I think Coleman messed up with his choice of 10 at the start of the season and the forwards are yet to put a consistent and solid 80 minutes in all season.

Donaldson should have been the 10 from the start and just picked up where he left off working with Gordon and Foketi on the Wallabies tour. DC however put him out of position at 15 where he was ordinary and Edmed failed to play as well as he did even before he was replaced by Donaldson last year. This also would have allowed Edmed to have a start at 12 (which some of us advocated for early on) when Foketi was first out of the squad and he could slot back their now Foketi is injured yet again.

Let’s hope DC sees Foketi’s injury and Jorgensen’s possible omission through injury as an opportunity to move Perese to the wing and Mark N. to FB and try a whole new centre combination. Edmed and Walton or some other combination that people more knowledgeable than I am can think of because the backline has not clicked.

'Dig our way out': NSW not panicking yet despite clunky loss as Tahs sweat on injured star trio

In lack of a more obvious player who is a guaranteed starter, who has the ability and experience I think it has to be White.
Frost I think it is just too early though if I were coach I’d be tempted to give it to him. Are none of the other second row options candidates? Rodda is injured obviously but are none of them someone who has good leadership capabilities?
Is there someone Eddie may be able to bring back from OS now to fill the role or is it too late?

O Captain, my Captain! Contenders to lead the Wallabies at RWC - and the surprise option who could suit Eddie

We have had a few losses over the past several years to Cuba but all very close. They don’t seem to be playing that well this tournament, they had two wins and two losses to progress to the QF’s. Wins against Chinese Taipei and Panama, losses V Italy and Netherlands.

Shocking the world: How Australia made baseball history

Great stuff Team Australia hopefully onwards and upwards against Cuba.

Shocking the world: How Australia made baseball history

I think it was Perese not Donaldson that didn’t pass and it would have been to Donaldson who was supporting on the outside.

'Shake up this comp': Fearless Rebels punish 'loose' Waratahs in huge upset as Hardwick, Gordon shine

I cannot understand why Donaldson has not been moved to 10, I am a fan of Edmed but he just has not been as effective as he was at 10 last year and I think Donaldson is better at 10 than 15. Maybe Walton isn’t quite there yet after injury but It’d be great to have him at 13 and move Perese to the wing.
10 Donaldson, 11 Jorgensen 12 Foketi, 13 Walton, 14 Perese and 15 Mark N. is how I’d start them not positive re the wing numbers.

COMPLETE SRP teams Round 3: Brumbies unleash Test duo, Reds pick and stick, Cron wields axe, Wallabies back for Tahs

Thanks for the spelling.

'Humble pie': Larkham's Brumbies spoil Waratahs party as young guns shine on Super Rugby debuts

I disagree about Edmed I thought he had possibly the worst game I have seen him play to be honest. 3 missed tackles, at least one missed kick at goal an ordinary pass or two.

I think the Tah’s all looked a bit over trained and flat.

Thought the reserve hooker (Vanivalu?) for the Tah’s looked good when he came on.

'Humble pie': Larkham's Brumbies spoil Waratahs party as young guns shine on Super Rugby debuts

Yeah I was there too and Edmed I thought looked really flat, made at least three mistakes in defence but did a couple of good things in attack. His kicking was a bit off too.

Great stuff, wish he’d been given higher level opportunities last year.

I think Edmed looks more like a 12 myself and I hope they develop a really good combination.

Glad to see Edmed having a run at 12 outside Donaldson, been hoping they’d give that a go for a while.

Did DR cede too much to his assistants?

ANALYSIS: Why Eddie was sacked by England, and what he must change to succeed this time around

Will Cooper even want to play under Eddie Nic? Is there any history between the two?

“How Rennie has not managed Vunivalu really pees me off. Vunivalu is a world class finisher predominately. It pees me off our wingers now need to come in and play in the centre of the park which typically leads to nothing apart from turning the ball over and we can’t put together backline plays and create space on the wing for someone of Vunivalu’s class.”
Mark N’s performances on the wing completely contradict this comment, he was always looking for work and popped up everywhere, even playing half back at Rucks on a couple of occasions and yet still got into position on the wing to score try’s.

Whose stocks grew despite injury, who was a waste of money? Wallabies' winners and losers from 2022

I think Coleman and Cron would be a good Wallabies coaching Combo. I’d like to see Jones if at all in a director of Super Rugby role getting all the SR teams singing from the same Song Sheet.

ANALYSIS: England's Eddie decision was wrong and makes no sense at all - Australia's next move is less clear cut

I wonder if Edmed will play at 10 and Beale at 12 and Donaldson at 15 and they’ll play Mark N on the wing and maybe shift him to 15 later in the game for Nadolo to come on to the wing. Then Donaldson off or to 10 and Edmed off?

'Drop in and have a beer with them': Coleman's next goal for Waratahs as coach backs Wallabies' World Cup plan

I really think he could be a success at 12 and he and Donaldson I think would work really we together.

'Drop in and have a beer with them': Coleman's next goal for Waratahs as coach backs Wallabies' World Cup plan

Beale at 12 just worries from a defensive perspective, if he does play there I hope he proves me wrong. Mot too sure about him safely taking the ball into contact as well.

'Drop in and have a beer with them': Coleman's next goal for Waratahs as coach backs Wallabies' World Cup plan

I think you are right but I’d prefer Edmed to start at 12 than Beale.

'Drop in and have a beer with them': Coleman's next goal for Waratahs as coach backs Wallabies' World Cup plan

How do you see the backline running out for the first game given Foketi and Perese in particular will be missing?

'Drop in and have a beer with them': Coleman's next goal for Waratahs as coach backs Wallabies' World Cup plan

I thought Donaldson looked eminently comfortable when he stepped into 9, and his passing looked superior to Gordon and McDermott. He made no mistake that I saw and McReight did a few times step in and force Donaldson back to 10.

The Wrap: Resurgent Wallabies lay down a marker for the World Cup’s 'group of life'

I thought Donaldson was far from anonymous, he tackled well, passed well, kicked well, took on the line on one occasion and for ten minutes played half back whilst Gordon was off the field. Given the possession and ascendancy Wales had whilst he was on the field not really surprising, he didn’t have much of an opportunity to stamp his mark on the game.

The Wrap: Resurgent Wallabies lay down a marker for the World Cup’s 'group of life'

Pretty sure Donaldson played at 15 and Edmed at 10 for the majority of the back end of the season as Edmed didn’t warrant being changed when Donaldson returned from injury. On the Oz A tour Edmed started at 10 but didn’t have great game in the first match and was changed for Donaldson. Donaldson played really well and was the starting 10 for the rest of the tour.
