You are apologising to the “leagues”.. not sure what that is …I’m only a dumb rugby league supporter who can’t compete intellectually with my superior union brothers…. union fans smugness is astonishing….I watched Australia vs argentina the other day…10 penalty goals… what a game.

Is league's popularity harming rugby development?

Every time the game starts and Warren Smith is commentating the mute button is pushed and music comes on…can’t stand him….commentate don’t opinionate… he will rave on the rest of the game about something that happened that in his opinion was wrong …is too focused on trying to make a memorable quote than just calling the game.

The perfect Skivvy blindside to a television makeover

I thought it was good…and someone even got a new moniker just to criticize it…that is funny.

Crackling and Spanks: Why the long face?

Unfortunately for dufty his size limits his defense capabilities….even when he brings a kick back you know they just going to ragdoll him and push him back ….it was even a tactic to give it to Nene or nighty as soon as dufty catches the ball…to limit him getting pushed back… seen flashes of brilliance in his attack but the game is 50% defense and you can’t hide someone in first grade.

If Matt Dufty is the future, then why is Jarryd Hayne the answer?

It was mal who took the pass…et put in the kick for Lyons to score the greatest ever try.

The spirit of cricket - celebrating the noble failure

It sure was….also the Aussies scored probably the greatest try in test history …I’m blessed to have seen that famous test live….I was standing around talking to mark Sargent that night and he wanted to kill Bob Fulton because this was his first test…he was reserve but Fulton didn’t give him a run…no reserves got a run… imagine that these days….all 13 players playing 80 minutes.

I’m same vintage as you Peter…just celebrated my 50th a few months ago…I remember this day as well… sitting at my grandparents place in Old Bar for the traditional Christmas holiday watching the cricket… your memory is much better than mine I can’t remember Norman Cowans at all…the other names are very familiar….I feel privileged to see all those great moments over the years…. always loved sport….I went on the 90 and 94 kangaroo tours…. great memories…I was in the corner on the fence for the 2nd test at old Trafford that we scored the winning try to keep us in the series…. even got to mix with Aussie players after the game at the Ramada where they were staying and the pub across the street.

The spirit of cricket - celebrating the noble failure

Why all the doom and gloom…For the past 30 years all I’ve heard from union supporters is how much of a strong international game it is….we ranked in the top ten and we are going crap….that’s pretty good….even if we keep losing I still think we can beat Georgia who are 13th in the world rankings so I can’t see us slipping too much further.

Seven talking points from Wallabies v Wales

Why do so many people watch soccer….it bores me to tears…. ditto basketball…. But both games draw great crowds….this is very much a rugby union website so the other posters will have a hundred reasons why they think union is so great. …if you love league you find it hard to comprehend that union fans could put up with the ball only being in play for 25-30 minutes of an 80 minute game….it’s frantic and unpredictable when it happens but can so easily be ruined by pedantic refs… union fans tend to have a slightly superior attitude as well and will look down on league ….in Australia union is on a slippery slope downhill so we can only learn from great Britain union….it’s very minor in continental Europe as anyone who has travelled through Europe will attest to….it’s soccer first… daylight second.

What can rugby league learn from rugby union?

I do believe that when the kiwis won the RL world cup in 2008 that half the kiwi team was born in oz….most of the current kiwi players would probably have gone through the oz systems as well…has the current kiwi captain ever played league in NZ?…I would suggest the same is true for the current Tongan team that is doing so well… mostly oz taught…in comparison how many Australian union players spent most of their life in NZ?

Rugby union is in strife – league is here to help

I’m 50 years old, went to the UK to watch two kangaroo tours in 90 and 94….and I think inglis is the best attacking player I have ever seen but he’s only playing at 60% of his peak years….no way was he the seventh best player this year…his defense is awesome but his attack is a shadow of his former years…

The top 50 NRL players of 2018: 10-1

Seriously who writes this crap….it wasn’t a penalty try….it was an 8 point try… unbelievable.

Tongans blow up at harsh call that gave Kangaroos opportunity for 8-point try

It seemed like the kiwis had a lot more possession than the Aussies..give Australia that much ball and I reckon we win…. by a lot more than 2…. the most frustrating thing is when we got behind by 14 we threw the ball around and looked really dangerous…why not do that all the time?

Kiwis pip Kangaroos 26-24 in Test thriller

Keary been there before and not got it done?…I was at 2014 GF and thought rabbitohs won… must have been a dream.

Was Cooper Cronk's back-to-back brilliance really that good?

Where were those games played….qld at home are almost unbeatable and even with nsw dismal record in last 12 years their winning percentage at home is still ok… did I join the dots?

Was Cooper Cronk's back-to-back brilliance really that good?

Rugby has to be the most frustrating game to watch….I haven’t watched much since I played for my local team in the early 90s….I just got so annoyed with the last minute penalty goals to win games…you know it’s bad when the commentators say …oh they are in penalty goal range now….FFS… that can’t be what the game should be about….read the comments section to any rugby article…100 comments about team selection..he should be 13…he should be 8 …he’s not up to standard…. just pick the best bloody goalkicker in Australia would be my advice.

Hair today, gone tomorrow

Holy crap….I agree almost totally with you.
As for everyone hailing the coaching Messiah of Robinson….go to Newcastle or gold coast and win a title and I will be convinced…first year coaching he got SBW and Jennings to an already strong roster… this year he got tedesco and Cronk…. what a guru.

Was Cooper Cronk's back-to-back brilliance really that good?

Surely you are joking…khabib reaction of jumping at the coach and not landing anything was worse than a flying luggage trolley that sent shattered glass everywhere, injuring multiple people….I suspect you are a big McGregor fan.

Nurmagomedov versus McGregor: The downside of a UFC blood feud

I stopped watching when Beau Ryan came on to show….his love for himself was unbearable to watch.

Mundine-Horn is dangerous and grotesque, and a few other things

They don’t wear headgear in Olympic men’s boxing anymore.

You should be more outraged over horse racing. How many jockeys are injured and die around the world for the sole purpose of gambling.

Mundine-Horn is dangerous and grotesque, and a few other things

Success is winning grand finals… manly have won two in the last 21 years…that’s one more than the tigers….losing gf’s hurt more than not making semis….I don’t follow manly so I don’t know how many minor premierships they have claimed in last 20 years but I reckon roosters would have you covered and have won 2 of the last 6 comps….and I haven’t said anything about the storm who have got manly covered as well…so I’m questioning your ” most successful team in last 15 years ” call.

How Manly hit Eagle rock bottom

What a pointless article…the dragons have a half back who can play hooker as well…they also have an excellent hooker that can’t play half back….I wonder what they will do..

Ben Hunt considering permanent hooking move

I haven’t watched much rugby since the mid nineties when I played for my local team….it’s too frustrating and I was smashing too many remote controls.
IMO we have always played the wrong style… trying to be attacking…we should be getting the best goalkicker in the country and putting him in the side no matter what… rugby is about penalties whether we like it or not…we scored 6 tries to 3 in series against Ireland… good for us…we lost…2 tries each against RSA the other night… still lost easily… except against the AB we rarely get get outscored try wise… but we rarely win.

Progress starts by fixing things that have fallen off along the way

Mate… don’t worry about someone’s personal interpretation of your comment….no one is implying roosters didn’t deserve the win…you think they would enjoy the win but some people need something to whinge about ….his bum is sore… that’s why he is complaining.
