What does that signify in a rugby context though?

'Didn't want to leave': The Aussie-raised star in World Cup final - and the 'vision' that led him to the All Blacks

We didn’t even have to wait for the Irish series to see those selections exposed. The Crusaders SR win on Eden Park activated the man overboard alarm.

“diluting the Fossie factor.”
That’s it in a nutshell for me, thanks Ken.

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

Did you place a bet on France winning?

RWC News: World Rugby's epic troll in semis ref call, legend snipes at 'bandwagon' Kiwi fans, Bok great roasts Poms

Billy, no such thing as a deliberate knock down. The term in the laws of the game is intentional knock on. Any player can intentionally slap or bat the ball in any direction except forward, which constitutes a knock on.
If the officials deem no knock on occurred then it’s play on.
The only similarity between Smith and Etzebeth is they were both defenders. Smith’s careless reflex action caused the knock on, penalty and when the officials took into account that the Irish were deep in attack and the intended receiver of the pass was unmarked, yellow. Hard luck All Blacks.
Etzebeth took a calculated risk and pulled it off by the slimmest of margins by not propelling the ball forwards. Great skill and daring from the big man and no comparison to Azzas clumsy effort.

But Funzie, everybody hates the English. There’s even a tv series made about it- by an Englander. Just show them the stiff upper lip, old bean.

Good, the Bad, the Eddie: Bok hails AB for 'best display I've ever seen', Kolbe confounds, 'classless' Rieko claim

McLeods avg points conceded against top tier opponents sat at about 22pts per Test so with SA, France & Ireland all exceeding that in recent weeks, it seems like a distinction without a difference, JD.

Not a bad wrap from you either, Decoy.
The way Mo’unga pinned JVdF then, at the precise moment the flanker made his decision and his left shoulder twitched to the outside, turned on the afterburners was sublime. The All Blacks didn’t even disguise the possibility of that particular play, Jordan had already jogged into the backline before the lineout throw. The lineout and delivery to Smith was crisp perfection as was the halfbacks pass. As good as it gets.

The Wrap: Why that was the All Blacks' greatest ever RWC win - but the road to fourth title is still a rough one

Smiley should be bottling the farms tap water and shipping it out to not just Australia but all Tier 2 nations.

WORLD VIEW: ABs pluck 'astonishing win from depth of their souls' while Irish face 'four more years of choking jokes'

I thought so too but once it became about a potential yc, that was history.
Must admit I was enjoying the match so much that I didn’t let that sort of stuff bother me.

37 phases and OUT! Whitelock the hero as All Blacks win epic RWC QF to break Ireland's hearts again

Let’s just try a combined currency first and if that goes ok we’ll get on to important stuff like Rugby.

I remember the Whitelock penalty you’re referring to. I’ve maintained that the breakdown is Wayne-o’s weakest area and that was a poor decision.

If that pass had found the man then it was panic stations. But I don’t think Smith had time to work that out, pure reflex action.
But both Wayne-o and TMO were in agreement that it prevented a clean break into the red zone, hence yellow. No complaint from me.

Mark Telea might have been the missing piece, he does seem to have the knack of getting good position under contestable kicks and recovering the pill.
Looking back at the depth of some kicks, they often nullified the classic leaping catch so reduced the risk of penalty/cards. Some ball was recovered but I agree, possession wasted at times.

Stu, any Aussie rugby players can come across the ditch, sample the waters and stay awhile. Hell, they can even go on the dole if they need to.

Reiko knows how to tackle, he just struggles with working out who to tackle and by the time he does it’s sometimes too late.
I thought it was good of ALB to come out and show him how a proper centre does it.

Fair enough Moa. Fossie has every right to enjoy the most complete team performance of his tenure.

” I bet you won’t hear boo from AB supporters whinging about Barnes today.”
Really? Then you’ve never met my old man. We share the same surname as Wayne-o and by fulltime the old boy was talking about filling out a deedpoll and changing to his mum’s maiden name.

Haha, good post and you made me think of the Tex, Don & Charlie song- Harry Was A Bad Bugger.

Azzas 10 in the naughty chair straddled halftime so 25-30mins rest probably meant no ranga required.

Let them lick their wounds as they see fit. Another failure to get past the QF must be doing their heads in.
It will be interesting to see how their post WC regeneration progresses.

Fine effort from the 4 relatively inexperienced AB props.
Newell and Williams only 23, Grooter 25 and Old Man Lomax 27.
If everything goes to plan, they should be a formidable unit by the next WC.

37 phases and OUT! Whitelock the hero as All Blacks win epic RWC QF to break Ireland's hearts again

Fair call. I thought BB’s experience came to the fore and he neither under/overplayed his hand.
Sam Cane has copped a fair bit too and was immense.

Is it kicking out of defence they’re looking at?
Ireland are such a complete side, do the reduced margins for error mean erring on the side of stats and caution. Maybe Christie gets more metres from the boot and provides better contestable kicks.
It’s a shame, would liked to have seen Roigard taking on the Irish pillar defenders. He’s been dangerous off clean and scruffy ball alike.
Haven’t been this hyped about an All Black game since the 2015 semi and did that ever deliver.
