Well done Alfred, another interesting though strange day.

Singo vs the Waterhouses: More Joyous inquiry live blog (part II)

That thread got closed down why ?

The FA Cup final lost its lustre long ago

Stavros is The Cattery, the thread pattern is no different to anything from seven months ago, i’d prefer you used one name and continually slagged the sport of personally, much braver.

The FA Cup - A Gen Xers Introduction to English Football

If you listen to International races they only really call the first 3-6 horses all race, all Australian callers call all horses I thought that was one of the things that set Australian callers apart their accuracy and attention to detail.

I remember T Spargo calling the races at Newcastle “here” its great for him and Australian racing to hear/see him call in Dubai,Flindell McGrath Wrona, its due to their accuracy and professionalism that really sets them apart globally.

Australia's racecallers dominating the world

Hayson now has the opportunity to challenge Robinsons claims, Interesting.

If we’re receiving that feed/game at midnight that would knock most of the Asian tv audience out, time wise they’d be watching an FA cup final between 2-6 am throughout the region, I’d say they’ve changed the kick off time to accommodate for the Asian market and get a timeline of between 6-9 am.

Once again bewildering tactics by Mancini withdrawing Tevez when they needed him most at 0-0, that should almost see him loose he’s job.

I notice the Chairman of Wigan Athletic Dave Whelan broke he’s leg in the 1960 F.A.Cup and never really made it back as a player, yesterdays victory must have been a very special occasion .

The FA Cup final lost its lustre long ago

The decision not to kick was the correct one ,I knew we’d win. Great to see them signing autographs after the match as well.

What gives with Israel Folau?

Does anybody ever reflect that if we as Australians both males and females if 65-70 % of us played AFL that would possibly wipe out most forms of international sports we contest as Australians ?.

We possibly wouldn’t be known as a sporting nation internationally, does anybody ever see it that way..

Women breaking into the world of AFL

Good luck to Brockie and Toronto, that Nelsen’s a journeyman also.

Could Brockie's MLS loan be the start of something good?

I think Cam after the carnival at Randwick the calendar should then move to Adelaide where for a fortnight we fight it out for the Oak’s Derby and Adl Cup and then onto the more traditional Queensland carnival, Adelaide shouldn’t miss out on quality which they generally do.

I think moment of change will win he’s grunt over the final furlong should see him home being a Rupt Clk winner over 7.

Look out for Rain Affair.

The Goodwood and BTC Cup Group 1 preview

I agree Justin these scenarios have to be addressed I think the Chief Stipe’s got some work to do. What I’ve found strange in all of this is she sounds as though she’s suffered symptoms more similar to a temperature,i’ve heard swelling and soreness in the neck but no temperature, one of the first things that goes with a horse is its “temp”.

Remember guys Redoutes Choice was scratched on Slipper Day because of a temp, they can be fairly serious issues.

Does Racing NSW deserve blame for More Joyous saga?

Its a matter of time on all fronts lets see the results first and then really gauge as to supposedly where we’re from the top heavies of Asian football. I feel overall Australian HAL squads need roughly 10 -12 more games experience each year in the HAL before seriously challenging Asian opponents or being champions of Asia.

What the Mariners must do to beat Guangzhou

There’s almost one continued common theme with racing thoroughbreds in this country, race them at two and “generally” there not heard of after their 5 yr old career ?.

I notice Hawko’s brief of Malua even back in the 1880’s that two yr old racing appeared to be quite popular and normal, my point being we don’t really let horses develop and furnish like the Europeans ,you don’t generally here of great history of 6-7 yr olds racing in Aus, I remember a horse come out for the Mlb Cup called Collier Hill from England as an 8 yr old and was still winning group and listed races at 11 yrs of age back in England.

I’d suggest it would also be tricky as to suggest who was the best race mare this country has ever seen Wakeful or BC.

The Roar’s top 50 Australian racehorses of all-time: Part 2

Fuss,

What the Germans have done is extended out from world or euro formatted pot and group stage draws, I like the element also of killing the game on that day with extra time to decide who advances.

Rd 2 there fuss could be tricky you could possibly miss a regional club coming to a HAL club they would generally be knocked out by the quarters or semis , the regional clubs may complain about not getting an opportunity of hal home ground games.

QF @ SF; random draws ,correct from then on its open slather.

Interesting, things can be tinkered with marginally with time.

Don't be fooled: FFA Cup is too big a risk

Sheek,

I somewhat tend to agree about PH ,more natural for mine than anything overall I cant see conclusive proof of genuine tampering,

Really enjoyable read lads, I think the duration and stamina gets most with Carbine. There were some amazing feet’s back in those days also in a training sense.

One could suggest have trainers gone backwards in method and technique through time.

How I yearn for a horse race in Australia on the flat the lasted nearly 5k.

The Roar's top 50 Australian racehorses of all-time (Part 1)

I think what shouldn’t be forgotten is Ferguson had the best at he’s disposal all the time,I remember Ferguson individually smashed the Brittish transfer fee, five times through he’s tenure at the club.

He will be remembered by Man Utd as there single most important asset to there club and for eternity.

Good luck to David Moyes “a fellow Scott” . Does anybody now of any bigger shoes to fill in pro sports globally, I don’t.

Retirement of Ferguson signals end of an era in English football

Fergie is/was a great gaffa he new how to work fear and intimidation into he’s players and there opponents ,a character trait that most managers fail at.

Mark Bosnich lauds retiring Ferguson

Towser,

I agree I thought Kruse wouldn’t make pro in Germany, good luck to the kid.

Rojas signs with VfB Stuttgart

I think that’s important fuss England is not the most technical nor complete league throughout Europe as soon as people understand this the better, the epl is a show apart from the big 4 the bundesliga is where you get made as a pro player, hopefully other agents will take note.

Apparently German is one of the hardest languages to learn too.

Rojas signs with VfB Stuttgart

I notice the article writer refuses to use the word/s Australia, why ? Look at paragraph one where it says Cahill says: to much inexperience has left the Socceroos with an uphill battle, now why doesn’t the article writer mention the word Australia instead of Socceroos, that’s what we are, aren’t we, do you notice how Australia as a word gets left out and Socceroos replaced, Why ?

In paragraph two its almost the same, why is Oman given its sovereign name as a nation and not its nickname ?, though an Australian journalist uses silly little jingoistic slogans like Socceroos “childish and immature personally” and continuing with that paragraph it says that leaves the Socceroos in third place, why doesn’t the article writer mention the name/word Australia, that’s who we are love , we’re Australians not Socceroos..

Tim Cahill's blunt words to spur on young tyros

I think everybody within the football community endorses this move. Some of these transfers out of the A League recently have been top draw.

Rojas signs with VfB Stuttgart

I’m really looking forward to this tour . C’mon Australia. Nice read Davo.

Could Lions be lambs to the slaughter?

That bit of PR is just that, Kevin struggles to be heard in NSW, I’d even put forward the case that the swans don’t really get backed by the media in Sydney.

I’m just wondering isn’t it all just becoming a silly publicity stunt,he has come out said they’ll be playing afl in China by 2015 a couple of years ago.

Third Sydney AFL team? Never say never

Nice read Apaway, Its great that somebody can inform the public and feel proud in doing so, we were the landmark sport for some time there pioneering all over Australia.

The A League Apaway is imbedded now in concrete foundations, but its still a tough market even in 2013.

This is where The Roar’s website is good you’d never read something like this in News or Fairfax.

Favourite Nsl memory Prth Glry vs Wllg Wlvs GF in Perth.
