I think it would be harsh to drop Koroibete off the back of one poor game. He has been good for the last half dozen or so tests. He is also a player that has steadily improved across the last two years, which many of our players seem unable to do. I think he deserves at least one more game. I think he will take the weekend very personally and make amends.

Rennie threatens selection changes after Bledisloe belting

I think the criticism of their decision is pretty harsh. It’s just not a normal period in the world and each country, let alone each union, is doing what they can to manage.

OFFICIAL: South Africa are out as Rugby Championship reverts to Tri-Nations for 2020

All of Oz, NZ and Arg have 46 players available. Maybe a fourth scratch team could be created from 10 each of those. Oz & NZ would likely now know their first 30 odd. Weird concept for sure, but pretty unusual times as well.

Yeah, when we got it back that last time I screamed at the TV to kick it out. When Marika was stripped the time before I gave up hope.

The Wrap: Eight and a half crazy minutes light up the Bledisloe Cup

I’m still not sure why Caydern Neville isn’t there. He seems the perfect option to me.

I thought most of the debutants acquitted themselves well. Wilson looked like he belonged, which is amazing really given his age, experience and opponents. I was happy with most of it except the lineout. Not sure what we do there as for mine FF is the best hooker we have available. I still don’t go for the Gordon over Powell or McDermott decision. I didn’t think Jake looked all the comfortable.

IT'S A DRAW! Bledisloe 1 ends all square

“Also immediately after Hodge’s kick New Zealand player knocked on after the ball hit the goalpost – no advantage to Australia but not counted as a knock on.”

I wondered about that. I thought perhaps a penalty off the post has some sort of different rules, or something.

I like it. 20. Rob Valetini and 21. Jake Gordon are the only names that surprise me with Petaia ruled out. Good luck to them.

Red and Black, if the contractual obligation to broadcasters fir the 2020 RC are as you say, void, a view I agree with, how can NZRs biggest ever TV deal still be on foot? It can’t be and I’m sure isn’t because as per the RC, NZR cannot deliver what they contracted to deliver. They no doubt have a broadcaster, which we don’t, but the big broadcast deal is history.

As South Africa head north, Australia and New Zealand must remember they're better together

“From our perspective we were affronted yesterday. New Zealand Rugby has a contractual obligation to us to agree any competitions and all related financial arrangements. We haven’t agreed what’s come out in the last 24 hours so we’re sitting there going ‘where’s that respect gone’,” Nichol said. “As far as we are concerned that conversation is still live.”

That’s a bit ironic.

They voted twice and there was no Chairman’s vote. To change from the original schedule they needed a unanimous vote. It has been reported all over the place and I and everyone else could post links for you but there’s no point.

Leaked document adds further tension to Australia-NZ rugby row

RA twice voted for the five week tournament version. The second time to assist NZ players, not Australia’s. NZ changed (flip-flopped?) their vote, which is within the right to do, but they were the only one that did, with SA and ARG, along with Australia, remaining consistent, but clearly, as always, it’s all our fault.

They should not hold the 6th week rather than deny those involved the chance to be at home for Chrissy. All the results, including the tournament winner, will have an asterix anyway given the circumstances.

New Zealand Rugby unhappy as SANZAAR releases 2020 Rugby Championship draw

I thought he was worth a shot in the wallabies this year. His form has been great this season, injury acknowledged. Is there something about him that suggests he is not test suitable? He, Philip and LSL would’ve been my tip before the squad was named.

“Unpack”.

It’s not easy to win it 18 times in a row. They need a leg up to even the chances.

CONFIRMED: Wallabies to get home-ground advantage for 2020 Rugby Championship

“I’d love to come back and play for the Wallabies, but I don’t want to come back and play Super Rugby,” he says. “I don’t think it’s a very tantalising offer for a rugby player. It’s so much travel and so much time way from family and the rewards just aren’t worth it. … It’s hard to put your trust in a competition like that.”

That’s a fairly damning comment.

Of the players we had and lost to overseas, I think I’d put Pyle in the top 5 of biggest losses because he left so young. Gill, McMahon – guns and gone by 23 or 24 would be my equal first. Pyle perhaps not in the same calibre as Gill and McMahon, but again, young and when we lacked quality in the Wallaby lock stocks. Michael Alaalatoa, Nemani Nadalo, Nathan Hines proved to be huge misses but not so much when they left. Kerevi at the moment would be handy.

Aussie abroad: Hugh Pyle

Any chance you’re a Brumbies supporter, Plank?

Dave Rennie's Wallaby XV: Who gets the nod from countless options from Super Rugby AU?

I think Simmons might end up leaving the biggest hole. It’ll add some interest to see how Gamble and Tizzano go and Walton has had some moments at 12. I don’t know what we are doing at lock.

Michael Hooper's half-year off a win for all involved

We’ll be looking for multiple locks with Ned and Simmons off as well .

off as in leaving, Jez? Where to? That’s a real shame.

Why do you care so much what NZ think? You post like you’re desperate for a friend and have identified Jacko as your best chance.

I’d bet most Australian rugby fans want the force more than they want to be involved with NZ. I certainly do. If it can work with NZ then OK, but, etc.

Twiggy, here's your 2021 shopping list

I think Ralston and Fergus Lee-Warner would be worth some interest. FLW as a 6 rather than lock.

Waratahs surge onto Dave Rennie's Wallabies radar

Who would cover 10 for the Brumbies if Kuenzle goes down? Hooper should try hard to get into him early. A young bloke, maybe they could rattle him.

“and his performances have been better for longer than the other candidates.”

I’m not saying give Jeremy Tilse a cap. There has to be performance that justifies it, but I think the culture and therefore future of our rugby would be better served rewarding longer serving – but still high performing – player over the potential of newer players. If the new guy is clearly the best in their position then this wouldn’t apply, but where its speculative like Valentini, Wright, Swinton, I’d go with Samu.
