We don’t have any.

Maybe…
Sebit Kuek
Conrad Williams
Corey Wagner (ex-Melbourne)
Odin Jones
Oscar McDonald (ex-Melbourne)
Max Knobel (but he’ll be terrific)

But that doesn’t mean much. They don’t get games.

Forget Cripps, Curnow and Walsh - the unsung Blues heroes driving Carlton's premiership push

Extra time is a silly idea. It’s why we have premiership ladders where points are in even numbers so, when it’s a draw, you halve it. They are so rare in Aussie Rules that it’s exciting when we have it. It also adds an extra permutation to the ladder beyond points and percentages.
Never let the example of less complex, less engaging games (soccer, basketball) ever be used as a reason for Oz Rules to follow suit. The draw adds texture and richness.

We did.

But Cottrell outplayed no one. It certainly is not a game to single him out for praise.. as you did.

Yeah, I’m asking the question. He looked like being a next-gen star until his big injury break. Will he get back to that?

Footy Fix: The best Anzac Day classic since the first one confirms the Pies are back... and the Bombers are for real

Unless, Roger, Alex Pearce is playing on one of them.

You’ll work it out…but…perhaps you’re over-thinking it. Let it go if it troubles you. I just see each mention of that game as an opportunity to keep it in the forefront of everyone’s mind. The fact that game is used to praise Carlton or to denigrate Freo is an indication as to why I choose to remind folk who have forgotten…especially those who write articles about footy.

That’s clever.

Especially since there is no option to tip the draw. (I was going to do that.)

A non-reason for tipping teams; “(Insert team name) needs to win.”

Freo’s fringe players are all stars.

I was with you, Dem, until you got to Matt Cottrell’s “match winning” efforts. He got two goals, both from umpire error. The first a confusing decision where the ump pointed the wrong way, everyone stopped and he then played on 30 metres downfield with an erroneous “advantage” call. The second was THAT arranged result with the triple-touched mark.

He’s terrific but his efforts in that game have to be credited to the whistle, not Cottrell.

Will Nic Cox get there? He hasn’t pressed any buttons since he’s been back.

I was going to qualify that. Tabs has been relegated to depth. If he could get his back right he’d be good for lots of clubs but Freo now has a big 3 there for the next decade with Voss and future draftees for depth.

Hughes is good for clubs that need some good, steady footballers but are at their limit. He’d be good for clubs at the bottom for the last 5 years of his career; Richmond, Hawthorn…

Brodie just needs to be set free to play AFL because he’s very good. He’d be welcome back as soon as we change coaches because it looks like he’s never getting a game under JLo. Mind you, he can’t fit into our midfield.

Matt Taberner, Will Brodie and Ethan Hughes look like being up for grabs.

Negligible. Even Ethan Hughes can deal with him…but Chappy will be back!

Lewis? Huh?

With their defence and a trade steal firing, the Cats lead the ladder. The next three weeks will tell us if they really deserve to

I don’t doubt it. I’m looking forward to Sam Darcy vs Josh Draper, the more lokely match up. Josh should have had a Rising Star nomination by now.

You struggle with nuance, don’t you? Look up irony. Then look up farce; that applies to your atrempt to match intellect.

I hope Sam doesn’t break.

They play way different to when Bryan Cousins and Gary Malarkey were there. Even the Brian Peake days.

I know…it’s been used tebs of thousands of times…or more.

Sven hopes no one noticed.
