The Springboks speak Afrikaans on the field

England react with fury as Bok cleared by World Rugby after TWO racism allegations made by Tom Curry

You’ve got the sequence wrong. The words were shouted to teammates once Bongi was up and the ball was kicked out just after. The call was to alert teammates to the danger on the wide side

England react with fury as Bok cleared by World Rugby after TWO racism allegations made by Tom Curry

I’ve seen lots of ‘apparentlies’ regardingthis saga, including that WR are investigating an incident from the November test brought forward by the England barristers (don’t ask, no idea, doesn’t make sense to me either).

What the clip does show is that ‘kant’ in various forms is used repeatedly by the Boks in their on-field communications

More specifically he appears to be saying ‘Wyd kant’, which means ‘wide side’

There’s a video doing the rounds of Bongi shouting exactly that at a breakdown involving Curry, where England is on penalty advantage, whereafter England do send the ball wide with a cross kick.

While I get that victims should be believed, you also have to factor there’s a massive language and culture barrier between SA and England, so any presumptions are, well, presumptive

Bit of an Anglo-centric view there????

The evidence shows that’s exactly what Bongi was saying

Have you seen the footage? Bongi is repeatedly shouting ‘Wit Kant’ or ‘Wyd Kant’, which is clearly meant for his teammates to react to. I find it hard to believe Curry though it was directed at him, and, in context of the general cynical, spoiling play by England, would not be surprised if this were a deliberate ploy by him to gain an edge. Curry is the racist 1 here as well as all those jumping on the bandwagon with their Anglo-centric views

I literally fell asleep during the NZ vs Arg game. Nobody who cared about the result could look away from the SA vs Eng game, even for a second. Just look at the videos doing the rounds of SA fans during and after that game. Children crying with relief. There was real jeopardy

Five things: World Cup final represents good and evil as All Blacks and Springboks face off

In rugby, every moment exept a penalty is a contest, that’s what makes it unique

Knee on the ground by the England loosehead, twice. That’s what happened before anything else in the scrum, and, that’s what the ref called the penalty for

With did the Argies leave Super Rugby?

Springboks make nine changes for Argentina as world champs aim to 'peak at right time'

That would mean Boks are currently top of the table

Boks show steel to survive late scare as bonus point puts them in pole position for TRC crown

Fair enough

SA View: 'Bottle that anger and intensity' - Etzebeth's 'face of fury' in brutal Boks response shows path to RWC glory

With the punch-ups you guys seem to love in NRL, it’s weird you would have an issue with the off-the-ball aggression ????

Both teams were on a warning for the ‘niggle’. ‘The Makazola Mapimpi niggle, that Koroibete did not react to’??? Koroibete gripped Mapimpi’s jersey and would not let get go, which caused the other players to run in. If Koroibete did not react, nothing would have happened. Fair enough that Mapimpi was carded as his was the first action, but watch it at full speed – Mapimpi’s actions were another nothing moment that a meal was made from.

I also thought that penalty reversal was a bit of a nothing moment. TMO seemed determined to scrutinize a few ‘meh’ moments – if there’s nothing obvious wrong TMO should stay out. It’s confusing, as according to Nigel Owens the Koroibete tackle on Mapimpi last week should have been reviewed, but WR directed that TMOs do an ‘on the fly’ review to speed up the game. Why focus on nothing moments, then brush over big moments that deserve a bit a scrutiny? Not saying last week was a foul, but it makes more sense to review a moment like that than some of the seemingly innocuous stuff of last night.

AUS vs SA studs and duds: Coach or cattle behind Wallabies' troubling 'psyche' flaw, and what's up with Giteau Law pick?

According to Nigel Owen’s if Faf knocks the ball backwards it’s play on

SA View: 'Should be banished to the bush leagues' - 'Criminally incompetent' ref torched, White's dive 'absolute disgrace'

Yes, hence everybody’s indignation at him feigning a head injury. Much like my indignation at White feigning an injury – it looked like he was almost clutching at his throat. Does anyone actually believe White was injured and could do nothing but collapse in a heap as a result, or, are we all in agreement he was feigning injury?

SA View: 'Should be banished to the bush leagues' - 'Criminally incompetent' ref torched, White's dive 'absolute disgrace'

I’m pretty sure that incident plays out many times a game without being looked at. The only reason it got attention was Whites simulation

SA View: 'Should be banished to the bush leagues' - 'Criminally incompetent' ref torched, White's dive 'absolute disgrace'

So no thoughts until the play acting? To my mind the difference is Koroimbete used real force so Anthony Jelonch may have been hurt, White was weak and its a horrible look for rugby. The Wallaby fans were initially just disgusted at Anthony Jelonch’s play acting, supporting White now is hypocritical

SA View: 'Should be banished to the bush leagues' - 'Criminally incompetent' ref torched, White's dive 'absolute disgrace'

Did you applaud Anthony Jelonch too for drawing attention to Koroibete’s thuggish behavior? As I recall Rennie was livid and very public in his condemnation of Anthony Jelonch’s play acting, which wasn’t even close to White’s pathetic display

SA View: 'Should be banished to the bush leagues' - 'Criminally incompetent' ref torched, White's dive 'absolute disgrace'

No, that’s not my point at all. My point is that if SRP ran with a scrum clock and the rest of the world did not, when they play each without a scrum clock… my gut feel is there would be a difference. Be interesting to see it play out, maybe there will be no discernable difference, but I would be surprised.

Do you think that if SRP had a scrum clock, then your teams played the rest of the world with no scrum clock, that there would be no effect?

Good luck playing against the rest of the world once you’ve been playing with a devalued scrum for a bit…
