Love your proposal! Couldn’t agree more with every point. It won’t happen though, because Australia’s rugby administrators don’t have the vision or fortitude to do so. They’re drowning and just want to find anything to hold on to including the old ways of thinking and running rugby. I’ve been a fan of rugby all my life but have just about given up on Australian rugby ever lifting their heads out of the sand. There simply aren’t enough Twiggys at the top who want to nurture the game from the ground up. Instead there’s an endless cycle of nepotism and focus on short term fixes for everything. I wish there was more to be cheerful about and your business model makes perfect sense to me, but hell would have to freeze over for all that to happen.
