Wastage ie the killing of thousands of dogs. Is that a bigger concern than ripping apart of thousands of tied up possums and rabbits ?

It seems that 1 in 5 trainers were live baiting—even after Four Corners and other public scrutiny. The minority spoiled it for the majority.

Maybe there was politics behind the decision but it does seem a reasonable decision as it seems the industry cannot control the 20% —and I’ve always like greyhound racing

NSW bans greyhound racing: Who is hit hardest?

I cannot understand why our pack stood up pretty well in the RWC —now pretty much the same pack except for Douglas, is pushed around by England. Why?

Would the Wallabies have won with Eddie Jones as coach?

Those days ———like when rod MacQueen was looking for grunt at the Brumbies and Googie was suggested, tough but a bit of a bad egg, they said. “Get Googie” apparently MacQueen said. Can anyone verify that story?

Would the Wallabies have won with Eddie Jones as coach?

Spiro–interesting piece as always.
Yes I think Cheika will develop more as a coach. He has not been coaching the Wallabies very long and been able to get by quite well with his “boss” style up until recently. Most young business leaders start with a more “top down” leadership style and as they gain experience and confidence and get trusted colleagues around them, the smarter ones adopt a more mentoring style. Some take longer than others and some never develop another style. I think Cheika is smart enough and will grow a lot as a coach. I sure hope so as my household is not enjoying me shouting at the TV every time the Wallabies play.

I’m happy with Brendan’s side –time for youth

Swing the axe, Laurie - NSW cleanout must start immediately

Just awful, unimaginative, mistaken ridden play by the Wallabies. Great defensive effort by England and clever tactics. Not sure what the Wallaby tactics were except pick up the ball and bash into someone until eventually you make a mistake and give England the ball to kick and push us back. Even Foley and the full back were trying to be battering rams. I do not get it!

Wallabies vs England highlights: England stun the Wallabies to claim the series

How fast was Glenn McGrath ? Anyone know? He took plenty of Test wickets and never seemed that fast although I reckon he would have seemed bloody fast if you were facing him.

A friendly message to all sub-130km/h Aussie quicks: Just give up

Nice summary. I’m on United States and Trip to Paris

Melbourne Cup 2015: Most complete preview and guide, plus tips

Spot on Andrew! A team to be proud of–on and off the field.

To: The Wallabies, c/o Twickenham

Good summary as far as I could tell following the game only via the Blog
My Foxtel was down–unbelievable —up at 230 am and no TV –Murphy is an optimiist!

World Cup wrap: All Blacks and Wallabies the right final

Of all the nights for Foxtel to be down !! Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh
Very hard to follow from the blog

Wallabies vs Argentina highlights: Australia secure World Cup Final showdown with the All Blacks

Great win —two in a row —the England win was fantastic and the Wales win was gutsy and just as good in a different way. I’ll be happier when I see us handling the high balls better and no doubt Cheika and co are working on that! Re the Golden Wall —-I’ll really believe it when I see it handle the AB’s in full flight —I think they will but not with 13 or 14 players. Its been a real pleasure watching the Wallabies play again and I’ve found myself only shouting at the TV a few times and mostly about box kicks.

SPIRO: Destiny beckons with the Wallabies' 'gold wall'

Fantastic game , good summary Spiro. The high balls worry me —-not sure I saw Folau take one cleanly. The Welsh chasing was pretty good but it will be in every match from here. I love Moore’s captaincy and Cheika is a very smart guy! Giteau is a revelation for me –so tough and team oriented.

SPIRO: Destiny beckons with the Wallabies' 'gold wall'

Great summary Spiro. Terrific game and great to see the Wallabies play so confidently and competently. Only one stat worried me —England 111 runs for 423 meters and Australia 104 runs for 283 metres—although it was 3 tries to one so we ran effectively. Just thought it an interesting stat in a dominant performance.

SPIRO: Brilliant Wallabies boot England out of World Cup

Yes I’m with you Brisneyland—I thought Burgess was lucky and Farrel’s carding justified–bit worried about Giteau’s ribs too and Hooper–think he is on report for his “clean out” I think. Great win and great to see the Wallaby scrum stickit to them!

Five talking points from the Wallabies' win over England

Tristan–very good interview. Read is definitely an innovator. Just not sure about investing in a hedge fund run by a bookie! Bookies are not renowned for making their clients profit!

Mark Read: Australia's most innovative bookie on where racing is at, and where it needs to go

An Australian sportsman who makes you proud! Seemingly no overt ego, no silly statements and enjoys his golf and appreciates how fortunate he is!

Jason Day's on top of the world

Siddle and Harris were vital cogs in our attack—-Harris was more a wicket taker but both could bowl consistently to a plan. In hindsight, once Harris was out, Siddle should have been definitely picked. Lehman wants a battery of 140 Kmh bowlers but In England its more important to bowl the right line and hit the seam.

The Ashes: Has Siddle saved his Test career?

Critical–very interesting addition–knowledge and data are powerful–I knew very little about cobalt before the article and subsequent comments. Thank you

By chance, I played golf recently with a guy heavily involved in selling horses into HK racing—he sold Silent Witness, winner of its first 17 starts—-and he said HK owners who all have to win a ballot to own a horse that races at HKJC, are just not willing to try racing mares there –mainly because hardly anyone has tried mares previously.

A bad case of the cobalt blues

Its still a fine line. If Clarke had sent England in the Third Test instead of batting, the whole series may have panned out differently. It turned out a complete rout, but often one or little things have huge impact. Haddin catches Root at Cardiff, Clarke sends them in —-.
All credit to England, they outplayed Australia in every aspect–but things could have turned out very differently.

England highlight the shortcomings of Australia and bookies alike

Very interesting article Kath. I like the cruelty angle. Fair enough given the chances of sudden death ensuing.

A bad case of the cobalt blues

How long has Test Cricket been played? How many sides have been rolled 20 minutes before lunch on day one? I’d say the answer is one –last night. Disgraceful performance. Poor leadership. It might have happened last Test too if Chris Rogers had not help up his end for 50 odd. This time he got a good ball early and the other 9 were found wanting.

Ashes: Where does arrogance end and stupidity begin?

Spot on Sarah. Adam is a fine Australian and footballer and it really saddens me every I see it happening and it annoys me the way it has been handled by the AFL.

The AFL risk losing much more than just Adam Goodes

Absolutely right Geoff. Rogers would be one of the first picked in my Ashes team. His English experience and great combination with Warner is a terrific asset and he has played more against the England bowlers than any other Australian batsman. As an old bloke myself, I get really annoyed at the constant references to him as a veteran. His age is irrelevant–he can bat really well, fields well and I imagine is a terrific team player!

Shut the Buck up and leave Chris Rogers alone

Well done Scott–have really enjoyed your articles and all the best with the coaching.
