When the wins come, I’m probably going to forget I ever wrote this. You’re right, the baying wolves of the media tend to forget about all your faults if you have a few more Ws on the ledger.
As a supporter I get the condescending look of empathy when asked who I go for. I’d love to be hated by a few more clubs, but I’d prefer Melbourne throw their hands in the air, declare they got it wrong and that they’re headed down the well trodden path of hard work. Which, I’m pleased to see they are in the midst of – I’d just prefer it if we didn’t have go to the AFL on our knees asking for more. I’m not going to be any quieter in the outer once the siren goes and we’re in front, though.
Melbourne deserve the priority pick, just don't give it to them!
I’m all for scrapping it. Take the carrot away. If a club finishes in the bottom section for 3 or 4 years, there will be more than enough high draft picks to rebuild the team. The top 5 picks of any year should be able to be turned into amazing players.
Melbourne deserve the priority pick, just don't give it to them!
I agree. Melbourne were reading the articles about themselves for the last few years and just expected the rise to happen naturally.
They forgot about the unbelievable amount of development that is required and patted each other on the back.
Lowly Melbourne will climb faster than the Saints or Bulldogs
The Golden Age of Australian Football with Kewell, Neil, Viduka et all had to prove themselves in a trial by fire against the worlds best. There was no sentiment with them and not a lot of players that had been under the watchful eye of the world. If these guys are up to the task they’ll be better for this experience.
To be honest are we expecting much out of Brazil? It will be a train wreck with the options available. They need this exposure to assult Qatar.
Why Harry Kewell, not Rogic, should be on the plane to Brazil
