Kayo Stadium is not too shabby. only 5 years old the last section. It’s not a huge stadium but it’s pretty decent for a suburban ground….

NRL Finals week 1 preview talking points: Capacity controversy, everyone’s the underdog … It’s finals time!

One of the great all time sledges gone wrong.

Willie Mason yelling out “we’re going to the grand final boys” as they ran up the tunnel at halftime in 2006.

Of history and hope: Finals underdogs can win against the odds judging by past playoff boilovers

“no amount of money can compensate for a breach of your basic human rights and safety”

Except for racing drivers, bodyguards, police, deep sea divers, fighter pilots etc who all exchange money in varying amounts in exchange for giving up personal safety.

Trying to equate someone earning more than half the population will earn in a lifetime as getting their “human rights” violated is honestly laughable. That’s what you give up in FREE EXCHANGE for the boatload of money.

The relentless push for 'professionalism' is putting AFL players at risk

Please spare me. The $406,000 puts you in the top 1% of income earners. And getting up there into the top .1% if you go much higher.
Show me anyone who earns that who has great work life balance at the peak of their career? A dentist who has racked up a huge hecs debt and missed earning all the time they are at Uni doesn’t make that much. Guys that spend half their life down a mine away from their families don’t that much.
This is a career CHOICE, if they don’t like it go and play in the WAFL or where ever and work where you want, plenty of life balance in most jobs.

No, a pass is a pass if it bounces. You are completely wrong. No one is confused, you just don’t know the rules.

In touch football I don’t think you can bounce it.
Neither in Gridiron.
Netball you can bounce it.

Fans should get a refund: Refereeing de-Klein shows how far NRL's gone backwards since golden age of officials

Gutho throws it backwards, Moses toes it through and scores. It’s a try without even a shadow of a doubt. Round 21 I think.

Fans should get a refund: Refereeing de-Klein shows how far NRL's gone backwards since golden age of officials

This had me wondering what you were talking about so I went and watched the highlights.

This has been a try every day since 1908. The passer threw the ball backwards, another player kicked it through. Happens every few matches.

What I can’t understand is the brain fade you are having, surely you have been watching long enough to have seen this many many times.
One famous incident is in SOO around 2000 where John Doyle got a pass into the legs and kneed it through and was a try.

What about the prodigal son Sean McMahon?

'Roam, hit, run': The bouncer Eddie must find in the Wallabies' most open position

You know they got Churchill back again when they decided his replacement wasn’t up to scratch…

NRL Magic Round preview talking points: Who’s excited to watch some wagering content?

How did you come up with 2%?

100,000 / 25 mil is .4% of the Australian population in Nz and

600,000 / 5mil is 12% of the NZ population living in Oz

RA chief's radical draft plan to revive Super Rugby, including Wallabies free to play for NZ clubs

Tasmania’s population is paltry, and it’s income is even more paltry. It is just a handout to sports fans, why not just admit it for what it is. The AFL has every right to pay for their own stadium, the days of professional sport getting massive handouts so the players can live like millionaires are hopefully coming to an end.

Do Tasmanians really want a brand new stadium?

Actually it’s worse than that. If they don’t cut housing funding or whatever else, to build the stadium they are borrowing at increasing interest rates to fund it. Payable back by our grandchildren.
You seem to believe in a magic money tree where you can just spend with no consequences…

Do Tasmanians really want a brand new stadium?

Well in Union they’ll take more in the same situation as the reward is higher. I quite like a field goal too, it’s skillful.

Why union-style bonus points for Pre-Season Challenge might be NRL's silliest idea yet

Ah no, they take the field goal because of the higher probability of points, but there is nothing stopping a team going for a touchdown on the 4th down.

Locker second most tries? I thought he was the top Kangaroo tryscorer?

25 in 25: Best Kangaroos player of NRL era - Lockyer, Slater, Smith, Joey, Inglis?

No, it doesn’t need to be closed, stop trying to wring every bit of joy out of very rare instances.

Michael Neser's extraordinary BBL catch exposed farcical loophole in cricket's rules that must be closed

I’m not sure if this is the silliest or most most brilliant comment of the day.

What stops this?
Hmm maybe the fact there is only 9 fielders. If a captains wants to put a few in the crowd to juggle catches back to the field then good luck to him.

You just missed the brilliant reference! Unless of course you didn’t and are just grumpy lol

Jackson Hastings, Brodie Croft & 'the team of misfits’: How one Super League club is creating real-life rugby league Moneyball

Yes, as a rusted on Rugby fan for almost 50 years I’ve never watched an adult match. eye roll. Sigh, watching the Nudgee firsts go round doesn’t preclude me watching or having watched or played other Rugby.

REACTION: 'Disgraceful!': Wallabies stunned as ref 'cracks under pressure,' hands Bledisloe Cup to All Blacks

I go and watch the 1st XV at the school up the road play a few times a year, vastly more enjoyable.

REACTION: 'Disgraceful!': Wallabies stunned as ref 'cracks under pressure,' hands Bledisloe Cup to All Blacks

And that’s the reason rusted on Rugby fans since near infancy like me bother tuning in for fewer and fewer games each season. I wasted a perfectly good trivia night to watch that rubbish, I suppose it serves me right for thinking things would be different this time.

Hi Tony, your Meninga section appears wrong. Too few games and too many tries? It’s not the same number games as Inglis and not 4 times fewer tries as mentioned in the Inglis section.
