Nonsense comment from someone that has never been in south America during Olympics and dont kwon how little we care for Olympic football.

Brazil has played qualifying without any player from Serie A and did not qualify. No one gave a s**.

Olympics will be largely watched because it’s time to watch different sports -it always was, well before professional footballers being allowed in Olympics.
That’s the only time Volley becomes bigger then football in Brazil and Rebeca Andrade becomes bigger than Vinny Jr.

It's time the APL came clean on the state of the game in the A-Leagues

Stopped reading at “magic round”.

Does the A-League have the clout to make a UK-bound event round work in season 2024/25?

Great read. This should be in newspapers. First Abdysh-Ata Kant analysis I have found.

I believe CCM can go all the way. Their turn around since Peil took control has been amazing.

With A-League finals on the horizon, Central Coast must travel half a world away to begin it's dream of AFC Cup final spot

If I had started reading The Roar before starting watching A-League, I think I would never watch it.
You guys know how to depreciate your game.
It indeed has 100+ things to be fixed. Nevertheless, what happens inside the pitch should be a bit more talked about.
CMM x Wellington was the greatest game of the season: the two top teams playing for the prime position with a last gasp goal that may have changed the season premier. But it was not talked about. Problems have attracted much more attention and comments.
If you ask why I don’t write those post, that’s because I am illiterate and I can only write short sentences. True
Ps. SS has, IMO, written the best articles around. Good on him.

Forget those bringing down the game, what if we embraced the A-League and Australian football cups are actually half-full?

Picking players from clubs that are in dispute of something is always unfair.
It is like being penalized for developing well your player.
In many countries clubs are not bound to release their players for U-23 squads.
If that is important to Australia, why not stop A-league for 3 weeks?
We have one of the longest off-season in world. No problem playing GF in June.

A-League clubs air grievances after Nestory Irankunda's shock snubbing of Olyroos duty

Thing is that is not qualifier properly.
It is the AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024. which is going to award the 3 best positioned team a place in the Olympics.

Irankunda sensationally turns down Olyroos spot in baffling update - and Vidmar left in lurch on eve of qualifying

Among things A-League urge to do in order to grow its reputation is to stop picking players from clubs in the decisive moments of the championship.

Two years ago MCity played the grand final without its main players cause they were serving the national team.
Now many clubs are going to play their chances to make finals, and CCM their chances of premiership and AFC cup, without their players.

It’s like a negative award for those that develop their players well .

A-league has one of the longest off season in world. There is plenty of time. Why not stop ALeague for national team to play? Why not leave olympics for amateurs and juniors as it is supposed to be. Who cares about olympic football anyway?

Irankunda sensationally turns down Olyroos spot in baffling update - and Vidmar left in lurch on eve of qualifying

CCM brazilian scout is better than Sydney’s.
I wonder who is this guy that found Tulio and Doka at good cost.
A transit cone would be a good replacement for Gomes.

Mariners close in on premiership, derby delight for Victory, Irankunda omitted from Olyroos

forget it

The improvements needed to bring the A-Leagues back to prominence

All creditors of PG were at same class, so the amount obtained would be split according to their share in total debts.
Main creditors were: Sage (around 30 millions) and Aleague (around 4 million).
So, Sage would get almost 90% of the amount obtained.

'Would be a tragedy': Can the Jets find a new owner, or are they about to spiral out of the A-League?

Debts are gone.
A new entity has been created and bought the brand for nothing.
Old entity has gone bankrupted.

'Would be a tragedy': Can the Jets find a new owner, or are they about to spiral out of the A-League?

Too many uncertainties in a-league future to put money in.
Pelligra got Perth for free and Foley is nuts.
😱

'Would be a tragedy': Can the Jets find a new owner, or are they about to spiral out of the A-League?

woke culture = idiocracy
white people who supports this, remember your kids are white and they are going to pay for it.
You are throwing then in second class citizens bin for something the grand gran parents of some of them did.

'I don't care if I'm swearing': Latrell set to escape NRL sanctions despite foul-mouthed radio interview

By the way; if CCM wins the AFC cup and come second to Wellington, who would have the second ACL Elite spot. Third on the premiership or the Champion?

Wanderers humiliated, dark times on the terraces, is premiership now two-horse race?

Central Coast has 3 opportunities to grant a place at next ACL Elite. Winning AFC Cup, winning the Premiership or coming second to Wellington.
I know ACL is not very popular for most of australians, but I like it and I believe australians teams can go further than group phase. City didn’t do it this year cause they are weak even for A-League.
Central Coast, keeping the good football, has good chances to perform well at asian elite level. I have hope.

Wanderers humiliated, dark times on the terraces, is premiership now two-horse race?

Hopefully, Mariners are going to pocket 1.5 million and maybe people will understand the fun of a meritocratic system. Want money? Earn it! That is life.

Prestige, but with a cost: Can A-League teams afford to play in Asian competitions?

Put in the bin is far more elegant than shove it where the sun doesn’t shine.

I agree with both, though. Nonsense.

More than yellow is red. Just use them without fear.

Football's ‘blue card’ concept needs to be put in the bin as it is not the appropriate answer to addressing dissent

the thing is that, apart of Messi, Inter Miami is a ordinary team at Perth Glory’s level.
They paid big money to see Messi, not to see Robert Taylor.

Argentina friendly in China cancelled amid outrage over Messi exhibition match snub

I can say about Brazilians.
The team was heavily criticized in each of those losses.

Are we a mature enough football nation to honestly discuss the Socceroos?

When talking about football, I think maturity is needed from the listener side, but not necessarily from the speaker side.
Maybe because of my background, different from the most of you, but I think you take football talk too seriously.
When talking about football, we should be allowed to leave reason aside and transform an ordinary player who scores a important goal in Messi for a week or blame furiously something that almost work, because football is fantasy world.
Take this playful, silly and passionate talk away, take football too serious and football become only 22 grown up men chasing a ball.
And don’t feel for the players. They all receive a better salary than most of us and if we can have a hard time to earn our money, so can they.

“Football is the most important thing among those things that are not important at all” – Dont’ remember the author.

Are we a mature enough football nation to honestly discuss the Socceroos?

So let’s take a look in the stats:
Pass accuracy: 68% (that is amateur)
Possession: 26% (couldnt keep the possession cause arent able to pass the ball with accuracy)

'Devastating', 'painful', 'punished': Socceroos OUT of Asian Cup after Miller's moments of madness

Australia struggles in passing the ball (basics of football).
Too many wrong passes, too difficult to start the play at defense and go all the way, too many long kicks forward without a clear destination, too easy for S.Korea to recover the ball.
Do you know a game called Piggy in the middle? They should practice it.

'Devastating', 'painful', 'punished': Socceroos OUT of Asian Cup after Miller's moments of madness

I just meant that season starts earlier than supporters and even clubs are thinking.

I really can’t understand why the cup is disregarded as football season.

I see many crazy ideas in australian football, like unite round, double header. Someone suggested power play!!!!

Why not try the craziness of taking the cup seriously as part of the season?

'I'm over it': Arnie doubles down on A-League frustration

In septembrer there is australia cup. Why everyone disregard it?

'I'm over it': Arnie doubles down on A-League frustration

Now and then everyone vent their frustration with a-league and the invisible australia cup, even the most positive person.
It’s nerve-racking watch things developing.
Don’t even know who is to blame.
