Whew, another big quarter. North took the momentum but couldn’t quite take the lead. An
amazing burst from Brent Harvey (3 goals in 7 minutes) led the charge while physical play
reigned supreme throughout the term.
Petrie’s work splitting packs and using his body has to be praised. Cunnington’s clearance work
was essential too.
Jenkins continued his good night while Scott Thompson got amongst the play and worked very hard.
A lot of silly frees that term – reflective of the pressure. Big final term coming up shortly.

Ferocious tackling in North’s attacking 50 there! Firrito went long to Petrie in a 3 on 1 situation, not a great option, but North tackled continually and with great vigour until they got a holding the ball call as the Crows tried to clear. Great play.

Just looking at the replay of that contest Firrito does have a case, he had some of the ball there. If pushed you’d have to say Jenkins had more of it though and was the one controlling it, so that call is fine in my book.

Oh Jenkins! He’s on fire! Firrito is arguing that Jenkins didn’t take the mark cleanly and seems very frustrated but from the broadcast angle it looked like a strong grab from Jenkins, used his strength and took it. Either way he boots the goal from close range, that’s his fifth.
