Better Red than anything else.

I’m not sure why you fear for the Reds next year. Finishing second last this year isn’t exactly a high point to fall from. They’ve already lost most of their supporters. Most of us who still go to the games are going to have a beer with mates because there just isn’t much to cheer about on the field. The change of coaching personnel clearly wasn’t the answer and I don’t see any change in the dire player recruitment and retention we have had over at least the last 5 years either.

Wallabies tried to keep Kerevi: Johnson

Nice to win the plasticine round to get a win for the last home game of yet another disappointing season. Hopefully the Reds can improve their player recruitment and retention and send the coaching staff away to summer school so at least look like they have a clue what they are doing next season.

Reds down Blues in last-gasp win

Just in case anyone was in any doubt that there is no-one in SANZAAR with any sort of strategic plan. Every year there is a different roll of the dice as to what competition they trot out and what teams are in it. Total nonsense.

Sunwolves reportedly axed from Super Rugby

There is still plenty of time to test out a few more players in the 10 jersey. Sooner or later one of them will turn out to be the miracle the Reds need. Someone should run a sweep on who will be wearing 10 for the Reds next week.

Super Rugby Round 5 teams: Five changes for Reds as Reece Hodge returns to the Rebels' starting line-up

The Reds are just rebuilding, have a young team and amazing culture. It’ll be a gripping contest next week to see if they can lift themselves to 13th in the power rankings with a game against the Sunwolves.

Super Rugby Power Rankings 2019: Round 4

Actually the first examination for Thorn was last season, which hasn’t resulted in the crowds knocking at the doors for season tickets. There really needs to be significant improvement this year with more wins on the board and something for the fans to get excited about. It’s not just the coaches and the players but the whole Reds organisation that has failed to deliver for years now. We are just thankful there wasn’t another ill-considered, high profile, expensive flop signed up during the off season.

Thorn’s cultural revolution at Reds set for first examination

WE ARE RED – not maroon! I guess that decision will save me from thinking about buying any new merch for the next season. After so many seasons of disappointment – including Thorns first season as coach – I go into the forthcoming season being thankful for the ability to get a decent beer not far from the stadium. Zero expectation leaves plenty of opportunity to be pleasantly surprised though.

Have the Queensland Reds got their act together?

If I cared enough (which I don’t any more) it would be fascinating to see the average number of minutes played for players with more than 50 caps. Phipps just keeps getting those few charity minutes every match instead of one of the up and coming 9s getting some experience and doing a better job.
just nothing positive about this team at the moment.

Foley recalled for crunch Argentina Test

Given it’s already broken, maybe they think you can’t make it any more broken?

Wallabies say Argentina result is "not make or break"

Disappointing there is no coverage without paying for Foxtel. Given my reduced level of interest in the current Wallabies setup, I’d prefer to see the womens game.

Wallaroos vs Black Ferns: Start time, broadcast information, finish time

As a season ticket holder since the Reds moved away from the debacle that was Ballymore, another rubbish season where we finish 13th with a huge points for and against deficit is just not good enough. I’m not going to distinguish between coach, recruitment, management or players because the Reds are the whole organisation, and as a whole they performed VERY poorly yet again. To talk about rebuilding again is a cop out. The organisation should be better than needing to call every year a rebuilding year. I’ve seen nothing from the organisation that would encourage me for next season. Sure our scrum and some forward play looks good, but everything else from lineouts to game management to basic skills to management of the squad is poor. The talk of another large number of players leaving or being pushed out the door and the recruitment of yet another highly paid blow-in doesn’t help.

A good starting season for Thorn’s young Reds

The Reds were gifted a better final result for the season than they deserved. Without the stupidly soft red card they would have been in trouble. Yet another season of poor defence and inconsistency in every facet of the game. Watching the Reds win a few scrums isn’t going to get the fans back.

Reds seal season in style

Saying you were surprised at someone saying “Michael Cheika is a lunatic” was surely sarcasm.

Revealed: The Wallabies team to play Ireland, as voted by the fans

That’ll keep my Wallaby supporters jersey and ticket money in the cupboard for another 5 years. Never, ever should have been made captain.

Rugby Australia offer Hooper five-year deal to stay in Australia

One swallow does not a summer make.

I’ll take a win as being much preferable to the alternative, but the Reds attack looked devoid of creativity and the in game kicking looked as aimless as ever. As usual, I’ll give thanks that there is still beer and pies at the games and go along with zero expectation hoping to be surprised again.

Friday was a ray of hope for the Reds

Why would anyone want to invest in a venue with no useful public transport. The last time the Reds tried their stupid “Back to Ballymore” stunt, it was a debacle with some buses not even turning up. Ballymore might suit those that live close enough to walk along with their picnic blankets clutched under their arms to make sure they take up more than their fair share of the hill, but that’s about all.

Rugby AU eyeing off football alliance to redevelop Ballymore

So still the organisation formerly known as ARU continue to alienate most of the country. Apart from the Tahs supporters who have been well rewarded by their team not finishing clear last in the Australian super rugby conference and yet still getting the highest number of Wallabies caps and the Rebels supporters who have the charitable donations of most of the better players from the Force, I can’t see who is going to be happy about the progress of the sport this year. Regardless of who is how right about anything that transpired this year, it would be nice to start the year with a clean, fresh slate to get some positive rugby vibe. Unfortunately I can’t see a new NATIONAL board and a new NATIONAL coach happening soon enough.

RugbyWA goes into voluntary administration

The word embarrassment seems insufficient. He’s a disgrace and shouldn’t even be allowed to be orange peeler for a national team. My wallabies supporters jersey will remain in mothballs and my ticket buying money in my pocket until he is moved on.

Tui and Dempsey injured in Wallabies' win over Barbarians

Cooper will never wear a gold jersey while the clown is coaching. I was pleasantly surprised by Burke actually saying something positive about QC. Cooper didn’t seem to be getting his hands on the ball much in the first half and that yellow card that that never should have been given still shows that he hasn’t learnt to stay low. That kick though is the magic that Quade brings that no current gold jersey wearer does.

Tui and Dempsey injured in Wallabies' win over Barbarians

Such an inspiring captaincy choice. i thought the clown had been giving him the obligatory 5 minutes at the end of matches just to remind us he is in the team, but to now make him captain is just a reminder of how much comedy the clown is bringing to the Warabies. Any rugby between now and the next almost-super rugby tournament kick-off will continue to be treated as light entertainment/comedy.

Cheika mixes things up, names new captain in Wallabies team to play Barbarians

Send Foley and Hooper to the same learn-to-pass classes and see who wins? Attendance wouldn’t hurt either of them (or the rest of the team) regardless of any positional changes.

Hooper to halfback for Wallabies? What, the flanker?

I expect Cheika was really disappointed having to put a Reds player on the field for 5 minutes at the end of the test, so I expect Kerevi to be dropped from the squad entirely again. It’s hard to even consider who should be in the side when it isn’t picked on form or any other discernible rational basis.

Roar Forum: What changes should the Wallabies make for Argentina?

I’m not sure why the clown hasn’t just handed out the blue jersies instead of borrowing the gold ones. An unrepresentative side, not picked on form, coached by a clown, with a captain I have no respect for means I’ll probably watch the match because there isn’t any better options, but I can’t get passionate about it.

Wallabies name team to face South Africa: Cheika rings the changes for Springboks clash

Given players in Twiggys comp won’t be playing notquitesuper rugby, are they still eligible for wallaby selection? Even though the non-waratah players only have a slim chance of selection anyway, how much do they care?

The ARU seems to be poorly managing it’s conflicting responsibilities to the super rugby competition and the evil empire that funds it through broadcast money and their responsibilities to support and develop the game in this country. To me it seems they have abandoned one in favour of the other.
