Ahhhh this is getting quite concerning….

Australia vs New Zealand highlights: T20 World Cup scores, blog

Other than the Agar over and a few Coulter Nile half trackers the bowling’s been pretty tight. I would prefer Hastings in for Agar

What a finish, some really critical errors by SA at the end there, Australia came good under pressure

South Africa vs Australia highlights: Second T20 cricket scores

Issues for Aus in this match: Smith and Khawaja fell flat, but that wouldn’t normally be an issue, we still posted an ok total carrying 2 players that are normally guns. Maxwell and Tye got pounded, so if you bring in Watson for Tye you have an experienced frugal bowler and a good hitting option to strengthen the batting. Hopefully Maxwell won’t be needed / can bowl a little tighter. Good squad!

Australia's first-choice T20 side still unclear

I don’t think anyone in their right mind would claim it’s the best batting lineup ever right now, primarily due to small sample size. Australia’s top 5 have an average of 26.4 Tests to their name, but I think if they were all able to carry on their current achievements the argument could be made. Give it a few years once we’ve played all the top nations in their own backyard, and if Adam Voges is somehow still soldiering on / we fill his spot with a capable replacement, the argument could be made for one of the best batting lineups we’ve seen. Huge if though…

Are Australia's current batsmen the greatest ever?

Right now Boof Jr is averaging 60 in Sheffield Shield, 2 100’s and a 200, not to mention at a strike rate of just under 70. Look like he could be the real deal if he carries on, maybe the heir to Voges’ throne in the middle order

Here comes the Marsh lynch mob

New Zealand vs Australia highlights: First Test – Day 2 cricket scores

Hazey! What a delivery! Hinted in then nudged out, did just enough

I would be confident if we didn’t have another 6 overs from Boland to come…I would personally have Marsh ahead of him on bowling alone

New Zealand vs Australia highlights: Australia level series at 1-1

What a peach by Hazlewood!

New Zealand vs Australia highlights: Kiwis dominate hapless Aussie batting line up

Oh what a difference a few hours makes!

Australia vs India: Fourth ODI - cricket highlights, scores, blog

A tad haha

Australia vs India: Fourth ODI - cricket highlights, scores, blog

Joel Paris going at only 5 runs an over and taking a wicket that should have been 2. Showing he’s got something to offer, especially down the line when he’s matured a bit more physically

Just thinking that Aaron Finch and David Warner aren’t a great fit for each other, they never seem to go at the same time. Because both of them are there to go out there and bash it, they don’t really have defined roles. In the tests Warner can play the aggressor while Burns knocks it about and feeds him the strike, keeping Warner going which allows them to get some good opening stands. Maybe the top order is too aggressive?

Side note: Enoying KP in the commentary booth, just about everything he says comes to fruition, knows his stuff

Dhoni must be trying to get Bailey or Smith to go mental against Sharma and get themselves out. With Ashwin and Jedaja as options, at the WACA, I can’t think of another reason to bring him on.

Australia vs India: First ODI - cricket highlights, scores, blog

I think his ODI profile is based on Potential, great Test player, great T20 player, so should be a great ODI player. Unfortunately hasn’t quite delivered as you’d think he would.

Australia vs India: First ODI - cricket highlights, scores, blog

He didn’t have a great innings, although on a flat deck against some quality batsman he didn’t do that horribly. He got a couple of near wickets early on and looked to be testing the batsman. But still his Domestic record shows he’s got some talent and one average outing on debut doesn’t change that. The original comment saying that he’s not capable of being great is just too great a statement based off his first 8 overs in International cricket

I agree though that Boland’s record doesn’t do anything to demand selection. Should be in his prime as a bowler and has a pretty average record at State Level, not sure what we expected. Bowled some good yorkers the other night but that’s about it.

Australia vs India: First ODI - cricket highlights, scores, blog

Never mind that his State One Day Average and Economy Rate is better than Mitchell Starc’s….one average day at the office and he’s not good enough, on debut mind you!

Australia vs India: First ODI - cricket highlights, scores, blog

Joel Paris’s First Class Average is 16.85, List A Average is 17.79, and he’s only only 23 years old. I don’t think his debut for Australia is enough of a sample size to claim he can never become world class…

53 so far…

West Indies team preview: Part 2

No way…………….I can’t believe what I just saw…..

Australia vs New Zealand highlights: Wickets fall fast on Day 2

Yes! Kerry, Glenn Mitchell and Jim Maxwell would be all I need, perfect balance between sophisticated knowledge and explanation of the game and genuinely funny back and forth.

What cricket commentary can learn from America

I would argue that the period when Starc and Johnson were on together Day 2 was the one which blew the game wide open, ripping out the middle order cheaply and they looked incredibly potent with no sign of relief from either end. They seem to be getting better and better at firing together, and when they do you can just about count on a heap of wickets to fall in quick succession.

The Australian cricket selectors have at last got it right
