Don’t follow the support for McDermott. He has a very poor kicking game, weak defence, runs too much and lacks judgment like going for the corner over the points.

Biggest hole in Wallabies rugby is the kicking game and exits, particularly against NZ which has best back 3 in the world at the moment. Too much aimless kicking rather than putting the ball into the corner, player field position and calming folks down.

For all the activity you see from McDermott there is very little gain.

With 2027 in mind, 'Tough little bugger' Tate McDermott is the best pick for Wallabies captain

Your article misses the main issues – Cards are a function of pressure, mistakes and poor field position. The kicking game has been woeful in all 3 games as has the scrum and maul. They need to exit better and play for field position. They should groom hodge for 15 to provide another long range kicking option as the Barrett bros out kicked them for distance.

31 cards in 31 Tests: Killer numbers Eddie must fix to turn Wallabies around as tale of woes revealed

Alaalatoa is a good player but he is weak at scrum time v NZ and SA and include France and Ireland when it comes to it. Jones and predecessors should be flogged for not developing Pone. He is the best running prop in Aus and his scrummaging about at Alaalatoa level. Unless he’s injured he should have played in both games.

Nor is weak and shouldn’t be in the squad unless TT and PF are injured.

Nic white has the best kicking game of any of the scrum halves in Aus and should be in the team just for that.

The three main problems for Aus to fix are the kicking game. They just need to kick for touch and exit calmly, the rolling maul – brumbies staff should be working on that and the scrum. That’s above.

Setback that could cruel Wallabies' RWC hopes - but all hope not lost if Eddie sticks with Gen Next

Back at you fella. They tell me ignorance is bliss?

Not for lineout percentage or post contact meters, no. Arnold beat him on those. The other jumper is Ritchie Arnold.

You aren’t comparing same people as the French comp finished ages ago. Height of summer here. Whereas Philip played in Aus. A weaker competition. Arnold is lacking fitness and match fitness so not a good comparison.

As I say, Philip should get some starts in player rotation but he’s not in Arnold’s league.

Don’t follow. White has a better box kick, pass and game managment than the competition. His defence is also solid.

McDermott overplays. A good 9 will either pass or run 90% of the time. McDermott far too often tries to snipe and then passes. Probably has to at the Reds as they have average backline but doesn’t work at this level. Also gives away too many penalties and does dumb stuff. White more of a percentage player.

You can look at his stats v Philip in the Top 14 and they are better. He plays for Toulouse and won the Heineken with them last year. The Heineken is the best club comp in the world and the finals games are at test level. Toulouse made it to the semis this year. La Rochelle won, beating Leinster – basically the Irish team – and Skelton was one of their best players.

The evidence is there in abundance.

The only reason for the test absence is the daft OS player rules. Most of the SA players play in France or England. Eg Etzebeth at Toulon

SA do it well

Making different points. The point is that Arnold is the better player but like any player he needs to be managed rather than get calls out of the blue.

May well be better to start Philip this game but starting locks for RWC should be Skelton and Arnold and then you do the usual player rotation which may include Philip.

Noah did well as a backstop to QC for the England games. Better than
JOC has done at 10. Better stop gap option at 10 than JOC.

What bs on blooding players. Jonny Wilkinson had a poor first couple of years at 10 and coped a thrashing in the press but worked through it.

Very amusing. Many of us have rugby creds mate. The argument should stand or fall on its merits. Yours don’t stand up.

More a reds supporter but live in the U.K. so watched guys like white at exter where he had the benefit of better coaching than is available in Aus given the higher standard in the Prem.

REACTION: 'Masterclass,' 'perfect game plan, perfectly executed' - Cheika sticks the boot into bewildered Wallabies

Don’t see that. Was best 9 by a mile in the super games and played well for Aus most games with a lot of changes at 10 where the combo is vital. Big gap between him and the rest of the pack. McDermott in particular is not test ready as runs too much and gives away too many penalties.

No. It’s this thing called interviews. In interviews he was asked about his stance on the OS player rules and he said it was discussed but his view was that current system – then the 60 test rule – was fine. Said in print interviews and on Youtube. He later asked for the 3 exceptions and they were granted.

Same position as Rassie but Rassie made taking the SA job conditional on their OS restrictions being scrapped. He says it’s one of the keys to their dramatic turnaround pre lat RWC.

Bizarre. QC is injured. So it’s who is the best of the rest. It’s him at present and then Rennie should be blooding the next in line eg Edmed off the bench for 20 min slots not going back to JOC.

REACTION: 'Masterclass,' 'perfect game plan, perfectly executed' - Cheika sticks the boot into bewildered Wallabies

No he didn’t. He must be a mate of yours.

REACTION: 'Masterclass,' 'perfect game plan, perfectly executed' - Cheika sticks the boot into bewildered Wallabies

Just that you don’t know what you are talking about mate.

REACTION: 'Masterclass,' 'perfect game plan, perfectly executed' - Cheika sticks the boot into bewildered Wallabies

Agree you’re not on point

REACTION: 'Masterclass,' 'perfect game plan, perfectly executed' - Cheika sticks the boot into bewildered Wallabies

Silly. Rennie was asked about it during his interview process. Like Rassie was when he took the SA job… Rennie applied the NZ approach but we do t have their depth. Eg could have changed it to x games for a super team.

It’s not pie in the sky to map out your pecking order of players in positions and you include them in the squad or ask them to keep training for a call up. That is a coaches job.

Pone wasnt injured for all of the tests.

Not pie in the sky just proper coaching.

REACTION: 'Masterclass,' 'perfect game plan, perfectly executed' - Cheika sticks the boot into bewildered Wallabies

See above. You don’t know what you are talking about. Also players have kids they need to feed and Skelton will make far more for them OS than in Aus and also have access to far better coaching like McCall at Sarries and OGara at La Rochelle.

REACTION: 'Masterclass,' 'perfect game plan, perfectly executed' - Cheika sticks the boot into bewildered Wallabies

Leinster is most of the Irish team. The Heniken finals are best club games in the world and played at test pace. In the spring tour he was brought on for the last 20 and that is not how to use him. Fabien Galthié and OGara both miffed that he’s not included. Both better coaches than Rennie and know their stuff.

REACTION: 'Masterclass,' 'perfect game plan, perfectly executed' - Cheika sticks the boot into bewildered Wallabies

You don’t know what you are talking about. Watch Skelton v Leinster last 3 seasons at Sarries at La Rochelle in the Heineken. He’s one of the best locks in the world. The coach of France was saying it was bizarre he is not in wallabies team.

Latu not first choice but better than the chap who started today and is at least a good ball runner and jackler.

REACTION: 'Masterclass,' 'perfect game plan, perfectly executed' - Cheika sticks the boot into bewildered Wallabies

White had a fair game. Not sure what game you were watching. JOC made zero line breaks, zero passes to gaps in the line, kicked poorly in general play, kicked poorly for touch and dropped a ball that led to a try. Contrast that with Noah’s last few games or Hodge.

White had to over extend because JOC didn’t generate anything.

REACTION: 'Masterclass,' 'perfect game plan, perfectly executed' - Cheika sticks the boot into bewildered Wallabies

See above. Didn’t train for a couple of months. Rennie is a dope.

REACTION: 'Masterclass,' 'perfect game plan, perfectly executed' - Cheika sticks the boot into bewildered Wallabies

Cannot expect a player to be ready all year round. Remember it’s the opposite season cycle so if Rennie is too stupid to plan things with him and the other guys why would you not have a break when you have to start preasoson soon? I would. It’s a long season in Europe with Top 14 and Heineken.

Watch Skelton v Leinster – basically the Irish team – in the Heineken finals last few years for Sarries and La Rochelle. Tore them apart – at test pace.

REACTION: 'Masterclass,' 'perfect game plan, perfectly executed' - Cheika sticks the boot into bewildered Wallabies

Forwards can dominate but if back 3 drop the ball all game – as they did here – you aren’t going to win. Repeat – you don’t know what you are talking about.
