I am 78, and played Rugby until I was 35. Rugby was my life. Since coming to Australia, I have become a Rugby League convert. As I could not believe how piss poor Rugby is in Australia.
Rugby League is faster, tougher, non stop action, and hugely exciting. I never miss a Rugby League game. The only time I ever watch Rugby now, is when my beloved Bokke are playing.

Wallabies' young gun mulling NRL switch as Rebels' future continues to cloud picture

I am 78, and love the Storm who never give up. The Storm give me reason to feel happy. And I have never been to Melbourne. I live alone in Sydney.

Lance the boil. Squeeze the poison out. Get rid of Latrell. Then watch the Souths difference.

Demetriou facing sack after Souths' disastrous start with Bennett, Bellamy, Burgess possible replacement options

OK. Honesty. Latrell is a dirty player. Recently he smashed Addo-Carr on the head when Addo Carr was already out of play on the sideline. Against the Warriors he was put on report TWICE. But again leniency to Latrell for fear of the race card being played, and upsetting him, won out. Players from other teams would have been carded. But not for protected Latrell. Latrell is poison for any NRL Club.

'I don't know what goes through Latrell's mind': Mitchell on report twice as Wahs dominate sorry Souths

Two minutes longer and the Roosters would have won. With 11 men. And Kleary left four points on the field when Suaalii was off.
What a pity.

I am South African, 78, never been to Melbourne, and love the Storm. Storm never give up and play to the 81st minute.

Storm warning: We’re sleeping on Melbourne again – they might be the biggest threat to the Panthers

Rugby in Australia is such absolute crap that I stopped watching rugby many years ago, and watch Rugby League. Yes, Rugby League is brutal. But the speed, fitness levels and incredible skills of Rugby League are next level. I love the adrenaline pumping excitement of Rugby League. I am 78, and grew up playing rugby until I was 37. Now I only watch my beloved Bokke.

'What the hell's going on': Ex-Wallabies question 'losing' culture, pathways at Waratahs

I am sick of the NRL dancing round Latrell, as if he is a protected species- in case Latrell pulls the race card. As he does. Get in front of him once and for all, and pull him into line.
Mitchell is the problem at Souths. But everyone is running scared of telling the truth. Mitchell is poison for any NRL team.

The tough, resilient never give-up Storm. And without two stars. I love the Storm. And I have never even been to Melbourne. Great start, Storm.

You have to understand that Cricket South Africa is run by incompetent Communist Cadres, as is the rest of South Africa. This is the reason that South Africa has gone from the brilliant sparkling diamond jewel of Africa, to a corrupt slum of Africa. I weep for my beloved country.

Our worst fears are realised - South Africa's shocker across the ditch is bringing Test cricket into disrepute

I am South African, 78, and don`t care. I gave up on SA Cricket in April 1994.

I love NRL, and cannot wait for the new season to start. I`m sick of boring cricket. Bring on the NRL.

My story: I am 78, Bok Befok, and rugby was all I ever dreamed of playing. After I moved here, I could not watch League, and had no understanding of the game. Then one day by mistake I found a League game on Fox, and my eye was caught by a guy named Billy Slater. I was hooked. My hero was Andre Joubert the amazing and brave Springbok fullback in our 1995 World Cup Win. But this guy named Billy Slater was from another planet. And combined with Cameron Smith, a player who was always two steps ahead of the game, is the reason that today I am a Rugby League tragic, and except for the World Cup, seldom if ever watch Rugby Union. And that is why, although I have never been to Melbourne, I support the mighty Melbourne Storm.

Jokes and subject aside, I am South African, 78, and actually watched the great Ken Catchpole in the Springboks vs Wallabies Test in my hometown of Port Elizabeth, in September 1963. What a player. John Thornett was captain, and the Springboks actually lost that Test 22-6. But those 1963 Wallabies were outstanding.

'No longer have any trust or faith': Rugby Australia chairman told to resign by SIX states, EGM looms with 'gloves off'

I am South African, 78, and the pride in our Springboks has NEVER EVER waned. Can`t say the same about the Wallabies, who are never even mentioned here, and no longer belong in the top tier of Rugby Nations. Truth.

Harry Jones is the best columnist, bar Spiro on the Roar. And when will you understand that the Bokke do NOT care how they win – except that they win. And that is what Springboks do. I have been Bok Befok for over 70 years, and the pulse of South Africa is that the Bokke must win. We don`t want entertaining rugby. We want winning rugby.

Anything but a snorefest: Revisiting one of the most fascinating RWC finals ever

As a proud South African, 78 now, the critics can say whatever they wish. The Springboks are World Cup winners. The Springboks have made history. The Springboks have made a Nation burst with pride. The Springboks have made South Africans now living in every corner of the world burst with pride. The Springbok has been a part of my life from probably the age of two or three. When my late Dad used to say to me at that tender age: ” what do you say when you see a man in green”? And my answer would always be: ” Go Bokke”. As my years roll on, if I don`t make it to the 2027 World Cup, I will go to my rest with a smile, knowing that the Springboks are World Champions.

Legacies can't be won: History won't look back kindly on Rassie's Springboks

Hi Spiro, as a proud South African, and someone who has met you a few times, I thank you for your excellent article. You are one of only a handful of people who know the proud history of the Springboks going back to the days of Philip Nel, Boy Louw, Danie Craven etc. I am 78 now, and the Springboks have given me great joy and pride all of my life. The Bokke will never give up. I hope we can catch up again in Bondi Junction to talk about rugby and the Springboks. All respect to you.
