between a national football team and Australia ???. Just an observation I’ve picked up.

Do you see the national team as Australian ???.

Roughly the same time of being as the Wanderers initial match against Kings.

But that’s my point you don’t see that in league and or union professionally on a constant regular basis, score line spreads of 50-80 weekly or fortnightly from the one “individual” team , you might see the Waratahs being beaten by 50 but it wont happen consistently or St George in the N.R.L or imagine the Mlb Hrt being beaten 7-0 ” Every Week ” or there abouts, and that’s the difference between the sports .

Your score lines are more conducive to cricket score lines for mine, mate I don’t actually know that many other sports where you can generally be beaten by 60 apart from cricket ,an innings and 200 runs ?.

Good luck.

Redb your late please be here by 9.15 in future.
