It wouldn’t matter if you had both Gary’s in the current side not even they could carry the number of old age pensioners they have on the list at present.

The appointment of Brian Cook is a big positive for the Blues and lets face it they desperately need some good news at the moment. As a result of Cook coming in I believe that they will now have a real earnest attempt at getting Scott out of Geelong to become their Coach, what’s more I similarly believe that that is a realistic possibility despite him still having another year on his contract.

Too many older players who lack the enthusiasm and desire of youth, you can’t buy premierships. The Club needs a new direction and to embark on a youth policy which may well include a new Coach despite his excellent home and away record.

He hasn’t gone anywhere yet and in fact has intimated to the Coach and the Club that he may not do so in the immediate future. Should he decide to go I can see a situation whereby the Lions could benefit in a big way.

Perfectly reasonable request from Neale given the circumstances and I’m prepared to bet that it will eventuate, Let’s face it AFL contracts to a large degree aren’t worth the paper they’re written on and get broken/renegotiated on a regular basis.

The obvious solution was to let Teague complete his contract and in the meantime work towards getting Clarkson for 2023. As for Sayers, hate to say it but I think Carlton might have an egotistical DUD on their hands.

Perhaps the club would be better off by first finding a President that includes all of those appointed to find the new Coach and not make decisions on his own.

Maybe the new President of the Carlton FC is perhaps a boy on a man’s errand. Given his involvement thus far in the process of finding a new Coach it would suggest that he has a lot to learn about running an AFL Club.

If he Cat’s had the necessary momentum earlier in the game they wouldn’t have to rely on player kicking accurately for goal in the closing moments of the game. Agree with PeteB, it is a ridiculous headline. That aside, if the player in question or his Manager have any nous at all he’ll be at another Club next year where he will get better opportunities. If he was at at least 15 of the other Clubs he would get a regular game.

I cannot see Clarkson at Collingwood next year, in fact I will be surprised if he is at any club next year, I think he might take the year off to recharge the battery. Should that eventuate it will be very interesting to see what both Collingwood and Carlton do in relation to appointing new coaches particularly if Clarko indicates he intends returning in 2023.

If the Soccer in general didn’t have so many shady/crooked types involved, as in FIFA etc., it would undoubtedly be better for all concerned, particularly those involved at the junior/development levels.
