The Sea Eagles' road trip from hell; ‘Baby’ Burton spears the Sharks

Not sure if you can equate your unnamed local club footy awards with the dally m, you know the award they give to the best in the game that season. I think you’ve genuinely got to be pretty good to win one. I’m not saying Hayne has much to offer the dragons my point is, is it really worth letting one player ceasing you from watching your team. If it were me I would probably still watch them while still being critical of Hayne.

If Matt Dufty is the future, then why is Jarryd Hayne the answer?

The dragons are lucky to have you on board, I salute you. Two time dally m medal winner Hayne is indeed a never was.
Say theoretically they sign Hayne and then have a good year make the grand final will you watch then or stick to your principles?

If Matt Dufty is the future, then why is Jarryd Hayne the answer?

12,837 average but your point still stands. They’ve ranged between 11 to 13 thousand last few seasons. A lot of their big crowds come when there is plenty of away supporters.

No more excuses for the Gold Coast Titans

I feel you got to think about how to get everyone on board one Sydney team rather. The nrl will never be a representative league because that doesn’t exist And for good reason. Sydney already has an ingrained tribalism to it. If you were to start a comp from scratch you’d probably still have at least 4 clubs in this city not one.
There is a reason city country got canned. People stopped caring about it so it’s a bad example to use.

It would be hard enough dealing with the fallout of one club being culled let alone 8.

There are too many teams in Sydney. All but one must be culled

This has got to be one of the most insane ideas. A few questions:
This 1 Sydney team where is it based?
What is it going to be called?
How would you go about doing this without losing tens of thousands of nrl supporters?
Where will they play?
Now that’s just the team.
The whole selection for your city state thing has no place in the nrl, that’s for representation for soo or internationals. If you’re a talented halfback from Canberra why should you be restricted to playing for one team your whole career especially if you’re offered more in Brisbane.

There are too many teams in Sydney. All but one must be culled

As a warriors supporter I had little problem with the calls yesterday. We had already been warned of committing too many penalties and then Blair does his typical late no arms tackle on a smaller player, I wish he would get that out of his game, it’s not a brave play at all. Thought the reffing yesterday was really good, line speed was good and while you could say the raiders looked the better side for a lot of the match, they still lost that last fifteen minutes where we were on top. Stickys also sooking about our first field goal when times blown on.

Warriors fans have reason to be cautiously excited

League pioneer's dream: To live to the next World Cup

I can imagine nz and png were good. England apparently had good ratings considering its been on in the morning. Don’t know about other places. But I guess that doesn’t matter to someone like you who feels the need to make consistent negative comments on a sport you hate. I hope it’s fulfilling.

The World Cup has been a joy so far – with a few notable exceptions

https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4675711
A myth, it was called the World Series because America believed it was the world at the time. We’ve been calling it a World Cup since 54, and we’re not about to change.

Rebrand the Rugby League World Cup – and ditch the Kangaroos

You’re lying cheapest tickets are still 45 for adults. Why do you feel the need to spread this misinformation? What do you and clipper get out of it?

Australia and England locked in battle for Group A supremacy

Souths were reinstated in 2002 not 2003, they had two years not three out of competition.
St George won from 1956-66 not 1856.
They Steelers are actually the Cutters.
As for Wests tigers the reality could be no Balmain or Western Suburbs identity at all, and with the ownership structure as 75% Wests, Balmain should consider themselves lucky they have the kind of representation they do.

Wests Tigers shouldn't be in the NRL

I agree that it would be great for football to seek out their own stadium, it means the sport/socceroos could have yearly access to a pristine pitch, a centralised precinct and they could also start to pay it off when other sports/ concerts rent it out. there is however no chance the tax payer would pay for a stadium just for football/owned by the FFA.

A good result - but for god’s sake, sort out the playing surface

Who is this stealer and why does he/she/bot need to repeat the same thing 100 times a day. As a sport lover/league hater they sure spend a lot of their time discussing it.

RLIF confirms 2018 Emerging Nations World Cup

That’s great it’s going, being an emerging nations cup this should mean a lot of residents will take part. I think Canada will be hard to beat.

As a fellow Warriors supporter I feel your pain yet I will never give up on this team. What I’ve noticed this year is that while goal line defence is slightly better (not that much better), the forward pack appear to have had any creativity coached out of them. What’s happened to our offloading game, forwards like Lisone and Vete taking on the line for a short pass. All the players seem to be standing around in attack as if waiting for their turn rather than following the play and looking for opportunities. Luke needs to improve, Hingano is not first grade standard (yet) and Lolohea looks like he’s lost all his confidence. Our attack against the Dogs on Friday was predictable, slow and easy to defend (although the Canterbury defended well).
I do have faith that this will change when Sheck and Foran are in but I won’t hold my breath.

Fans' faith fading fast in flippant, frustrating Warriors

I guess you’re right, it just angers me that a player illegally puts another player out for a month and the incident is hardly looked at.
It just sickens me that a player would go deliberately out of their way to sideline another.

Footy's back: Inconsistency, punching aplenty, and what about compulsory headgear?

Interesting Russell Packer escapes any sort of sanction from the weekend. Hiku’s got a broken eye socket from what looks like at the very least a careless swinging fist. You’d think the NRL would look more into the actions of a player who did time not too long ago for a grievous assault (on a friend of Hiku’s as it turns out). I can’t believe he’s escaped suspension when Taupau and Blake have copped two matches for (blatant) shoulder charges on the body.

Footy's back: Inconsistency, punching aplenty, and what about compulsory headgear?

Well the last five years the NRL has started on the first week/weekend of march, so it’s not particularly early this year, the AFL play less rounds.

The NRL is back. Finally, something to talk about

I could cop that

The NRL is back. Finally, something to talk about

Who Knows all the pressure is on the men in black and as we have seen in the past, we don’t deal with pressure and expectation well. We were riding high until we came up against a rabbitohs side we were expected to trounce at home, we were summarily flogged.

The Roar's NRL expert tips and predictions: Round 1

As usual statistics only tell half the story, If you actually watch the games you’ll notice many differences between the Tiger cubs and JT/Maloney.
1. is of course the defensive structures around them, clearly not as good at the Tigers
2. Is what their missed tackles mean, From what i’ve seen is most of the time if JT and Maloney are bumped off the player usually does not gain much more, before being brought down by other players including the halves who got bumped.
With the Tigers I’ve noticed their misses can be devastating whether it leads to a linebreak, try or putting the Tigers on the back foot.
3. Last we have misreads which often don’t count as missed tackles because a player doesn’t get a hand to them, in fact there is no negative stat given to the player although watching live you know they done screwed up. If you watch the last game against the Raiders in particular Moses made complete misreads and the player he was marking goes right through. JT and Maloney rarely make misreads.

Thank heavens the footy is back! Here's how your side is looking

“We all know the NRL is rigged, and in 2019, on the 30th anniversary of the 1989 grand final, the Raiders and Tigers will meet again.”- with the exception of the Warriors, I wouldn’t be against this.

The NRL is back. Finally, something to talk about

You do have a point Vincent, we have however played only two home games to start the season in that time. I don’t deny that we have a big hoodoo with opening the season however. It appears the NRL have thrown us a bone for us to break our duck, a home game against the Knights. Nothing is ever certain with the Warriors and I am more anxious about this game than any other season opener we’ve had.
