The jackal was against fiji, the turnover leading to the loss was in the French game. The French did need to score again, so def not all on hoops, but possession, 9 points up and in their 22 with about a min left just showed he needs more time to learn 7s. Other guys were doing a great job of taking contact with support, hoops needed to pass and support.
Love Hoops, he got that one wrong, but he certainly needs another 10 games before really judging his quality in the 7s game.

'I was bloody nervous': Hooper stars on Aussie sevens debut, women on track in HK despite red card

This could work. We just need to get a scandalous tape out there of Travis so they break up, then….who would she date on the rebels team? Think she would go for a mullet man?

Legalising foul play, laneway bars and Molly Meldrum: Ten ways we can conquer Melbourne for rugby

Oh yeah, that was a tough 25 mins to watch.

Wallabies CONFIRMED: Gordon benched as Eddie banks on Ben Donaldson, star returns for do-or-die RWC clash

Hope we don’t have any injuries in the centres, I’m guessing Gordon covers 12 and 10? koroibete does have that 25 mins or so at 13 so can come in I suppose 😂
Hopefully the boys cut loose and attack. Good luck fellas!

Wallabies CONFIRMED: Gordon benched as Eddie banks on Ben Donaldson, star returns for do-or-die RWC clash

Don’t give him any ideas! If Eddie is reading this he might think “I wonder if any of my mates brought their kids over to watch the cup?”

Wallabies young gun's RWC over ahead of do-or-die Test, intrigue over replacement as Ikitau returns for BaaBaas

I was thinking this, its actually embarrassing. The only reason the other countries won’t care is because they don’t feel we are a threat……they might be right.

Not too sure there is much to learn. Get the ball close to their 22, kick aimlessly, rinse and repeat.
It would be nice to get someone in that can kick at goal to allow flexibility with the 15 again.

Well, one way to improve engagement is to go deep into an international knockout tournament like, oh I don’t know, a world cup. How many people watched Matildas games 2 years ago? Australians love a bandwagon.

I’m all for increasing grass roots funding, but Eddie could have blooded some new players and kept experienced ones around to help us this year, the two options weren’t mutually exclusive like he seems to be saying.

Also, there’s actually plenty of people that live here that follow rugby. They were just born across the ditch. And if they go through to the knockouts, you can probably add a whole bunch of Fijians as well who would have only followed 7’s before.

COMMENT: Eddie must be axed if he can't beat Wales - or the game will be in deep trouble in Australia

Did you miss the south Africa game this year? That was an awful game. This one wasn’t great, but at least there was a few moments we actually played some rugby.
Also happier to see the Fijians win, clearly means so much to them.

'Eddie got found out': Jones in spotlight as 'ferocious' Fiji leave Wallabies RWC hopes hanging by thread in 69 year first

Kerevi would have know they wanted to belt him. Just like they wanted to belt O’Connor, Hodge, Beale, Rodda, Pockock, Hooper, that guy who just came on but we don’t know his name, belt him….Fiji tends to not discriminate when handing out beltings.

Exclusive: Tongan Thor in doubt for Wallabies' entire RWC pool stage after training mishap, surprise Slipper role

Think it was a yellow wasn’t it? Great tackle and shouldn’t have been a card. I do apologise for letting facts get in the way of whatever point you were going for.

RWC News: 'Losing three biggest academies' - Eddie's truth bomb for ABs, Poms' 'horrendous' fear

it feels like Toomua needs a big rest and a super rugby team that will play well enough for him to build his confidence again. That tackle where he commits early and leaves the overlap was (as Harrison pointed out at half time) him trying to do too much himself. Maybe being told he is there to lead the backline is taking his focus off his own game?

VOTE: Your chance to rate the Wallabies players vs France

Is anything happening with Swinton? i know he is a bit prone to the occasional card, but i can’t imagine the french being as keen to loiter around the ruck with him around. It felt like Naisarani was a bit slow to the break down.

VOTE: Your chance to rate the Wallabies players vs France

White has a great box kick, but JOC didn’t seem to have great distance in the games I watched this year. Maybe if Hodge was in the lineup.

How will the Wallabies break down the blue wall?

are you referring to the grubber which was knocked on? or the cross field kick? I had another look at the cross field. yeah it didn’t connect, but the defense is way up and very little chance to pass. I much rather a kick going out than the good old days of a Foley intercept.

WILL GENIA: Why I'd opt for Noah and Tate, and loved Hunter's 'ballsy' play

Toomua has been below par most of the year. i wasn’t sure if it was just a by product of the team around him but he just isn’t in form. The injury very well may have something to do with it, he’s been one of my favorite players for a while. I think what was really telling was early on getting beaten in defense. Being a solid defender was a hallmark of his game, but he really struggled with the pace.

WILL GENIA: Why I'd opt for Noah and Tate, and loved Hunter's 'ballsy' play

In a series against an understrength French team i think getting Noah more experience would be the better option, as Will mentioned especially if JOC isn’t 100%. I would love to see Hunter come into 12, certainly has that little bit of playmaking in him and as you said Toomua was seriously missing (and out of form this year). Ikitau didn’t get on last night which is a shame, I think he has a bit more pace and Hunter seems to draw in defenders.
Hunters little grubber in behind was also a highlight!

WILL GENIA: Why I'd opt for Noah and Tate, and loved Hunter's 'ballsy' play

😂 id put money on him saying “i don’t believe its 30 minutes in, it feels like we just started but the pace of the game is just so fast” Keen on starting a petition to get the bloke axed, but i think they keep him on because he annoys people. gives everyone something to talk about during deadpan games.

he also has the proven ability to get sent off, suspended or just coast along for 78 minutes. granted he can be great, but is well overhyped. at club level he is great through the season, but with a three game series we can’t have someone who switches off so often.

The Roar’s State of Origin expert tips and predictions: Queensland Maroons vs NSW Blues, Game 1, 2021

are you know looking forward to Gus “seeing what he was thinking” and without him how will you know that “something is going to happen” because who else could “feel” that in sport, something at some time is going to happen.

The Roar’s State of Origin expert tips and predictions: Queensland Maroons vs NSW Blues, Game 1, 2021

Simmons has stepped up the last two games, but not being a ball carrier I am worried about our lack of punch with Hannigan in there as well.

Tupou promoted as Dave Rennie makes five changes to Wallabies team for Argentina clash

So we should lower our expectations, i get that. Maybe RA should try lowering the price of admission? whos going to fork out $150+ to be all but assured to cop stick from AB fans. I already get that for free at work thanks. Maybe if the tickets were more reasonable there would be a better atmosphere for both crowd and players and build a home field advantage, not to mention getting kids more involved in the experience of the sport. Covid capacity issues aside, i doubt the tickets would sell out if it was only Aussie supporters buyers.

The statistics that prove Australian rugby is not dead!

Im close to his biggest critic, but Simmons was probably the biggest stand out for me in game three. He made a couple of good solid tackles, great one handed lineout take. Still not a big fan but he has always been a better starter than finisher, he doesn’t make game changing impacts off the bench (excluding some silly pens) but can fill the role for 60+ minutes.

The quick questions: Redemption needed

Rob “strike weapon” Simmons shouldn’t have been in a super rugby team for the last few years. He does one good thing every 24 months for us, continuously strikes for the other team. Picking a player for one specialist attribute (lineout calls) and ignoring everything else (defense, ball running, not giving away stupid penalties when the ref is yelling at you) is the type of thinking that gave us Isi. Gordon didn’t get too much time, but I would personally rather McDermott as the 70 min sub.

What changes should the All Blacks and Wallabies make for Bledisloe 2?

“whereas Foley can barely pass 10m.”
A bit harsh, Foley can pass more than 10m. It just often floats into the wrong teams hands.
