Real lucky, its assumed that roughly 10% of tests will come back as abnormally high when testing for tb4.

Essendon dismiss WADA test report

I think new testing procedures were available, at least you would hope that is the case.

FWIU TB4 naturally occurs in the body usually at higher levels when people have injuries, whether these tests are just high or outside of normal ranges is not known.

So i guess will the charges be dropped against the other 32 players ?.

I personally would be happy that the highest placed team that wins through to the GF has it at their home ground, or highest capacity venue in their state.

But i also understand that the MCG is the spiritual home of the game and most people are happy with it there, it actually becomes part of a pilgrimage especially for non Victorian teams to win there, the Dockers a couple of years ago and the amazing stories of how people got there was flying via Singapore, Thailand, driving across the Nullabor in old buses etc to get to Melbourne was amazing.

Is the AFL ready for Western Australian domination?

I understand they are down 10%, that is not just a fluctuation of a couple of % up or down but a real drop.

I also understand that as a TV game, it is not the end of the world, but it is a pretty bad backdrop to watching.

Football club pay-TV ratings and attendances for July

Agreed, it is the easiest and most sensible option

At any rate believe what you want, pretty clear to me that Wills played Aboriginal games, he was the only white child in the district at one stage, spoke the local Aboriginal language fluently and no doubt played stacks of games as kids do.

His life was changed forever because of this contact, the impact this had on any future endeavours cannot be measured, think back to your own childhood and tell me what has impacted and stayed with you, and then put yourself in Wills shoes.

His father was killed by Aboriginals in QLD, yet Wills reintroduced them to his mother against his mothers wishes and also has great input into the first Australian cricket team to tour England, which just happened to be a all Aboriginal team.

Tell me again how Aboriginal Australians did not influence his life, and to think this would not play out across the start of our indigenous code is just folly.

1903: When the football codes collided

Considering …… Lawton Wills-Cooke, a great-nephew of Tom Wills — widely regarded as the founding father of the game — has told of a family story relating to Wills playing football with Aboriginal children at Ararat in country Victoria.

The 88-year-old revealed to long-time Wills chronicler Martin Flanagan that his grandfather Horace told Wills-Cooke’s mother Rene that great-uncle Tom played a form of football with local Aboriginal children.
Horace was Wills’s brother.
The story has been re-told in the family down the years.

…………….

Is anyone really surprised that Wills played a type of football with Aboriginal kids, he was after all fluent in their language, it makes complete sense.

Fuss wears hotpants ?.

What to expect ahead of A-League season 11

Pulling stories from hot pants ?

What to expect ahead of A-League season 11

Keating, Copeland, Charman also made a difference and gave the side a local flavour.

A Gold Coast win in this week's QClash will be a win for both clubs

@ Bondy

Don’t tell me you are one of those poms who gets upset by being called one ?.

1903: When the football codes collided

Untill recently a road sign in Kingsway ( suburb of Perth) read British Association football referring to a soccer ground, it was a real throwback to pre WW2.

I actually thought it was a UK expat league or something, but it wasn’t, it was how soccer in general was referred to pre WW2

1903: When the football codes collided

Just like the sweet science of boxing.

1903: When the football codes collided

Darts would be harder without hands.

1903: When the football codes collided

Yes i agree the term soccer is older but it was not till later that the term was used here on a regular basis.

It was more well known as British Football as the photo in the article says.

1903: When the football codes collided

Just like bull fighting and bungee jumping ( Vanuatu) surfing big waves, etc etc

1903: When the football codes collided

Are you telling me that soccer was associated with working class people because it was a game of finer touch and subtlely ?.

1903: When the football codes collided

Using your hands does not require skill ?.

1903: When the football codes collided

Yes weather is a key, but in general sports that were considered upper class sports in the UK were much more mainstream here, their media is brutal on anything, but can we blame an Australian ( rupert) for that.

1903: When the football codes collided

There is a very good reason why the British are good losers in sport, in general the British are quite polite and secondly the UK has thousands of years of history with fantastic arts and culture, they don’t rely on there sporting ability to make them feel important in the world like we do.

Australia’s culture is sport, or very heavily tied to it.

1903: When the football codes collided

Big difference between here and Britain Rick, in Britain many of those sports are sports played even today by different classes, Tennis, golf etc have really been available to pretty well all and sundry here in Australia for a long time, sport in the Uk has been much more defined by class.

Every country town in this country had tennis courts, usually grass, small wonder that we produced so many grass court serve volley champions, tennis in the UK has always been the domain of the wealthy few usually.

1903: When the football codes collided

In some quarters it is still referred to as Victorian Rules, but by 1890 the game was officially called Australasian Rules and most states just named there league after the state they were in TFL ( Tasmania ) SAFL (South Australia) QFA (Queensland) NSWFA ( which formed in Sydney in 1880 ) and of course the VFA and VFL.

A dirty rotten Australian game …. http://nswfootballhistory.com.au/dont-trespass

1903: When the football codes collided

Baseball had it’s origins in rounders or schoolyard type games, American Football has it’s origins in rugby.

1903: When the football codes collided

I understand that crowds are down 10%, surely another night game ( thursday) will drag crowds down further.
