This is a contact sport after all, the battle of fittest and most physical. I don’t believe that front rows “train for a 40-60 minute game, they train for a +80 minute – all part of risk management by coaches.

The same goes for Kriel – I can understand wanting to prevent the offload by smothering the ball, but there are better ways to do it. Defence coaches need to get filthy about tackling techniques.
