Wow. Well done Force.

Obviously I switched off a bit early.

Force dreaming of Super Rugby glory after stunning Reds

Thanks, Highlander. I enjoyed reading that.

The selection trap the British and Irish Lions must avoid

Is Samu being outside Muirhead intentional? I suspect it must be as in the still shot he is closer to the ball than Muirhead but eventually on his outside.

Why the Brumbies still have reason to smile after their defeat in Canberra

Thanks for the article, Farthing.

I’m resigned to finishing last this year, and maybe next, but agree there are good youngsters in there and a coach with experience in developing players that make it worth keeping the faith. It’d be good if a couple of them were big boned locks but maybe that’ll come in the future recruiting.

Great news if the western suburbs of Sydney are taking an interest.

Hope for the weeping Waratahs fan

Were you there during the reign of the deputy PM?

Waratahs coaching speculation tells us the NSWRU board is as mad as we feared

I’ve never thought of him regarding the Samoa game. I used to think he was so big he struggled to keep up with the speed of S15. He was good when he was in the right spot, but could be left chasing the game too much.

Waratahs coaching speculation tells us the NSWRU board is as mad as we feared

I’ll be seriously cranky if they sack him. Just another quick fix and money down the drain. If we can afford to lose money, buy a few locks. Plus none of Cron, Whittaker and Grey have shown they are capable of doing even as well, let alone better.

Waratahs coaching speculation tells us the NSWRU board is as mad as we feared

I noticed the Force just signed Sitaleki Timani for the rest of the season. He used to be a bit of a myth, but would’ve been an improvement in our tight five as well.

Waratahs coaching speculation tells us the NSWRU board is as mad as we feared

I was hoping Maddox would be gone. I’ve given up on him. All the natural gifts but he’s just not at the required level, and he should be. As much as I like him and wish him success, I think I’ve reached the same point with Alex Newsome. Sadly I just dont think he’s good enough.

The Force lineup as named would have been more threatening 3-4 years back, but still can’t see us knocking them off. With blokes like Thrush, Kahui, Kuridrani, Kearney and Holmes, they are almost the bookend team to us. I’d take some of that experience though. I’m disappointed not to see Lance making it.

Super Rugby AU Round 3 team line-ups: Changes aplenty across the board

Jez is FOSUFC a real thing or a board conspiracy theory? I always thought it was the latter, but it persists …

Tahs faced with long injury lay-offs for key players

Yeah, I agree, Hugh, we shouldn’t be dipping as low as this. The club cant really afford to.

Its pretty stark when you go through all the squads how few prime of career or even mature players are still here. I was thinking of the back row in particular where there’s Isa, Samu, Dempsey, Stander, ?. There is talent around but its mostly so young. I think that is why I’m a bit (unreasonably) incredulous at Dempsey.

Tahs faced with long injury lay-offs for key players

I might be to soft, but my only real disappointment at the recruitment is in the second row. We’ve had a problem there for about 5 years. Starting front row I’m ok with, and everything from 6 to 15 I can at least see them developing decent prospects, but when Qld lose two starting locks and still have three better than anything we have, that’s a fail.

Retention is now almost impossible it seems. On the weekend Dempsey looked like he’s finally ready to be a significant player, but he’ll be gone at the end of the year. That’s frustrating.

Tahs faced with long injury lay-offs for key players

I like Exeter as much as a like any overseas team for the reasons you state, but the words of Rob Baxter when he recruited Greg Holmes and Dave Dennis still ring in my ears.

At the time he described their signings as great for the development of Exeter’s young English props and flankers.

I get the economics but, ultimately, they are just another European Club buying in what they don’t have to the detriment of us. We need the Holmes’and Dennis’ here. They are just a club.

Exeter: From rugby obscurity to kings of Europe

“Matt Philip has developed himself from the foundation of a number four towards the intelligence of a number five.”

Excuse my non-rugby background, but in reference to the above line from the article, is the basic idea of lock selection that the four provide grunt and the five provide skill, particularly in the lineout?

I understand you may be fortunate enough to have two all round locks, or many with neither.

Why Matt Philip is upwardly mobile in the second row

Reds should be very good next year. Real shame about Rodda and the other lock. That’s about their only weak area.

"We want him to earn the right to play": Dave Rennie speaks about Vunivalu's Wallabies call-up

Not having a crack at you Cannon in this comment, but I think it a justifiable decision to develop the young 10s at levels below this. In a way, Mo’unga finally arrived at test rugby last week, aged 26 with 3 x SR titles under his belt. I think we often fail to recognise the value of experience in our rugby.

Breaking down all of the Wallabies changes for Bledisloe 4

Perhaps Jono Lance should’ve been called in once Toomua and JOC went down. I’d feel a lot more comfortable with him at 10.

Breaking down all of the Wallabies changes for Bledisloe 4

Samu looks to have been set aside again after only one game. I wonder what it is? I don’t think he lacks speed, smarts or aggression, and while not huge he doesn’t look small either. Perhaps he is a 7 only at this level.

Good luck to Swinton. I wouldn’t have thought him ready, but I prove weekly that I don’t know much.

They couldn’t really pick Hodge at 10, surely.

Lachie Swinton set to be latest Wallaby to be handed debut by Dave Rennie

Risky.

Time for a proper look at the Wallabies' generation next

If Noah gets hurt, who would play 10?

Sad news (for us) about your articles, Brett. Congratulations and good luck. Exciting news the NRC is maybe not yet in the ground.

Welcome competition in the rugby broadcast rights race - and a farewell, for now…

“… competed in the WNBL, won a gold medal with the Women’s Aussie 7s team, and also played in the AFLW with Carlton …”. And a physiotherapist. That is so impressive. I struggle to hold down a job and go for a walk.

Cross-code collaboration helps Dalton in her quest for back-to-back gold

Lorry, that was my interpretation of how it came up as well. Don’t you love how that became “Wallabies considering taking a knee.”

I find the kneeling very american as well, but think it and the BLM movement is applicable to us as well since the indigenous community appear to have adopted it. If they had not, I’d be saying yeah, but nah for it here. Find our own way. But for me it’s an ATSI decision to say it is or isn’t for us.

Wallabies unveil new Indigenous jersey but want to attract more First Nations players

I’d swap TT and AAA. Bring in Simone and JP to centres. Hosea for Simmons and Samu for Wright.

VOTE: Who should Dave Rennie in his Bledisloe 3 Wallabies team?

The kick returns have been poor, but the other aspects of his game have been solid. His highball work in particular. I never bought into the movement that he had to be in but given there is no obviously better option I’d stick with him. Just telling him to bring it back a bit harder.

What changes are on the cards for Rennie's Wallabies in Bledisloe 3?
