Cripps…if he continues this form lock him in for AA.
I made the comment weeks ago that West Coast havent been the same side since Barass went down in round 4. West Coast set up so much of their attack from their back half and having him back brings so much balance to the team.
So many positives from yesterdays win. If West Coast can hold second they’ve never not made a GF finishing 2nd or higher

Five talking points AFL Round 16

Should be;

Richmond vs Hawthorn Friday night, 90,000 at the G. No travel concerns.

West Coast vs Collingwood Saturday afternoon at OS. Like you said, this stadium will be full anytime but gives Collingwood a chance to get home that night as they should having finished 3rd.

Melbourne vs Geelong Saturday night at the G. 90k again and if getting home after midnight is an issue, book a hotel and make a weekend of it – your team finished 8th – lucky its only a train ride or longer drive.

Swans vs GWS Sunday arvo at the SCG.

Top 4 get a 7 day break, 5-8 a six as it should be.

Yes the AFL messed it up but dont fool yourself to think this was about top 4 or days in beween games or fairness. Its all about tv revenue. The stands will be full regardless.

The Week 1 AFL finals fixture is a disaster

Assuming what you are saying and each home team won 1-0 then after the Japan – Australia game the group would be;

Japan: 20 points, GF 16, GA 6 = +10
Saudi: 16 points, GF 16, GA 10 = +6
Aussie: 16 points, GF 14, GA 9 = +5

Then after the Australia – Thailand game and Saudi – Japan Game the group would be;

Japan: 20 points, GF 16, GA 11 = +9
Saudi: 19 points, GF 17, GA 10 = +7
Aussie: 19 points, GF 15, GA 9 = +6

As you can see, in your scenario, Australia would have to beat Thailand by 3 goals in order to move ahead of Saudi on goal difference.

Socceroos handed massive World Cup boost thanks to UAE win

Don’t think anyone was tipping the Eagles to slide down the ladder in 2014.

And Nick Riewoldt will be matched up by Eric Mackenzie and not Darren Glass who hasn’t primarily taken the key forward for a number of years.

Both WA teams could finish the round atop the AFL ladder
