Where do we find the Administrators report James? Is it public?

The Wrap: Rebels young gun rockets out of Wallabies contention, and why Samipeni Finau's 'brutal' hit on Edmed was fair game

Consistency (or lack of) is an Australia-wide issue, particularly when on tour. Mental toughness??

Agree Hoy. A contractual requirement is only explanation for the ongoing selection of a very ordinary player .. frustrating for fans (and team mates) if true.

Not once have I heard reference from Waugh & Co about the grass roots, plus I understand since Tahs incorporation into RA that grassroots is the Tahs responsibility which made me think RA is leaving it to the state bodies. Happy to be proven wrong…

Scrap the Giteau Law: Rugby Australia should look to Rassie's 'Boks RWC recipe if it wants to re-join the big boys' table

Once again our lads choke under pressure. Not good signs for the Wallabies..

Brumbies 'systematically taken apart by the Blues' in 'non-contest' as Larkham's men cop huge reality check

100% agree Harry. If we are not going to pour money into grassroots which seems likely (call it the “bottom up” approach to revitalising Oz rugby) then we have to have a winning Wallabies (top down) to help the game which means having the best team on the paddock. It also seems that OS based players are getting the coaching that they cannot get here as many seem to come back improved players – unless I’m imagining this?!

Thanks SA. A very comprehensive and plausible explanation. The reds skipper needs to be in the refs ear about breakdown. I hope they can evolve although 3 top line players (McReight, McD, Uru) now out for 3-6 weeks will test them..

The Wrap: Crusaders' shot clock fiasco and shhh, don’t put the moz on Darby

What has changed with the Reds between now and season start?? Even with Lynagh at 5/8 they seem to lose should win matches (EG Force in Perth). It looks psychological to me but interested in others thoughts…

Ferret it may be my tin foil hat but i agree this is what will happen. RA is nothing if not predictable.

Rugby Australia kicks off review into Waratahs as pressure mounts on Coleman ahead of Brumbies clash

I’m impressed by Lynagh. Certainly is tough (evidenced by how he handled the treatment from the Chiefs). Would still like to see him bulk up..

Joe Schmidt's search for a 'cold-hearted bastard' - and the issue he'll lose most sleep over

(This may be covered elsewhere but ..) Do we know if Rebels players are being anything at the moment. RA covering their salaries?

Exclusive: Wallaby refused to play for Rebels against Reds over outstanding debt

Players Managers shouldn’t be able to dictate what games their clients appear in.

Tried and failed. Now is not the time for speculative spend. Now is the time to cut costs to survive..

RA's manic Monday and how it will shape the future of the Australian game

Who knows what the right model will be. Commercial interests also will need to be satisfied. Regardless the passionate debate here means the passion still exists
which is encouraging.. if only RA would listen to the Roar wisdom eh!

RA's manic Monday and how it will shape the future of the Australian game

Correct twice not 5 times – got that off wiki. Should have gone with the gut..

RA's manic Monday and how it will shape the future of the Australian game

i dont get the NRC thing. It didnt work the first (5?) times, no existing support basis being one of the biggest challenges. We also didnt see a “massive uptick” in top level Oz rugby talent from a 2nd tier comp, which is supposed to be the result. Right now RA needs to make financially sound decisions and rebuilding not revisiting old ground. Can we use existing infrastructure? What about a beefed up Club Comp? (local comps ending somehow in a final series taken from various states, dovetailing into a shortened Super Rugby comp). We’re sinking chaps and need to “strip it down and start again”, otherwise its going to be lights out.

Perhaps so they could later add the Geelong Goats and the Bendigo Badgers

RA's manic Monday and how it will shape the future of the Australian game

Sheek I normally agree with you but I have to ask: What possible justification is there (of the pragmatic kind) to justify continuation of the Rebels, which has shown such poor results on the field over a not inadequate period of time (13 seasons) and shown to be completely financially unsustainable as a club, at a time when RA also needs also to find savings or sink. I do not find “the Wallabies started to go pear shaped when it was still 3 teams” a compelling argument. What changes are you expecting which would reverse their fortunes so drastically? PS I think all Australian supporters would love to see a successful Melbourne Rebels including me..

RA's manic Monday and how it will shape the future of the Australian game

is it an Oz rugby site after all rusty. (Havent you noticed every article begins with some boring historical account from roman times or quote from “the art of war”?!)

Why things could be about to get even uglier for Rugby Australia in fallout over Rebels debacle

My understanding is that Administrators are ranked 2nd after secured creditors – but ahead of all other creditors/ staff etc. I would have thought liquidators would be the same? those guys wouldnt work for free surely

Why things could be about to get even uglier for Rugby Australia in fallout over Rebels debacle

Don’t disagree with shutting down Super Jeznez if there’s an alternative setup established to produce the professional players we need – although I fear there is conflict between RA’s short/medium term revenue needs IE Stan contract which relies on Super Rugby and making said changes… time will tell.

Super Round is a celebration of rugby - that's why it should have never been held in Melbourne

Thanks Bliksem (and others). Makes sense.

'He screwed our state': The act that still angers Twiggy Forrest and why he's not ready to jump back in

Couldnt agree less sorry. The idea of a professional rugby side being successful in Vic is now completely emotive and the experiment has failed. Rebels were born at a time when there was 15 Super Rugby licences. Their results over subsequent 14 years on and off the paddock speak for themselves (never placed higher then 9th in the wider SR comp with the debts we know about). Very sad for those involved however Oz rugby is at a crossroads and must prioritize mere survival by retraction before any cross code domination pipedream. RA must start making smart and not aspirational business decisions for the sake of the national game and this has to be the first (sad as it is). We can always improve and revisit growth down the track. Over to you Phil!

Can someone explain to me why Oz Clubs are not regarded as a development comp? (genuine question). Ive never really understood it. Is it because of academies parachuting ringfenced highschool players straight into SR sides? Or other?

We could rename the Telstra Premiership the World Series..

The Wrap: Opening round of SRP a case of the more things change, the more they stay the same
