The way the media has portrayed West Coast’s season you would have thought they were fighting for the Wooden Spoon, and they’re % off second spot! I pretty much watch Access all Areas to see what creative new way they can come up with to criticize a West Coast win while going on about how Hawthorn ‘just find a way to win’.

What a finish!!!!! Up there with Ash McGrath a couple of years ago

GWS Giants vs West Coast Eagles highlights: Eagles by 1 point in an absolute nail-biter

Wow, that was incredible, my eyes were as wide as saucepans when that just ripped off the surface. Not looking good at all

What was that?? Ran over the ball!

This is one of the most insane games of footy I’ve ever seen, somehow a cellar dweller battle is incredibly entertaining!

Fremantle Dockers vs Carlton Blues highlights: AFL live scores, blog

How can you make the claim that a team is a FTB based off 2 games? They beat Brisbane and lost to Hawthorn (the reigning Premiers mind you), how can that possibly be a large enough sample size to make that sort of a claim?

'West Coast are flat-track bullies': The AFL media's biggest cop-out

A bit of a ho hum victory for Australia, both batting and bowling lacked a bit especially towards the end of both innings. I might agree with bringing in Finch and Hazlewood at the expense of Hastings and maybe Marsh although he just had a good SA series. We need some more reliable performers rather than versatility. Anyhow at least we got the points, g’night!

Oh Maxi…was he going for net run rate? Would prefer for Nevill to come in now

Australia vs Bangladesh highlights: Australia limp home for first win

Gah, this isn’t inspiring me with any confidence for India and Pakistan, although Mustafizur has looked really good

Australia vs Bangladesh highlights: Australia limp home for first win

Just deciding whether we’re into our demonstration of amazing batting depth or our never ending tail end

Australia vs Bangladesh highlights: Australia limp home for first win

Outstanding boundary hitting from Khawaja but I wasn’t loving everything in between, not a load of singles and seemed a little cramped other than when he was unleashing, C’Mon Maxi!

Australia vs Bangladesh highlights: Australia limp home for first win

Warner is the complete T20 Batsman, looks to score off every ball, rapid between wickets, smashes boundaries and hits gaps. Put that together with his gun fielding and Shane Warne’esque leg spin he’s basically the ultimate cricketing prototype!

Australia vs Bangladesh highlights: Australia limp home for first win

Couldn’t have timed it worse, at least I acknowledged the hypothetical nature of the statement…

Australia vs Bangladesh highlights: Australia limp home for first win

I disagree with Michael Slater here, while Smith is yet to really hit his straps in T20 I feel he is a slightly more consistent bat than Warner and Maxi. The other night was a perfect example of us getting a good start together then horribly collapsing in a heap with multiple wickets in a row. I would say Smith is least likely to fall immediately after a wicket or 2 and would serve to carry on the momentum best. He can keep feeding Khawaja or Watson until they get out then feed Warner. All theoretical though

Australia vs Bangladesh highlights: Australia limp home for first win

Yeah Smith nudges a lot more proactively than Khawaja, if Usman doesn’t completely get a hold of it he seems to blunt it a give up on a score, mind you when he gets a hold of it it’s a thing of beauty

Australia vs Bangladesh highlights: Australia limp home for first win

Theory: in the top six have 3 who while hogging the strike slightly can belt boundaries, and pair them with someone who can feed them the strike and turn 1’s into 2’s, eg Khawaja, Watson and Finch up top, with Smith, Warner and Maxwell (not the best example, but could do it if given the role), and as one kind of player gets removed send in another to replace. I feel like Khawaja and Watson are mismatched as they both require the strike and dawdle between the wickets. The quicker three could obviously slam through some boundaries when offered them

Australia vs Bangladesh highlights: Australia limp home for first win

Ahh never mind, this is painful to watch no matter who’s bowling, Boyce in the middle overs would have been nice since Zampa’s doing such a nice job

Australia vs Bangladesh highlights: Australia limp home for first win

I would have liked to see Coulter-Nile and Faulkner both get through their overs, Faulks is ood at closing the innings and Couter-Niles extra pace would come in handy, he’s gone for 3 an over (+extras)!

Australia vs Bangladesh highlights: Australia limp home for first win

I was shocked he only got one over against NZ. Granted the seam bowlers were getting it done, but if he’s only getting an over Agar shouldn’t have been near the ball, especially since they turn it the same way. I love Zampa’s fighting kind of nature, a bit like a premature Faulkner perhaps

Australia vs Bangladesh highlights: Australia limp home for first win

Yeah that’s exactly what I was thinking of, even though he got it it looked awful. A couple of drops at gully recently I believe against NZ are a bit of a concern. Maybe marking a footy comes more naturally to him after all!

Australia vs Bangladesh highlights: Australia limp home for first win

That’s pretty poor from Marsh, sliding on the knees was a bit ameteurish. I like the guy and his all round ability / potential but he’s been a bit of a butterfingers thus far in his career (other than that absolute gem from the no-ball)

Australia vs Bangladesh highlights: Australia limp home for first win

Crazy to think that we’ve still got Faulkner, Zampa, Maxwell and Marsh who haven’t even bowled yet, crazy bowling depth to (almost) make up for the fact that we’re Starc-less. I wander if you could fit in Finch in place of Hastings to bolster up the batting a little and drop Smith down to 6 or something

Nevill!!!

Australia vs New Zealand highlights: T20 World Cup scores, blog

So many attempts at six when they’ve been holing out all day! If only they could keep it along the carpet this chase would have been a canter

I’m not loving Mitch Marsh’s chance of swinging any away with it turning.
