Seriously stop saying that, you sound incredibly stupid. Maybe your dead end job doesn’t allow you to enjoy other sports.

So now you can tell people how to spend their weekend? Are you an expert in time management?

Far out, it really is possible to watch more than one sport on the weekend. Americans seem to have no problem watching multiple sports. Maybe if you open your eyes and see how other fans do this.

Tom Rogic is the poster boy for football in Australia

You know people can follow MORE than one sport right? I think you even wrote an article on how people could watch more than one sport hahahah! And the response blew you away

Maybe you were bullied by guys who played AFL and rugby. It would explain your idiotic posts.

Oh cool listen to everything players and coaches tell the media? lip service

Nemesis

Haha yeah right sorry didnt realise you were best mates with Robbie? Oh wait youre just a poster on this forum just like anyone else.

Stop hating just because you cannot answer my questions and arguments.

“Here’s the thing. Robbie Kruse has a contract with one of the world’s most prestigious professional football clubs. Whilst his many critics’ biggest claims to football glory will be to sit on their couch and pretend to be a footballer playing video games, Robbie Kruse is one of the elite 1% of professional footballers who plays at one of the world’s biggest clubs, in the Big 4 leagues of professional football.”

So automatically we cannot comment on his lack of game time in Germany becuase we are not professional footballers? Geez why don’t you shut up as well then.

“Thousands of German footballers & tens of thousands of footballers around the world would love to be in Yeboah’s boots.”

And your point is? Classic reply from you by bringing up irrelevant points.

May be you are too slow (Not surprising as everyone has lost count of the times you have embarassed yourself going in circles, I hope youre not a lawyer)

My point is it doesn’t matter if young Australians get signed by an elite European clubs. It means absolutely nothing if you don’t get playing time. You can learn only so much at training.

Every year hundreds of once promising footballers are released by elite clubs becuase they sit on the bench for three four years in reserves.

Kruse was at Leverkusen? You couldnt resist telling other posters how big Leverkusen was, how its one the most famous clubs, Champions league quality etc etc

And guess what? It meant nothing becuase he didn’t play. In fact he regressed.

Tom Rogic is the poster boy for football in Australia

How did Kruse fare at Leverkusen? You couldn’t stop talking about how Leverkusen was an elite German club etc etc

There is no point being at a perceived “elite” club if you are not playing. At his age Yeboah has wasted his important years in the reserves.

Yeah tell me Sheek do the following count as AUSTRALIAN names? They are AUSTRALIAN just as much as Leitch is JAPANESE.

Folau
Polota-Nau
Latu
Koroibete
Naivalu
Kerevi
Tui
Perese
Kuridrani
Kepu
Sio
Naiyaravoro

Maybe you’re so damn poor you can’t afford to fly out of the country and have a look at how freely people move between countries.

The Wrap: Chaos reigns as Super Rugby finals take shape

@sheek

“NZ born Michael Leith. Yeah, that’s a real Japanese name.

What kind of a world do we live in now? Pick your country from a fantales lolly wrapper maybe?? Or a cookies fortune??”

You stupid old ignorant man!

Michael Leitch moved to Japan during high school.

He left his family to move to a completely new culture, learned a new language, attended the same class as his Japanese team mates.

Graduated from a Japanese University while playing Rugby. Speaks fluent Japanese. Married a Japanese wife.

“What kind of a world do we live in now? Pick your country from a fantales lolly wrapper maybe?? Or a cookies fortune??”

So did Leitch just hop on a plane a few years to get an easy route to international rugby?

NO.

He has learned the majority of his Rugby in Japan. He is as Japanese as any other team mate in the SunWolves.

Same as Amanaki Mafi as well by the way. He moved to Japan while still a teenager.

What about to stop having cheap shots at guys who have made genuine life changing sacrifices like Leitch? How Australian are the Wallabies mate?

Yeah so many Australian names! Cheika is handing out caps to imports! Koroibete? Naivalu? Soon going to be Naisarani?

Give yourself an uppercut!

The Wrap: Chaos reigns as Super Rugby finals take shape

“Zlatan Ibrahimovic left because of money, taking the easy way out.”

Do not underestimate this author (does he even deserve to be called one) because he is best mates with Zlatan. Maybe Zlatan wanted to leave an incompetent club that had relegated itself to Serie B. Maybe he wanted to test himself on a bigger stage. Maybe.

Despite Messi's contract extension, loyalty is officially dead in football

Nope. Barcelona did nothing wrong. Messi was being disloyal to his childhood club because Christian said so. And that is why loyalty is “officially” dead as opposed to nearly everyone with half a brain knowing this a long time ago.

Despite Messi's contract extension, loyalty is officially dead in football

“Look at how many players have moved to China in the past year.”

Sounds like loyalty in football died long before Messi resigned with Barcelona.

Despite Messi's contract extension, loyalty is officially dead in football

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about when you don’t even understand the basic concepts of contracts. Not surprising as you look about 13 in your photo.

Players are free to move if they feel they another club is willing to pay for their services. After all a football career could end tomorrow with a serious injury.

When you finish high school you will realise it is unrealistic to stay with the same company or business for life.

Despite Messi's contract extension, loyalty is officially dead in football

I agree and I feel an increasing number of fans are believing this is the best way forward. Although short term it may be less than ideal long term it will be the best for rugby in Australia.

Two clubs each from Brisbane and Sydney. One club in Melbourne, Canberra, Perth and Central Coast.

Top two clubs of the Japanese Top League. These clubs are more professional than the mess and disgrace that is the Sunwolves. Playing roster contains high quality Australian/NZ/RSA internationals. Japanese fans and broadcasters identify more with these established clubs.

Provide 2-3 designated slots at each club for Pacific Island internationals.

Ten clubs. Home and away. Top four make the finals.

Friday: The Super Rugby D-day that may or may not exist

Excellent point. There is simply too much rugby.

It is draining on both fans and players and ultimately diluting the product.

“Think about rugby fans in Australia. Many (most?) will have played for or have an attachment to a club, then we are asking them to engage with their state team (Super Rugby) and the Wallabies. And now an NRC team as well, effectively another state team.”

Exactly. I do not know why some believe Super Rugby and NRC are able to exist together. Absolutely stupid.

Fans (and Australia has some of the most stingiest fans in the most competitive sports market) cannot invest both financially and emotionally to all these clubs dispersed cross different “tiers” of rugby.

They are not linear competitions with the same clubs represented on an international stage like the UEFA Champions League in football or the previously known European rugby championship as Heineken Cup.

Time to cut all the Australian Super sides and re-design the entire rugby season

Finish off Super Rugby. Confusing ladder. Around the world travel. Atrocious crowds. No one cares.

Domestic league to become the premier rugby competition in Australia.

Possibly expand the NRC. Ten teams.

Two clubs each in Sydney and Brisbane. One club each from Melbourne, Canberra, Perth.

Top two clubs from Top League each year join the competition. They will be more competitive than the mess that is Sunwolves.

Also invite a Fiji/Samoa/Tonga XV. Maybe each Australian club can have one spot for PI players.

Time to cut all the Australian Super sides and re-design the entire rugby season

“There seems to be a real lack of confidence within the Wallaby camp and it stems from the ruthless attacks they are getting throughout the week.”

Really? These players are lucky they’re not footballers at a European or South American club if they cannot handle the criticism of the Australian rugby public who are sick of under performing clubs.

By the way, Michael Hooper said the following a few weeks ago:

“The ability to separate those is something that the Wallabies have always been good at and something that the coaching staff will definitely look into,” he said.

“It’s actually a lot easier than you think.

“You’re coming in, a fresh environment, fresh faces, so there’s a lot of enthusiasm to, not leave that stuff behind, but take what you’ve learned and take it in and pool it in together to go forward.

“That’s the good thing about having all fresh faces, (there’s) new people to bounce ideas off and a new challenge ahead.”

Time to support our Wallabies

I am not sure if David “We must beat the Italians by a cricket score” Lord even watched the game. He probably cannot even name one Italian player and thinks Sergio Parisse was on the pitch. And to think he believes Hanigan played himself into the starting line up based on yesterday’s performance.

Wallabies beat the Azzurri in a photo finish

I am not sure where this obsession with running rugby comes from? Does it partly stem from our demanding public for attacking rugby in competition with the NRL and AFL? Because currently we simply do not have the players to go wide and throw consecutive passes without someone dropping the ball. The players do not even run onto the ball when we run out from the 22 as shown by the intercept try.

And how has Ned Hanigan earned the number six jersey based on yesterday’s performance David “We must beat the Italians by a cricket score” Lord?

Wallabies beat the Azzurri in a photo finish

Are the Wallabies stupid? Are they arrogant? Are they just terrible at rugby? I really do not know anymore.

So many fundamental errors, for all their talk about “training really well during the week” they knock the ball on twice in the first three minutes. And many more errors to follow.

Sure, by all means run the ball out from your own 22 BUT only do so if your players are running onto the ball through crisp passes. Not looping passes to players standing still.

The most ridiculous was when Genia’s flat pass was so terrible in the second half that it went straight to an Italian defender.

Credit to the Italians. Their scrum was solid and Allan, Campagnaro and Bonni were strong in the backline.

I wonder what David “we need to beat the Italians by a cricket score” Lord will have to say.

Highlights: Wallabies win 40-27, but it was hardly comfortable

I realise the following will most likely never happen but I wish this became true.

1. Scrap Super Rugby. Forever. Endless travel, plastic franchises, confusing format, pathetic crowds and minimal engagement outside of the diehard fans. Who cares.

2. Australia and New Zealand to start their own domestic rugby competitions. Mitre10 Cup to become the premier domestic rugby competition in New Zealand.

Australia will be obviously be much more difficult but short term pain for long term gain. 2 clubs each from Brisbane and Sydney. Plus 1 club each from Melbourne, Perth and Canberra. Plus the top 2 clubs of the Japanese Top League each season. Open up 1-2 spots in each club for Pacific Island players (already capped by their countries) to at least make an effort to stop the drain in talent in the region.

More professional clubs. More opportunities for players. More tribalism. Less travel.

Not so Super Rugby

I agree with other posters in that you can never beat the match day atmosphere at the stadium.

However, the atmosphere at rugby games here in Australia (and in other codes as well) are terrible. Even the few Bledisloe Cup games feel like a funeral. The Six Nations and European rugby matches in general are a totally different story. The action on the pitch might not be flash but the atmosphere is priceless.

Roar and Against: Watching rugby union on TV is better than being at the ground

“FIFA PlayStation”TM haha, that is a new one I haven’t heard of 🙂

“But, it’s pointless & ridiculous for me to think my system would be any better than Ange’s system.”

Yes, obviously Ange and his coaching staff will not be reading these posts.

But without productive discussions like “What if we pick him?” and “What if we play like this?” how monotonous would sports be?

I’m really confused as to why you choose to post on The Roar when your idea of football is to talk to yourself and ignore other posters and listen to the robotic-like interviews of modern day players and managers.

“I don’t care if you disagree with my opinions.”

Likewise, other posters like myself do not care if people disagree with our views.

But what we do care is when posters like yourself persist in telling outnumber views are wrong because we are somehow inferior in our knowledge of the game in Australia. Because we follow another code in Australia. Becaude we support another club in Europe. Because we do not attend every single home game of the A-League.
