Which raises the question as to why the separation wasn’t immediate? What is he going to do in the next 3 weeks that benefits Australian rugby. He didn’t even have the respect to show up to the Wallaroos game last weekend – even though his role included overseeing their program. Garbage human being.

'Load of rubbish': Eddie tees off on 'red herring' excuse for Wallabies' RWC flop, rejects Hoops issue, Lions link

This guy is a professional gaslighter.

The mental gymnastics needed to even work out what the hell he is saying is remarkable

Geez these comments are a real literary extravaganza

Plus the next coach will be hamstrung with a lack of money and high-performance resources – this is what Eddie has stated.

HM and PW will basically be finding a coach who is willing to be involved in the cut-price organisation, so that they can be called “Wallaby Coach”, but likely will not get the resources they need to coach effectively.

'I'm not a quitter': Under-siege RA chair won't follow Jones, blames 'broken system' for chaos

Yep. It’s a Wallabies coach, not a Director of Rugby or a High Performance director.

They will likely need to look at their overall structure. Similar to what Nucifora has done in Ireland. He didn’t know the system or anything there, but has the skillset to make it work.

Don’t forget their failed experiment in an age grade World Cup to penalise tackles above the nipples. Refs revolted and said it was impossible to ref in real time.

'So many s--t emotions:' Distraught Cane says he'll have to live with red card pain 'forever', Foz questions Kolisi escape

Yep. Well said. World Rugby is doing some dumb stuff right now. The next RWC will be a mess. 6 pools. Too 2 go to round of 16 plus the 4 best third place teams. How can you compare who is better amongst teams that didn’t even play each other? Overly complicated. What they really need to do is to get the 2nd tier nations to play more and more competitive games. Not add more minnows to the RWC so they can get cricket score run up on them.

The straw man arguments are out today! You’re trying to argue a different point. I’m not saying that head contact shouldn’t be punished. Under 20 min rule, the player still gets sent off for the rest of the game. And banned for subsequent games. All for compromising opponent safety. But after 20 minutes they can be replaced. Fair compromise. Red card used to be for egregious foul play. Usually “non rugby” acts like stomping or punching a guy in the face. With frame-by-frame TMO review there will be more and more of these reds. I still think players need to be punished in the game. Not like AFL where the only benefactor from the Match Review is the following weeks opponents.

But then the NRL GF was a great display of refereeing. Called the obvious stuff, didn’t get sucked into the bullshit. Let the players play and decide the game.

Plus it filters down. The ref abuse is normalised at the top level. So then some poor ref at community level cops it from the sideline.

Rugby has always been better at respecting refs. But I fear they are getting undermined by the administrators. This turns into frustration by the players and coaches. That then turns into criticism of the individual. That criticism should be directed at the suits.

I don’t agree with much Matt Williams says, but he mentioned that the refereeing has been poor for some time. I’m not sure if it’s the referees, but their framework.

For sure. Look at every knockout game. There were major complaints from the losing side – coaches, players and fans.

Straw man argument there. Not many reasonable people saying it’s wasn’t a penalty or a yellow or a red

I don’t recall it ever being as bad as this. World Rugby has thrown the officials under the bus. Almost untenable trying to ref one of these games now. Then you just get abused afterwards.

Disagree. I agree under current protocols it’s a red card. But now with TMO looking at every tackle frame-by-frame, there will be a lot more red cards. By all means penalise the player – even under 20 min rule, they are gone for the rest of the game. However playing a man down for most of the game ruins the spectacle for the fans. Ultimately that where World Rugby gets their money from – the fact that people want to watch. But fans are getting turned off by the constant TMO interjections.

The current law is what it is, and players know that. But it used to be a deliberate slap with a downward motion was needed for a penalty. A bit like the fact that there’s no such thing as an accidental head clash these days. Players have to adapt techniques. You can hate the law, but if the refs just officiate it that way, its hard to blame them.

WORLD VIEW: ABs pluck 'astonishing win from depth of their souls' while Irish face 'four more years of choking jokes'

Agree Chucked. Sexton was just shoveling it on and hoping someone outside him would do something. The All Blacks have been criticized for not employing a rush defence, and shutting down the options. However, they were happy to give Sexton some space as he never threatened them with running. That way they were able to contain the wider threats – part from Ali’s try. At the end they were prepared to do the same, be patient, stay onside, not give away a penalty, and hunt for the turnover.

REPORT: Eddie Jones to quit Wallabies and join Japan as head coach

With the cost of living crisis, it’s a pity that the cost of eggs is skyrocketing in Australia. This is due to a significant shortage. The main reason is that nearly the whole nation’s supply of eggs is all over the face of Waugh and McLennan. Time for them to offer their resignations too.
