Great article a usual Jay.
Always love a Super Saiyan reference.
How’s the coast in Hue. I’m up in Dalat at the moment for work heading to Hue for a couple weeks break.
Hard to see the Dubs getting beaten although it may take a month or so for then to get into Super Saiyan rythym.

Bittersweet symphony: Kevin Durant breaks the basketball universe

Is that you Lois Einhorn?

The Waratahs' scrum problems are self-inflicted

What’s ith the NBA logo rip off though?

Not fussed who wins, but I’ll go the Kings as underdogs.
Still hard to do as a Hawks fan though.

JOSH CHILDRESS: I want to leave my mark on the NBL

Thanks Josh.
You are correct in the league under the new ownership is doing a great job getting the basketball message out there, compare it to the past it’s like night and day.
The league is building nicely and over time with a few more teams in the right markets, would love to see teams in Brisbane, Newcastle, second Sydney and Melbourne teams, another kiwi team and bring back the tassie Devils, we may approach the hay day nineties again, only with sustainable, functional, financially viable and well supported teams.
With the strength of our junior systems, our stable economy and our obscenely good lifestyle, we can and always should have provided the perfect fit as you say for those that are future and former NBA players. Perhaps it is more appealing now as the world gets smaller and travel isn’t such an issue.
Of course we can’t compete financially against Europe or China but we can compete on a basketball IQ level and offer a great lifestyle in a stable and safe country where you know your next pay check will be honoured.
It will take all of us to keep the league growing and heading in the right direction. the fans have always been there, we the rusted on, we need the youth to fall in love again with our game, badgering their parents to take them, to buy their favourite players jersey. We need old fans re-engaged, we need to spread the love, as more players around the world hear guys like you speak about how great the league is down here and most importantly how much your enjoying life and basketball again we will be an attractive market.
Oh, and go the Hawks, Josh the only mistake you made was going to the dark side.

JOSH CHILDRESS: I want to leave my mark on the NBL

A great article Issac I agree wholeheartedly.
From my own experience I have recruited two friends to football through the FIFA franchise.
One a rusted on NBA fan who purchased a PlayStation then proceeded to only purchase one game NBA LIVE.
The other absolutely hated football, loved his Rugby League, cricket and NBA, after a few years of haranguing and arguing about the merits of FIFA, the team play, selections, formations, management and sheer immersion one got in their chosen teams, he finally cracked and gave it a go.
After the initial bumblings he was hooked, we chose a team, Burnley, took them through the leagues, won promotion to the Premier League and he has been an avid Clarets fan since, even going to their games whilst on his honeymoon, much to his lovely new wife’s chagrin. She has never forgiven me.
It opened his eyes to the world of football, the passion of its fans, the beauty of its technical players, the brutality and heartbreak of pro/rel.
He now has teams in every league and knows far more than me about them, their teams comings and goings, new young talents coming through. As life dictates I don’t have the time to keep abreast of all this and now rely on him to keep me informed.
If it wasn’t for the FIFA franchise, world football would have passed him by and one of its now most passionate supporters would have still been a hater.

Where does a video game sit in the sporting spectrum?

I assume farts a mistype but apt all the same

North Queensland vs Cronulla Sharks highlights: NRL Finals scores, blog

Good luck with those names Hosea ?
I hope for a great game, this is what the World Cup is all about.
Two beastly rugby nations giving their all.
How can you not love this ???

Tonga vs Georgia highlights: 2015 Rugby World Cup scores, result

Same criticisms of Gal over the last few years.
Great player, awful human.
But can he learn to trust teamates at this stage of his career. The Sharks have a great looking team next year can Gal leave other blokes to play their role or will he continue to overplay his hand, my guess is he will do as he has always done.
The Sharkies would be better if he learnt or retired.

Is Gallen too selfish to let Cronulla win?

Great team Lachlan very hard to choose from.
I like how you chose particular sides. Koroibete close but how can you beat Semi.
Again as others have said JWH close but not consistent, I’d have him on bench.
The only choice I’d argue over is Parker over Taupau, he has been amazing through this year in an under performing team. Not sure if he meets your criteria but either he or Parker in team or on bench.

Bickley's NRL team of the year

Very good first up signing for the Hawks.
Now if the private ownership can let Beve sign who he wants and not get involved in team selections, management and coaching the Hawks might be viable.
Give him the resources and the Gong crowds will come back. The Gong works best when the community feels it’s their team not just a rich guys plaything.

New-look Hawks make signing to win in NBL

I think you meant Wollongong Hawks not Wolves.
Although if the Wolves had played this season they probably would of put up a better performance than the woeful Hawks.

Administration situation: Is this the end of the NBL as we know it?

It’s also very easy to make the choice to not assault another especially a woman or a child.

Jake Friend - a remarkable turnaround

Maybe I should have been clearer and yes I left out convicted after being charged. My mistake
I meant convicted for any assault on a woman or any sexual assault whether it be human or animal. Obviously the courts have to convict.

Jake Friend - a remarkable turnaround

Touched a nerve there Pelican.
Fair enough he wasn’t convicted and he has become a model citizen, the Daily Telepath told me so apparently.
A self righteous rant it maybe but I stand by my premise that anyone charged with assaulting a woman should not have the privilege of playing sport professionally again.
How many employers would accept an applicant when their police check comes back flagged. “Ah something’s come up in your police check, care to explain”
” oh that it was nothing, I just assaulted some girl down the pub when I was having a few beve’s with me mates”
” oh that’s all well then your hired your just the type of upstanding person our company needs”
I can’t see it going that way somehow.
Yes I was wrong about Jake Friends non conviction but I was also alluding to the other low scum that have been convicted and are still playing who shouldn’t have the honour.

Jake Friend - a remarkable turnaround

He assaulted a woman.
No player should ever play another game once the courts convict a player with assaulting a woman.
Let alone being named captain.
Maybe he has turned his life around but no man should need a team of people to tell them not to hurt a woman.
With the ridiculous rates of domestic violence and sexual assault we have in this country I find extremely hard to swallow these redemption stories.

Jake Friend - a remarkable turnaround

I agree Sir Squidward
As I support the Kings of the Sacramento variety not the Sydney kind(go Hawks). I feel my team are safe from band wagoners for the forseeable future.
I’ve always had a soft spot for the Jazz, Stockton to Malone was poetry. If they had of won a championship all those years ago a few kids would of been rusted on supporters by now but that’s the way it goes people like winners.
It’s like the cigarette companies get em while their young and you’ll have for life.

Is it uncool to support the Utah Jazz?

To be realistic neither Brad Jones or Covic would have made the final squad so the article is moot.
Yes Covic has had some bad selection luck over the years but at 39 he is hardly the future.
Ange has just wasted his time announcing a 46 man squad,
But to be honest Brad Jones wouldn’t make my bench for Liverpool on FIFA15.

Socceroos: ACL winner Covic overlooked for an EPL benchwarmer

I like the idea of bringing new fans to Rugby League but why the obsession with Americanising everything.
Valley Girls are a West Coast Californian term for vacuous girls who are obsessed with celebrity and shopping.
I’m sure having our TV screens filled with American dross and having Halloween becoming bigger every year, we will end up having Independence Day games played on July 4th soon.
I’m sorry rant over, good article though, but please can we stop the Americaisation.

How to sell NRL to a valley girl

As the Dragons won’t make the finals, I’d have to split four teams,
Panthers, Cowboys, Warriors and Souths.
A win for either Cowboys or Warriors would be enormous for the league. It would be great for the Panthers after 20 odd years to win also.
However I believe we will see a Manly v Souths GF, so that leave the bunnies.
My dear departed Dad would haunt me for eternity if I went for Souths in a GF over his beloved Sea Eagles, but it would be lovely for their fans if Souths finally won.
But whilst writing this post I’ve realised how much I dislike the Bunnies and their mixamitosis ridden fans.
So go the Eagles, thanks Dad for setting me straight.

So your team's missed the eight: who will you cheer for?

I can understand EW wants to see this team again, but how can he still favour White, way too many ineffectual box kicks and slow service. And like most on here I believe Beale’s better out wider or on bench. My team would be;
RWC15
1. Slipper. 1. Sipper
2. Charles. 2. Moore
3. Kepu. 3. Kepu
4. Carter. 4. Carter
5. Simmons. 5. Simmons
6. Higgenbotham. 6. Pocock(c)
7. Hooper (c). 7. Hooper
8. Palu. 8. Palu
9. Phipps. 9. Genia
10. Foley. 10. Cooper
11. Horne. 11. Beale
12. Toomua. 12. Toomua
13. AAC 13. AAC
14. Beale. 14. Speight
15. Folau. 15. Folau
16. Hanson. 16. Charles
17. Cowan. 17. Sio
18. Alexander. 18. Alexander
19. Skelton. 19. Skelton
20. Fardy. 20. Higginbotham
21. White. 21. Phipps
22. Kuridrani. 22. Foley
23. McCabe. 23. JOC

Wallabies' Bledisloe Cup 2 team announcement: live updates

I hope he does JB,
I really do hope he will not let his ego cloud his judgement, and he goes back to Foley this week.

Kurtley isn't an inside centre, he's a second five-eighth

With all fit, healthy, eligible and in form I would like to see,
9. Genia
10. Cooper
11. Beale
12. Toomua
13. AAC
14 Speight
15. Folau
Bench would be 21. Phipps, 22. Foley, 23.JOC
Would love it if the ARU could convince Inglis, and Hayne to sign, what an amazing back line the Wallabies would have then. Pipe dream I know.
