Love visits from my family, watching footy especially the Sharkies and enjoy the good hearted banter on the Roar.

Was at that game Choppy and it is burned into my brain like your Wally/Alfie episode. Oh, the humanity! 😱

How would the 13 Immortals fare in the modern game, and what positions would they play?

So obvious he will always love his team 😊

So lucky Tony! Those players were like Gods and played like it too.

I recently opined that I would run 100 metres over broken glass to tackle a certain Easts player. I would have run a mile over broken glass to ask Johnny Raper if I could carry his bag 😊

The Brailey boys are like the Eveready bunny. They just keep going and going and going. Wishing Jayden a speedy recovery.

ANALYSIS: If the rest of the NRL weren't taking Cronulla seriously, they are now - and Nanai facing hefty hip-drop ban

As an aside from the actual game can I compliment whoever is responsible for organising such a remarkable Anzac Day ceremony at the Stadium last night. Just extraordinary and a brilliant and moving tribute to all those who have served.

Influencers are all the rage nowadays. Just ask Ben Hunt.

One of my life regrets is not visiting the fields of Belgium and France. It is too late now but your story of Dave Gallaher helps paint a picture and I am very grateful for it. Many Thanks!

Remembering the elite Australian sportsmen and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country

Sometimes the stars align. Retracing my uncles POW journey from Singapore to Sandakan, Borneo I went to St. Luke’s church in Sandakan where the POW’s spent their first night before the short walk to the camp. They have a small curation of artefacts including a book of the POW names and the minister kindly allowed me to see it. I randomly opened it and there was my uncles name on that particular page. The rest of that trip had similar coincidences and even though I am not a religious man I found it extraordinarily comforting.

A gem of a comment.

Thanks Stevo for that link- amazing find!

Very moving article Graham. May I also pay tribute to the many backyard and park players of cricket and footy who never made it home. Many families remembering today.

Mmm ..……. Las Vegas, UFC, Boxing and Rugby League. What could possibly go wrong?

We babysat the grandkids years ago and they made us watch Billy Madison. I could do with those couple of hours of my life back 😂

ANALYSIS: The Dolphins' dream continues with record comeback - but with the Titans involved, is anyone surprised?

Amazing mate – You’ve been channelling Bill Collins 😊

Nailed it RR. I have been racking my brain for who he reminds me of 😁

It looked like pyjamas, much like the awful away strip the Storm wear.

The players who’ve really got their mojo working after changing clubs

I’m sure Manly’s jersey won’t have a rainbow on it. 😂

What a player he was- my favourite of all time and that broken leg broke my heart.

The players who’ve really got their mojo working after changing clubs

One of the great shames of modern league I think JA. Super League didn’t help either and loyalty went out the window. It’s hard for young kids to understand and to keep wearing their favourite players name and number nowadays.

The players who’ve really got their mojo working after changing clubs

Very interesting article Tony. What a relief it must be for those players to have found their sweet spot. An article on those, whose experience in changing clubs is the direct opposite, would be equally interesting. It was a very long time ago but I still remember Steve Rogers leaving the Sharks to play for the Dragons and how that turned out.

So true Jimmmy. I sincerely hope there are no war metaphors used both in the media and here on the roar. Younger, naive commenters do not realise the disrespect and hurt this shows to those who served by sacrificing their youth, and ultimately for many, their lives. Let’s enjoy the footy for what it is, a game, and respect Anzac Day in solemn reflection.

Lest we forget the Anzac Round conundrum - less is more as commercialisation takes over

I would like to award Ben with 100 ‘golden points’ for common sense plus a star on the roar chart.

Golden point is pointless - it's a solution to a problem that never existed and should be scrapped

Unfortunately being a talented sportsman/woman doesn’t necessarily transfer to being a decent human being. There is nothing wrong with supporting a friend through the judicial process privately but to make public comments that cross the line into diminishing the crime and victim blaming sends a message that some are above the law. Having the privilege of a media profile comes with the responsibility of using it for the greater good. Unfortunately all that these two have done is to diminish their own reputations.
