Doran you can’t help yourself when it comes to commenting on White.
You even acknowledge it was an unfortunate bounce on the 18 min that if it went any other way Koribete was either in position to score or at worst force a line drop out so lets chalk that as tried but failed and supported by his coach. Other players try things which fail yet are praised by yourself and rightly so.
Foxsports today put up vision showing White pushed in the back by Fijian with extended arms with the ball still well in the air. Penalty Australia no try Fiji but no somehow you can manage to hold White partly responsible for the Fijian try, either bias or poor eyesight at play.
The penalty or a high shot was correct and rightly given but as the player was falling due to being tackled by others Whites arm came over the shoulder with minimal contact to neck and head. Not a yellow just a penalty unfortunate but can happen. Apparently a player making an effort to cover in defence is now frowned upon. Australia gave up 18 penalties but no comments about the cynical throwing of the ball into a prone Arnold who obviously had not obstructed the Fijian half yet latter with Australia hot on attack outside 22, 2 Fijian block quick ball lying at the back of the Australian ruck gets nothing from Brace one of many inconsistencies in the display by the officials.

Wallabies player ratings: Returning forward fires in Skelton's absence as White and Gordon struggle

Thanks for the reply. Difficult to go in depth without access to replays at moment but from memory 3 of White’s box kicks appeared to be from calls from the men out wide. Given he kicked 7 that only leaves 3 being his call. Again overlaps out wide are the responsibility of the outside men and 10 to communicate not the 9 approaching a ruck he should be scanning the opposition line and listening for calls. If anything it appears that White may be listening too much.
In comparison McDermott first instinct appears to be run but in stats I saw from the Bledisloe games his running metres were negligible his kicks in play nos you may have I don’t but he certainly box kicked on several occasions so it appears this is the coaches plan.
Thanks again for the detailed response enjoy your work.

Wallabies bolter has played just one Test - but picking him over veteran would stick to Eddie's new 'mantra'

John you keep saying he his slow to make a decision but the stats show that not to be true. At which point do we believe what is actually happening or continue to believe what we think is happening.
Looking at the stats I am afraid a lot of your article does not stand up to daylight and is merely your opinion which you are certainly entitled but please do not pass it off as facts which in truth show you to be wrong.
White can and has played up tempo and did so in the Georgia game. Tate is kicking more and running less under Jones game plan but still takes a step in the pass and is a little loopy at times.
Different opinions I know and opinions is all they are.

Wallabies bolter has played just one Test - but picking him over veteran would stick to Eddie's new 'mantra'

What evidence do you present that White slows the game down either from SRP with Brumbies or from Wallaby matches.
His speed to the breakdown is better than any other half and pass is superior.
A Roar reader Cec recently submitted stats from the Georgia game which showed White cleared the majority of rucks in under 1/2 seconds and offered explanations for those clearances which took longer e.g Gordon getting into position to clear from ingoal area.
Yes I know its an opinion site but so much opinion here is offered as fact which unfortunately it is not.
McDermott under Jones and starting is kicking more than he ever has with the Reds and his running meters are negligible in Bledisloe and France games and only 1 run of significance against Georgia off quick tap. His taking steps at the ruck to pass is going to put Gordon under extreme pressure against a rush defence which is used by the better teams.
Happy for everyone to have an opinion but supporting it with some data would be great. Nick Bishop frequently supported his preference for White as starting Wallaby with stats in this site .

Doran’s campaign against White continues. This site used to provide analysis but with the withdrawal of Nick Bishop it has become purely opinion driven without any analysis or evidence to support.
After coming on in 34 minute White cleared 10 of his first 13 rucks in under 2 seconds and this is an analysis of White’s second half provided by a Roarer
“I’ll just start that if there is an inference that the WB second half was poor because White was on at 9 instead of Tate is just plain wrong & I invite you to rewatch the game and compare notes. Here are the stats on White – I have 24 rucks and White cleared 20 in the 1-3 second category, 1 was cleared in the 4-5 sec range on the 52nd minute from a messy ruck, 3 were cleared in the 6-7 sec category in the 57th and 73rd minute mark with again messy clean & seal and in one White got knocked over as we couldn’t keep the space over the ball. The last clearance in that 6-7 sec category was White having to hold the ball in for 6sec waiting for CG to get in position to kick clear of our 22m. Of the passes made all were again on point even in the 80th minute – 3 were +15m, 9 were 10-15m and 12 were <10m. There were only 4 kicks from White and if anyone thinks 24 passes to 4 kicks is the wrong ratio then I’d be wondering what you’re smoking. The first boxy was 53min called on by Marky on the wing and that was poorly executed which Georgia countered; and Nick had to clean up his mess with a good one-on-one tackle that forced the error, which allowed Thor to pull out his 10 jersey highlight reel again. The second kick was 57min which was clearing our 22m to the 50m. At the 60mim mark there was a chip and regather by Marky; and the fourth kick soon followed to rollout at the 5m, and that was not ideal, but it did force Georgia to clear from their end goal back to where Nick originally kicked. If anyone thinks that passing is not the core skill for a 9 then that’d be a worry. Having a pass like Nick’s, if the breakdown is not going backwards, gives the 10 so much more time and space & also note no charge downs even when clearing inside our 5m. Nick started the try at 67min after the forwards had 5 pick and goes; finally they moved aside for Nick to pass it +10m left to right off the deck with no step, which gave CG 5metres of space to find Ben. Even in the 80min Nick steps in, again clears the ruck within 1-3sec, to fire a +15m pass that hits Ben on the chest without breaking his stride but unfortunately WBs fluffed it on the wing. That was a clear try opportunity starting back from the clearance if that last pass from CG stuck.” Roarer Cec
Thanks for some detail Cec on which opinions can be based something sadly lacking and was the reason I started using this site in 2009.
Doran obviously believes if you say something often enough it’s true and with the assistance of the Nic White haters this can become fact. Sadly the world in which we live.

Five things we learned: 'F--king do your job' - Moment Skelton proved Eddie right, Wallabies' rivals put on show

Absolute bs

Remember us? The soft reminder the Wallabies remain a RWC threat - and the one selection headache for Fiji

So Whites first 13 rucks showed release of 10/13 under 2 seconds is slow. Gee that’s some pause. Understood that an opinion site is full of so much BS but obviously the authors bias against White needs to be called out at some point.

Remember us? The soft reminder the Wallabies remain a RWC threat - and the one selection headache for Fiji

Refer to earlier comment by Cec supported by stats show Whites clearances were quick.
Clearly stats are at odds with the pre conceived opinions of the author but luckily this is an opinion site and facts don’t matter.

Player ratings: Skelton, Tupou Wallabies' best despite Donno's day out in World Cup opener

Find Tates comments interesting given his running stats in the Bledisloe games and against France were negligible and his kicking increased to what he normally does for the Reds.
Not sure what has changed other than an increased focus on the breakdown after being completely outplayed there by the Springboks and Pumas.
The three phase comment was repeated by Tate here which seems at odds with heads up footy but am sure all will be revealed over the next month.

ANALYSIS: Eddie thought the 2023 RWC would be defined by attack - all he needed was a Wallabies team to buy in

And your comments are incredibly poor.
Taking cheap shots at a guy who is putting it all out there for his country at least have the decency to support or STFU.
I am am old enough to have played against Hipwell and your comments tell me your everything wrong with Rugby in this country try just supporting the team and its players.

Exclusive: Eddie to spring huge No.15 shock to start World Cup as Donno's 'natural game' gives him an edge

Must have really got up your nose when he won the turnover penalty against SA to enable a Wallaby win or was it his kick into touch that iced the game against Scotland on the Spring Tour.
You can always put up your clips so we can judge your abilities.

Exclusive: Eddie to spring huge No.15 shock to start World Cup as Donno's 'natural game' gives him an edge

kicks resulted in two of Australia tries so I am not sure why you don’t want to use it. There were times today when commentary suggested we should have box kicked as Dupont was unfortunately some of our kicking was very poor but as stated we did score from kicks twice.

Studs and duds: Eddie's 'wrongheaded' selections, Carter '100 percent a concern', 'weapon' fires at last

Well you saw Malcolm Marx do it against NZ but allowed by some not others.

Studs and duds: Eddie's 'wrongheaded' selections, Carter '100 percent a concern', 'weapon' fires at last

Except for the draw in Wellington and 8 point loss at Eden Park and previous close loss at Dunedin.
Plus several wins and close losses in Australia against the All Blacks but that was with hopeless old guys so doesn’t suit the narrative.

'Give yourself upper cuts': Eddie furious at journos after 'worst press conference I've ever had'

So nothing to do with the starting players who wasted 70% possession and handed over the game 20-17 behind.
Nothing to do with a forward pack giving away penalties at the breakdown and scrum including the final match winner for the AB.
IMHO blaming the halfback is nonsensical his box kick resulted in the penalty that Cooper kicked to draw the game and please ask Cooper about Whites pass which is one of the better passes in international rugby and significantly faster and more accurate than any other half currently in Australia.
More related to fact than opinion.

Predicted Wallabies 23 for RWC opener: Front row tweak, bag handler to finisher, what to expect from Georgia

White or the Wallabies.
Given his two starts in gold were with a different game plan based on territory not possession and team tackle counts in the 200’s and on the end of southern hemisphere referees penalty counts against the All Blacks where we kept ball in hand and received the benefit of northern referees penalising the AB and having 70 percent possession in Dunedin in the first half and completing 24 team tackles I would find it difficult to draw conclusion. I don’t think he was terrible.
He is still a better passer and kicker than McDermott who ran for zero meters against the AB in both games.

Predicted Wallabies 23 for RWC opener: Front row tweak, bag handler to finisher, what to expect from Georgia

Maybe his starting performances against France and Ireland in late ‘22 are a bit closer for you or his performance when the Brumbies put 50 on the Reds at Suncorp might help you think he has recovered.
Nah lets just do the usual Roar degeneration into parochialism and take cheap shots at guys trying their utmost at what no contributor here has had the skill to do.
Gotta love Australian rugby

Predicted Wallabies 23 for RWC opener: Front row tweak, bag handler to finisher, what to expect from Georgia

Give it a rest mate the only one never to represent anything would be you.
How many times did Australia box kick in the first and early second half
Try watching the game and making at least sensible comments

Bledisloe heartbreak: Eddie's Wallabies denied by last minute Mo'unga penalty as ABs seal stunning comeback

How can your halves be threatening with 30% possession and a forward pack being smashed at the breakdown and going backwards.
Defence, has everyone forgotten Whites tackle on George against England, his try saving cover on van de Merwe against Scotland or on Lood de Jager at the SCG.
Quade is coming back from a serious injury and needs minutes, surely Argentina was the game to blood Gordon not the AB but Eddy knows best.
Amused by those on here beating the drum that White is slow at the breakdown, Aussie parochialism at its best, he is the fastest Australian half to the breakdown with the best pass.
Surprised that with all the inside information some seem to have access to some statistical data isn’t supplied to support the statements till then I will just rely on the memories of Whites pass to McReight at Adelaide or his return ball to Wright at the SCG, slow work not.

Comment: Jones should go bold and pick young halves against All Blacks for MCG Bledisloe

You may want to check your vision at the 16 min mark and your criticism of Tom Wright.

The Wrap: Like Hillary at Everest Base Camp, Eddie Jones has a mountain ahead of him

Both player’s achievements are very impressive, White by the way played 2 years in Aus U20 and thinking the Gallagher equates to the NPC is laughable.

'If you roll over, you'll get murdered': Hatley warns Wallabies of Boks' 'bomb squad' danger

The current starting Australian halfback has won a Champions Cup with Exeter a Challenge Cup with Montpellier and a Gallagher Premiership with Exeter and a Super Rugby Au title with the Brumbies.
How many titles did the third string All Black Kerr Barlow win while playing in NZ maybe his teammates at La Rochelle should all be picked.

'If you roll over, you'll get murdered': Hatley warns Wallabies of Boks' 'bomb squad' danger

They had scored three tries in the first half, the conversion of 22 entry to points was very high so the temptation to go again or take the easy points is not always simple commonsense.
As in the second half taking the maul option may be viewed as simple commonsense when chasing points resulting in Reimers try.

The Reds' blueprint that can help Brumbies topple the Chiefs, and the key selection quandary facing Larkham

Good to see Lonergan recover from a couple of decidedly poor games against Force and Chiefs when starting.
As with most of the Brumby finishers Lonergan clearly understands his role to increase the tempo and go for the high risk plays which is the role of Reimer Lonergan and the other bench players for the Brumbies. Will be surprised if AAA is not the captain at the Brumbies in 24 as he has been since 2020 and is signed through to 27.

'Best halfback': The 'bold' play that helped seal SF - and rocketed bolter's Test captaincy credentials

White’s decision to take the penalties before half time was excellent captaincy.
Brumbies got the balance between maul and points exactly right last Saturday.
