To be fait Geoff it a long way down from Jamie Booth who was not all that far off TJ. Sorry seen it already been covered.

The Wrap: Richie Mo’unga takes it to another level at Eden Park

True about Jonah being the true megastar of the game, still remember in 1996 wandering through the streets of San Francisco and a man who was pretty down and out sitting on footpath begging saw my All Black shirt and as I wandered past he said ahhh All Blacks ,NZ Jonah Lomu!

All Black everything: My favourite All Blacks of the professional era

Great to see you thinking on it spew, but no thanks adding multiple cards isn’t going to help anything to game.

My solution to rugby’s card issue

Hi Geoff, one of my take aways from weekend was from Crusaders/Highlander’s game and Tony Brown’s remarks on penalties. I think if Tony thinks on it, perhaps he would agree if the Crusaders were infringing and then just beating their maul up, perhaps another form of attack from lineout could be used. Though I do wonder, if a real strong set piece and defence is what we wins games, is our game better because of it?
I do enjoy Super rugby being back, even if now I back in Godzone the Aus games are not on at great time.

The Wrap: Lineout issues tower over Super Rugby

He was, but one really good game doesn’t maketh a second coming. We had the same thing when Laumape had on real good game for Canes last year. And we keep doing it, just let the lad play a few good games before we go overboard. Oh and by way I been a fan for a few years, just let it run it’s course.

The Wrap: Lineout issues tower over Super Rugby

Only trouble with all defensive players staying a metre behind ruck, once a ruck has formed noone can come within 1m and so they wouldn’t be able to counter ruck. Think it would create a very very crammed defensive line.

Three easy changes to improve rugby right now

Shh Fin, don’t point out the obvious, some like to feel they getting hard done by 😛

Trans-Tasman Super Rugby competition confirmed for 2021

Everyone who actually listened to what was said, and didn’t read Newspaper headlines knows that wasn’t ever said. Same as a couple of months ago when supposedly McLennan and Clarke gave NZR until Sept 4th to agree to their proposal, that I doubt was ever said, but u=it makes for good headlines and sucks in the gullible.

Trans-Tasman Super Rugby competition confirmed for 2021

Seems they can sell rights to Kiwi comp in Aus under Sanzaar, so it shows how important SANZAAR is.

New broadcast deal puts Rugby Australia on cloud Nine

Yep realise they behind paywall as are most Super games etc, still if they are part of the $100mill deal is there payment to NZ and SA rugby for the rights from that?

New broadcast deal puts Rugby Australia on cloud Nine

That’s what I thought so a bit more cost cutting to go yet.

New broadcast deal puts Rugby Australia on cloud Nine

I prefer the system I thought that refs used (maybe wrongly), if they suspected a knock on and it could lead to a try etc, they just let it go and checked if a try was scored. I know we want the ref to pick up most things , but not absolutely sure I want a TMO being asked to caheck everything, because as I said earlier we will end up with 2 TMOs to check everything. I am not going crook at Berry, just do we want game to be reffed from a tv , which is basically how will end up, refs are human and if they can just get TMO to watch every little thing I believe they will just to cover arses.

The Wrap: Wallabies triumph in Suncorp dogfight

I think it’s great, maybe a little less money but gives security for a few years anyway. I do wonder if someone can enlighten me, it also includes Mitre 10 cup from NZ and Currie cup from SA as well as incoming tests from those 2 countries. Does this cut into payment much? Also if Force now back in Super, will there have to be payments for them ?

New broadcast deal puts Rugby Australia on cloud Nine

A ref is supposed to ask his AR’s if there was knock on, surely with 3 refs watching we can’t allow it to get to the point where a ref can ask for anything to be checked by a TMO. Because if we do we will get TMOs having to check things so often in a game it will stop constantly. The TMO should keep watching the game on TV so he can catch incidents of foul play etc that the ref misses. I can hear the screams of outrage when someone get’s away with something because the ref didn’t see it and TMO misses it because he going back through a replay for a knock on. We will end up with 2 TMOs in the end if we keep that up.

The Wrap: Wallabies triumph in Suncorp dogfight

You are right, but refereees have to be competent enough to know when they can ask the question, surely.

The Wrap: Wallabies triumph in Suncorp dogfight

Gloria I think you will find that a TMO is a Television match Official and not actually an Assistant Referee. They are actually 2 totally different things. I not worried about the decision etc, but just think you will find they are 2 totally different things in the law books.

The Wrap: Wallabies triumph in Suncorp dogfight

I would doubt whether SARU could pay anything anyhow, they have had as many difficulties as any other Union this year. And they must be steering down the barrel of no Lions tour next year, as the chances of that happening must be getting more remote everyday. I cannot see thousands of Lions supporters being able to travel by next June or whenever, so I think we may all need to just tighten belts a bit more.

The quick questions: Blame games and compensation claims

Ardie was a 7 who played at 8, in one way it causes wht perhaps was wanted Sotutu at 8?

All Blacks name 38-man squad for final Bledisloe Cup games and Tri Nations

BB was named at 10 originally anyway, not sure there any change

All Blacks name 38-man squad for final Bledisloe Cup games and Tri Nations

That’s what I thought, why I was surprised with the comment by Hamish saying we will have 5 teams, if we can afford them. I agree so much we can’t have another Force type fiasco and would so you would think more of the same and pay wages that they can afford. Like most sensible rugby people I so much hoping that a decent TV deal is done, everyone (and I mean everyone) stops playing games in media or anywhere else and sits down ,has a beer and work it out!

The Wrap: Four rugby mates walk into a bar...

And of course NZ rugby can’t and I would bet have no and never had any intention of running a comp in Oz, that is beyond stupid to even suggest otherwise.

The Wrap: Four rugby mates walk into a bar...

Geoff do you have any idea which Oz team would be on chopping block if they can’t afford 5 teams as hinted at by Hamish McLennan? You think it would be Rebels?

The Wrap: Four rugby mates walk into a bar...

Hamish McLennan said on tv before this was leaked that Aus voted for Dec 5th finish, is he saying different now? How was resolution passed if NZ and Aus against and SA and Arg were for it. And before anyone calls me out have a look at Hamish on NZ Breakdown last week. He did say it was passed , but then said Aus voted for shortened comp! So I a bit confused.

Leaked document adds further tension to Australia-NZ rugby row

Who has actually seen the minutes? I know it could well be true, but even reading this post it says the minutes leaked ‘appear’ to show the Kiwis agreed? They either show they did, or they didn’t , not appear to of! I have no reason not to believe that it happened, but by god if someone guilty because some reporters say they have seen minutes that ‘appear’ to show them agreeing? Why haven’t they just printed the pertinent parts so we can all finish hanging them? 😡

Leaked document adds further tension to Australia-NZ rugby row

Why go off what Sumo says? If we all just really read the official statements everyone would be calmer. Sumo has probably no more knowledge then most of us.
