I really think he could be a success at 12 and he and Donaldson I think would work really we together.

'Drop in and have a beer with them': Coleman's next goal for Waratahs as coach backs Wallabies' World Cup plan

Beale at 12 just worries from a defensive perspective, if he does play there I hope he proves me wrong. Mot too sure about him safely taking the ball into contact as well.

I think you are right but I’d prefer Edmed to start at 12 than Beale.

How do you see the backline running out for the first game given Foketi and Perese in particular will be missing?

I thought Donaldson looked eminently comfortable when he stepped into 9, and his passing looked superior to Gordon and McDermott. He made no mistake that I saw and McReight did a few times step in and force Donaldson back to 10.

The Wrap: Resurgent Wallabies lay down a marker for the World Cup’s 'group of life'

I thought Donaldson was far from anonymous, he tackled well, passed well, kicked well, took on the line on one occasion and for ten minutes played half back whilst Gordon was off the field. Given the possession and ascendancy Wales had whilst he was on the field not really surprising, he didn’t have much of an opportunity to stamp his mark on the game.

Pretty sure Donaldson played at 15 and Edmed at 10 for the majority of the back end of the season as Edmed didn’t warrant being changed when Donaldson returned from injury. On the Oz A tour Edmed started at 10 but didn’t have great game in the first match and was changed for Donaldson. Donaldson played really well and was the starting 10 for the rest of the tour.

WALLABIES TEAM: Rennie springs No. 10 surprise, Rebels prop set to debut, Wright returns to fullback

I think if Foketi is injured still at the start of the SR season Donaldson will play 10 and Edmed will hopefully be given a run at 12. Mark N to play FB. Harrison I think needs to find another team, to answer your other question I think Harrison is now at 3 in the 10’s pecking order at the Tah’s

ANALYSIS: Positives emerge on Wallabies' Spring Tour, including a successor to Israel Folau

Would you play Wright at FB for that reason or his defence and catching abilities too weak?

And I believe to drop him to give him a chance to work on his issues but also give him that reality check.

I’d drop Beale from the squad completely and put Mark N at 15, Perese to the wing and Joey Walton to 13 Foley out and Donaldson or Edmed to 10.

Bring back Beale: Tahs veteran the key to fixing Wallabies' astounding lack of attacking variety

Yeah it will be very interesting who plays FB at the Tah’s. I am hoping Coleman only has Beale in the squad to maybe impart some knowledge. Harrison was put there to start with but got injured and I just don’t think he is robust enough to play 15, Donaldson went their when he returned from injury as Edmed was playing well at 10 but Donaldson seems to have reclaimed the number 1 spot in the pecking order for 10. So Edmed I think would be great at 12 if Foketi is still injured otherwise he goes to the bench as I’d rather Mark N got the opportunity at 15. I certainly don’t think Beale is the answer to anything and not a walk up start anywhere in the Tahs let alone the Wallabies.

When you have Hodge why is Beale even an option in terms of position coverage?

Kelleway is out foot injury, is Foley available and even if he is why not give Donaldson a start?

Confirmed: Wallabies' worst fears realised over Tupou, White out of Wales clash amid injury crisis

Is ther at least someone if not with experience but potential to bring back from OS or are the young ones coming through going to mature enough in 12 months?

The problem is it’s not just this injury but the multiple in particular soft tissue injuries the Wallabies have experienced under Rennie’s reign. I can’t remember if it was Horan or Mitchell but one of them had said they had only seen one Achilles injury in all their playing years. This is the 4th of 5th under Rennie so maybe there is something in the way they are training and or their weights program and them carrying too much bulk.

Gordon I think.

With Paisami leaving so early they could have at least tried him at 12 and hooked him if he didn’t cut it.

Worked out OK with Coleman coming on board but Tah’s should never have let Cron go. All Gibson’s fault of course.

'We'll rise': Wallabies must respond with a performance against Ireland or leave Rennie vulnerable

Cron if he can get out of his Japanese Contract otherwise give Coleman the gig, he seems to be good at resurrecting Basket Cases.

Wow that Kellaway stat really surprises me, do you have one for his test match missed tackles?

I think Harrison has gone from 1 in the 10 pecking order to 3 and hence he was starting at 15 at the start of the season until injured. I think he’s not robust enough to play 10 or 15 and Coleman will either start Edmed or Donaldson at 10 with one on the bench or Donaldson will play 15 with Edmed at 10. Personally I’d like to see Edmed get time at 12 with Donaldson at 10 and Mark N. at 15.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Edmed get a run at 12 if Foketi is still injured when the season starts.

Joey Walton's coming back to the Tahs in 2023 - this is why he'd make the perfect Wallabies centre partner for Len Ikitau
