'It can be something great': Schmidt turns to 'scrum doctor' as next step in Wallabies rebuild

Does Laurie Fisher have a history as a defence coach I always thought he was a Ruck and Maul specialist? And to that point why is there not a R&M coach if there is a lineout and scrum coach?

'It can be something great': Schmidt turns to 'scrum doctor' as next step in Wallabies rebuild

I think Gordon is a big part of the problem, Jack Grant looked better when he came on and I think Gordon is just a poor Captain and leader on the field.

'Something's not working': Tahs' Good Friday turns into a nightmare as Rebels recruit Daugunu seals upset win

Gordon is a terrible Captain and should be replaced, it’s his job to make decisions on field and correct tactics etc. that are going wrong of which there are far too many from last night’s game to list. Jack Grant looked far better when he came on.
Why was Edmed so deep, he does not normally play that deep why did Gordon not make him adjust?
Praise for Harrison but the break he made was excellent but just about everything else he did was poor.
What a poor game, have been a faithful Waratahs supporter for 40+ years but that game broke me by half time and the end was not just a coach killer but a fan killer in regard to myself.

Edmed needs to be relieved of the kicking duties and if no one else in the starting 15 can do it is time to try out a new 10.

Deja vu for Tane as Drua deliver another heart-breaker to under fire Coleman

I was spared the despair of watching after 20 minutes, Stan just decided it did not want to work anymore. Thank god, even in that twenty minutes other than the scrum there was not a lot to even hope about. Not going to be a popular comment but Edmed showed why Donaldson was usually preferred. He may be tough as rocks but he doesn’t offer much running the show or in attack. I hope next week they find something in defence or even as a staunch fan of Coleman I’ll be at the head of the queue demanding he goes. It’s strange is is usually a guy that players want to follow but they looked like they had nothing to play for.

'A bit deflating': Headaches for Waratahs after Reds trial thrashing, Brumbies win after Force miss post-siren kick

“Without a Leinster-esque side in Australia to build the national team around,” I have very little knowledge of what that means in terms of Rugby strategy or skills but if it means success would it not mean The Brumbies in terms of Australian Rugby at least as a starting point? I know they have not won a SR title for a while but they have been the best performing team in Australia for a long while. Or does it mean he has to find a team that has the players that have the skills etc. that best fit the mould of Leinster?

Chasing stability over pipedreams and rent-a-quotes - why RA chose an 'Ordinary Joe' to move on from Eddie as Wallabies coach

The women’s sevens team should be up there with The Mathildas as a sporting brand but it’s a shame that they do not have the same public profile. Far more successful and wonderful athletes and role models.

'Massive boost': No Hoops but Aussie men's sevens get welcome surprise for Perth, women name formidable team

Marty Roebuck over Israel Folau every time, loved watching him play. It’s a shame Roger Gould couldn’t be in the vote again a master at FB and I would have trouble even as a Tah’s fan separating the two as the best I ever watched. As others have said just the safety and surety factor when kicking in anyway and their defence.

Greatest XV: Matt Burke's balls of steel and how one word from John O'Neill sent the Wallabies 'nuts'

Could do worse than picking Joey Walton ahead of Perese.

Exclusive: Quade, Hooper to miss World Cup selection as Jorgensen rockets into squad

Yeah I thought the same, there was definitely an arm wrap with one arm but it happened as a result of the shoulder hitting Ikitau then it was forced forward.

Studs and duds: Carter's 'brave' step up, Cheik hails 'bloody handful' as Marky nails WC spot, Wright gets it wrong

The replay clearly showed the Kiwi player lead with his head straight into Hoopers head.

'It's disappointing': Waratahs smashed by Barrett's Blues as missed chances, poor discipline kills off season

I thought Joey Walton was solid again.

'It's disappointing': Waratahs smashed by Barrett's Blues as missed chances, poor discipline kills off season

Why was the off the ball coat hanger on Hooper not carded, they looked at it and just gave a penalty?

Magnificent Mark: Waratahs secure finals spot with stunning win over Fiji

Totally agree with this and think you were suggesting this at the beginning of the season jeznez. Now Walton is back there is no reason not to do it and Mark N. I think would be a revelation at 15.

'Focus around moving quicker': Coleman must revert back to recipe of 2022 for finals success

I don’t remember Donaldson kicking nearly as much last year and his passing is usually pretty good, can only assume it is a tactic given to him by Coleman and he just isn’t executing it well at all.

'A real grind': Waratahs keep season alive by winning ugly against Highlanders

What is wrong with Donaldson, i had huge hopes for him last year but since being put at FB at the start of this season he has been only OK at best and only at times. Only half joking maybe Hooper should have a stint at 10.

'A real grind': Waratahs keep season alive by winning ugly against Highlanders

Contact with the neck or head is foul play accidental, fair contest or not.

'Gorilla running up Oxford St': Tahs smash Force to get season started as Perese finally comes to life

Twice

'Gorilla running up Oxford St': Tahs smash Force to get season started as Perese finally comes to life

And two times when Jorgensen jumped to catch the ball he was hit in the head by the other player with a swinging arm.

'Gorilla running up Oxford St': Tahs smash Force to get season started as Perese finally comes to life

There is a lot of negativity for Donaldson’s selection. I think EJ saw his potential from the A games and how he went on tour and gave him the benefit of the doubt. This season he was stupidly picked at 15 for 3 games and I think that had an effect on his play when returning to 10 for the last 3 games. He has made a few errors in those games but I think has still played his role pretty well in a side that is being beaten in the forwards and through lots of penalties and errors. Very few of those have been made by Donaldson and I think DC’s tactics have also not allowed Donaldson to fully display his abilities. So I like that EJ (who I’d say has a better eye for talent than anyone on The Roar) has given him an opportuniy to show IF he has it in this squad, if he doesn’t he wont get picked again.

Wallabies winners and losers: Eddie has gone away from Rennie's 'form' principle and backed his eye

Unlike Paul Kent’s deranged article in the Daily Telegraph today what a refreshing piece of commentary by Trent Robinson.

According to Kent because the Tah’s can only get 13 fans to a game against the Brumbies in Canberra, Rugby draws no crowds. Never mind the twenty five thousand that attended the Tah’s v Brumbies game to start this season. That would be fact getting in the way of fiction.

'I don't want NRL to be feeder system': Gus fires back in Suaalii slanging match after Robbo blasts 'ridiculous comment'

I think Donaldson played fine, he was looking to pass but the centres were often not in the right position to receive passes when in attack.

'A hole in confidence': Brave Waratahs go down in slog fest as Chiefs continue unbeaten run in SRP

Going to the Tah’s game again this Friday, not expecting a win unfortunately. Does Joey Walton usually play Inside or Outside Centre, would rather he was at Outside and Perese moved to the wing and Edmed given a run at Inside Centre.

SRP Round 5 teams: Rebels lose key men, Tate benched, Brumbies rest FIVE Wallabies, Waratahs suffer injury crisis

I think Coleman messed up with his choice of 10 at the start of the season and the forwards are yet to put a consistent and solid 80 minutes in all season.

Donaldson should have been the 10 from the start and just picked up where he left off working with Gordon and Foketi on the Wallabies tour. DC however put him out of position at 15 where he was ordinary and Edmed failed to play as well as he did even before he was replaced by Donaldson last year. This also would have allowed Edmed to have a start at 12 (which some of us advocated for early on) when Foketi was first out of the squad and he could slot back their now Foketi is injured yet again.

Let’s hope DC sees Foketi’s injury and Jorgensen’s possible omission through injury as an opportunity to move Perese to the wing and Mark N. to FB and try a whole new centre combination. Edmed and Walton or some other combination that people more knowledgeable than I am can think of because the backline has not clicked.
